Enjoyed the video. Nice job climbing, limbing & chunking. As always, great ground work.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
Title says “Covered in vines”….😂😂😂 I’ve climbed trees so covered in vines you had to cut the vines back to see the tree.
I feel you, working through thick vines is the worst.
How do you like that lowering device compared to a portawrap?
The guys like it a lot better than the port-a-wrap. I haven't used it much, but from the couple of times that I've used, it's pretty good.
You're getting there! experience will come with a lot of shortcuts and a few bumps and bruises. Once you get into the big trees that's when the real respect will follow
Thanks!
Good job, guys. Buen trabajo, chicos.
Thank you! 🙌
Never seen 2 wheel dolly used to haul logs. Might have to steal that idea!
It's definitely easier than carrying them by hand.
It looks like you are right handed, and I was curious if you found it easier to tend your slack on the main layard with the tail on your left. I'm having a hell of a time tending and slacking out with that same lanyard. it's super solid, and as a beginner, I have confidence in it which is important, but for the love of god, I have to run two lanyards just to tend slack in the main one. Not cool. It would be fine if trees didn't taper but that's not a thing.
Yes, it definitely is easier tending my slack with my right hand...but, it's more convenient and less messy having it on my left side because my saw is on my right side. It took some getting used to, but in the end it's better.
I will consider the change; I'm just trying to gain more trust with my secondary tie in without the mechanical cam lock. The Distel had a slightly longer reset than the Catalyon hitch so I'm trying that also. Thanks for the reply.@@zdclimber
