  • Brian Greene takes us on the ultimate time traveling adventure, hurtling 50 years into the future before stepping into a wormhole to travel back to Big Bang. Along the way, he reveals a new way of thinking about time in which moments past, present, and future-from the reign of T. Rex to the birth of your great-great-grandchildren-exist all at once.

    Thx so much Brain, Looks like time is more complex than we think! Isn't it weird how 5 minutes at work feels like an hour, but an hour of Netflix feels like 5 minutes?

    I can never get tired of hearing the same relativity thing over and over, explained in the most diverse kinds of metaphors.
    But the vectorial version, where you lose time if space is gained, which I had never seen before, brings a beautiful engineering component to it.

    33:44 They should have filmed him arriving through the wormhole at the beginning of the program (at the 3:48 mark ) then exit to the left. Then have Brian-on-the-right say, "I'll explain what just happened later in the show."

    The moment you realise that the timer on the movie (or this documentary) you are watching is also time in real life, then you will see things differently.

    Movement is relative.
    Time is the simplifying concept we use to think about
    the relative movement of everything that physically exists.
    Thus there is no past or future and there is no present either.
    What exists is stuff and
    all of it is moving.

    one thing we know abut time is, that it is there curs you can't go from A to B with out it, the thing abut clock is no matter what we use as a clock is that it is made out of atoms, and every atom is influenced by gravity and the more there is of gravity there is the less tick there will be, time is the dimension that make everything able to go from A to B, 1D..

    Surely the difference between order and disorder is just a matter of perception, after all the disorder of the big bang developed into what we perceive as order today. If the universe is in a perpetual cycle between big bang and big crush, order-disorder-order-disorder is just a wave.

    Of course this is not my idea but Sir Roger Penrose's, but as at the end of the video, as black holes radiate all the particles out into space untill they die, the universe is back in a perfectly ordered state! A new beginning of time. The universe seems also to have some self-organising features and this is not discussed... would love to hear more about that.

    I believe that we will eventually conclude that the weight of a string determines the 'speed' that is experienced. This will disprove theories of time travel, while affirming time dilation.
    About the universe expanding faster . . . is matter increasing? If so why? Is our universe itself a black hole that is sucking in space from a larger 'super-verse' , that might one day be slated to dissolve back into the superverse? This would make the 'big bamg' the creation of our black-hole universe . . . like the moment the baseball was hit, with no way to measure the pitch that sent the ball into play.

  • @tusharpotdar5762

    I think actually in universe there are only two things exist, one is *Distance* & the other is *angle / degrees*
    And these both are also relative to observer and the point define by the observers, other all parameters are derive from these two - if you go certain distance till a man made machine big arms change it's position by 360degree or one circle will be call as "km/h"
    For example if we say Jupiter is "x" distance away from sun, we are as observer assign sun as a point from where we will major distance
    To do time travel कर दस साल पिछे जाना means earth को spiral down move करा के पिछे उतनी ही degree पे लेजाना जहाँ वो दस साल पहले थी, जो कि possible नहीं है।
    That's why *time travel is not possible*
    Time & Money are two manmade concepts

    i thought that they just find out that big bang was not the start of it all , according to a finding by this new telescope james web , they find galaxies older then big bang ,so ..all that is said here becomes yet again just an illusion of our ''not understanding'',, ''this box is empty , it suppose to be full, any one care to explain'' ( guess which movie ) 😏

    • @tonib5899
      @tonib5899 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I know what you mean, there are always stories about galaxies being found older than the Big Bang, when the proper calculations, measurements and error bars are included they always come in definitely younger than the Big Bang but not by much. Within a few hundred thousand years galaxies couldn’t have formed at first. Space had to expand,cool and become clear enough for light to travel. It’s a bit like you would never find a child older than their parent.(excluding extreme time dilation/time travel)scenarios. The media always latch on to leading edge physics papers and results and say they contradict the Big Bang. The redshift of galaxies,the cosmic microwave background, the speed of light and the distribution of matter and dark matter all support the Big Bang cosmological model. So it’s not just one thing that holds up and supports it.

      @hari4406 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Universe is ultra huge. Its impossible to think that all of it just could have came out of big bang. Even if that were true, that doesn't mean there was a universe before that. Or may be it wasn't a big bang but just cyclical expansion and collapse, due to unknown mechanics, that has been going on for, who knows how long, eternity.

    • @hari4406
      @hari4406 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@tonib5899 problem is it fits the church narrative of world creation too perfectly. Let there be light 😂

    • @tonib5899
      @tonib5899 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@hari4406 It doesn’t though does it. The period of re ionisation took around a billion years to get to the stage where all light could travel. It wasn’t a super quick effect. It happened over a vast time and even bigger distances. The expansion wasn’t just one big boom. Although it’s called a big bang, it’s misleading if you don’t grasp the fact that the expansion wasn’t the bang. Indeed the expansion is not one uniform or unitary action. It’s still expanding now.

    whats the point in pondering too much on time, is it just for curiosity? Because if its human curiosity that's driving this research on time (which is intagible for most people in the world), then why not channelize this curiosity towards sustainable development like waste recycling? People would still be amazed to find that artificial islands can be created out of waste generated by society. They would also be happy that instead of burning more fossil fuels and spreading smoke on them, government is trying to use intelligence in those areas that lead to reduction of smoke , thereby giving them better air.

    Time isn't what it seems...nothing isn't what it seems either,if something has something to say about it,just ask the Universe,but you'll need to ask the right question to recieve the correct answer🤔...it may take some 'time' though!...so as long as time behaves the same everywhere,on that universal scale??
