My First trip to SF was when it was 2 ways on the crazy road. When we got half way down. I got sick In the car. Tried it a out 16 years later. Didn't get sick it was beautiful. One way is better

I love them together! They definitely were made for each other. I’m sure neither ever imaged being with someone on opposite sides of the states, but I’m so thankful they discovered each other. ❤
The bird with the pretty colors is a European Starling. I used to volunteer at a bird rescue and most rescues will not take them in if they are injured because they are an invasive species. They will take over the nests of native species.
Yeah…those starlings are bullies and they will take over your feeders here in southern Ontario. We have to be very inventive in ways of keeping them out so the songbirds can eat

I'm a subbie from Atlanta . I watch alll of your videos. I met Hank Aaron in person years ago. He had already retired and had some auto dealerships in the Atl area. He signed for cell service from my company so I was the sales person who met him. We had lunch together and he gave me a signed baseball for my nephew. He still has the ball and he said he will never sell it. What a great memory of meeting a baseball legend!

The Alcatraz tour is well worth it. Drove down from west coast of Canada a few years ago with two 14 year olds, they loved it. This was a fun video, thanks for sharing.
They have so much in common, which is one great attribute to their relationship. She’s so giggly sometimes like a little girl. I’m happy they get together a lot, yes their very positive when their together. I’m 78 and I remember those days, I get a kick out of the two of them. Have a great day.

Thanks for sharing the Bay Area. Used to live in Alameda which is an island in the San Francisco Bay. Went to S.F. Almost every weekend. I worked for a Boat Builder who would take his employees out every Friday night sailing around Alcatraz. Brings back many memories.

Way to protect your girl! I had to run the video back to see what the bigger dog was....a Whippet in a Dalmation/giraffe costume!! He listened right away....just protecting his turf. LOVE the robe. You're going down lumbard street. I believe it's the third house on the right from the bottom. That is extremely haunted, so walk very quickly past that 1. Oh I saw at the bottom they put an apartment building. So haunted house is gone? That makes me so sad. I read a really good but scary book about that place years ago. It made it much cooler when I went there.

As a kid I lived in Berkeley 445 Boynton Ave and it too was on a hillside. There was 152 steps up to the front door. Thankfully they were big wide low steps. There was even more up to the top of the back yard. An amazing Spanish style house.

Tears came to my eyes when I watched y'all get to Lombard Street. All my gang from high school....4 girls....met in California for a week, and San Francisco was my favorite place we visited !!!! We went to all of those places you just showed in the video....Lombard St, Alcatraz, Golden Gate Bridge, Pier 39, we ate fish at that center market where you were standing, and rode one of those street cars !!!! Thank you so much for helping me relive such beautiful memories !!!! You two make a cute couple !!!! Matt kind of reminds me of Blake Shelton. Many blessings to you both !!!!

One of my favorite memories was when my husband and I went to San Fransico for our 1st anniversary. At Pier 39, my husband was so excited to see they had a Left-handed Store, since he was a lefty. (He always said that left-handed people were in their right minds!) He couldn't wait to see all the tools and gadgets. He saw something in a display case and reached over to swat me in the rear so I would look at what he had found. The problem was, I was on the other side of the room and he had just tapped on a little old woman's backside! I was laughing so hard I had to leave the store. As he turned multiple shades of red, he apologized profusely to the woman. She just smiled at him and said "Oh. Honey, you made my day!" Every store we went in after that, she was there giving my husband a smile and a wink. We were married for 37 years before his passing in 2020. Blessings, Janell

It's a Starling, the bird on the trash can. They're actually an invasive species that a dude obsessed with Shakespeare brought in in 1890. He wanted all the birds mentioned in the Bard of Avon, almost 60 species, into the US. He was part of a group in NY that wanted to introduce European flora and fauna here. Really enjoy watching y'alls adventures and the bargains you find along the way, thanks for the vids!

What are 2 folks from Tennessee doing in oakland ca? I was born in oakland and lived up there in the monclair hills. Lots of twists and turns in that hill! Then you pointed to the "castle house" . We lived across the street from one and my heart stopped thinking you may have been in my childhood home. It was on Merriwood i believe. Then on to SF....lombard st and the pier. Did you ride on the cable car? My mother would take me to SF every year for my birthday . I loved it! For my 21st we saw "CATS" downtown in a beautiful old theater.... With balconies and red velvet curtains. Wonderful memories. Thank you for taking me back.
84 to 89 traveled the Bay Area in the aircraft carrier out of Alameda used to travel the bay bridge daily because I lived in Daly city. Thanks for the memories.
My favorite memory of our trip was getting a Ghirardelli ice cream sundae….lol

Crooked Rd. is wide in comparison to Snake Alley in Burlington, IA.
My sister used to live in apts at the top of Snake Alley and we use to drive down it everyday. It was the most crooked rd in the world for a car. Any wider or any more crooked it would have been physically impossible to drive a car on it. They closed it to vehicles the last time I had seen it.
I was in SFO January 1996 for my 40th bday and it was a gloomy day just like your video. But I still had a great time celebrating with a huge bloody mary at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco. It was so cool to see where The Towering Inferno was filmed... The wharf with all the seals on the docks, riding the street car and the shoppiing. Thrifting was not a big thing back then though...
My husband’s father was at the Golden Gate Bridge the night it opened & walked across- we live in SC but he went out west as a young man.
