  • This video demonstrates a technique to select items from a list and store them in a second list. It also shows how to remove an item(s) from the second list and return it to the first list. This example uses a single table with 2 fields. Field one has the item name, field two is an integer. It is the field two value, either 0 or 1, that is the trick to this technique. List1 rowsource deals with value 0. List2 rowsource deals with value 1. Selecting an item in list1 and moving it to list2 involves an update query. A similar approach moves a selected item in list2 back to list1. Add and Remove buttons are used to execute the update queries. This is a simple and effective way to display selected items in a list and/or return them to the "selectable" list.
This video has been resurrected from an older Access tutorial series by DataPigTechnologies. Even though Access looks different now, the concepts and functionality persist. Thanks to owner, Mike Alexander, for making these videos available for presentation once again. Thanks also to Jack Drawbridge and John Clark for helping get these valuable lessons back online.

thanks, John -- but as you know, Mike made it, Jack wrote the description, and all I did was make the thumbnail and post it!

    great solution!
just one thing: the copy process for the dblclick is odd. you can simply call the button's click function instaed of copying all the text.

nice... Your videos are lovely... One Question .. Why you are still using oldest version of Access when we have latest like 365 ?

thanks, Kamlesh. As explained in the video description, these are old Access videos made by Mike Alexander (DataPig Technologies), not me, because the techniques are still relevant.

Sir, how to transfer listbox items to a specific text box with condition. For example if I have a listbox having 10 names. After opening a form, if I click a button. Fields 1 to 10 would retrieve and fill the data serially from 1 to 10 to the text boxes against Fields 1 to 10. Is it possible in MS Access. Kindly advise.
