Pokémon Stadium Pika Cup Round 2

- Here's a cup where you have to use low-level Pokemon, and try to prevail. I find that the easiest way to win this is to use a tradeback Alakazam (trade it to Gold, Silver, or Crystal, teach it the elemental punches, then trade it back). If you do have access to those games, Starmie is just as good. The only problem I find is the Alakazam the final trainer has, so have a decent leveled physical attacker for that.
Being in the Pika cup stadium is like being in a Stadium in the sky. The music in the first three rounds gives me that certain vibe!
Which is why it is my favorite one.

Mighty blow from the word “go”!
TAKEN DOWN ON THE WORD “GO”!
This is a wild one from the word “go”!
17:17
_Ooh!_ It was casually cast aside!
18:39
You call _that_ a fair hit?! More like a harsh blow! It _clearly_ punked Electrode in one fell swoop. (My bad. Ted said "Severe hit!".)
31:10
*_DOWN!!_*_ THE LEVEL DISADVANTAGE IS OBVIOUS!_
Christian J. Perez He said "severe hit!"
+Christian J. Perez (Solar Flareon) "17:17 Ooh! It was casually cast aside!"
Never heard that one before!
+Yuni really? Lol
Christian the Solar Flareon ooo
THAT’S A GOOD HIT
You can trade from Gold/Silver/Crystal to Red/Blue/Yellow once Bill fixes the trade machine for that purpose. You can only trade the original 151 Pokemon with the original moves though.
ShadowMario3 its awesome and learn ice fire and thunder punch in alakazam in gen ll and trade in gen l
I loved this cup. It was unique in that you either used an overpowered Elemental Punching Alakazam or you had to find a way to use fully evolved Pokemon at Lv 15-20, like getting an Electrode below Lv15 in a trade, etc. I thought it was kinda cool.
Likitungs animation of the body slam is nice 🤣 a literal body slam
I'm not using an emulator. This was played on an actual N64, and the Pokémon were from the actual games.
ShadowMario3 I finished some cups on console
You have Dratini the Pokémon banned from the anime
Flamethrower as an egg move? My goodness, you are quite a genius for Pokémon! I used the old man glitch to get past the Pika Cup in Pokémon Stadium.
That was brilliant, how you switched back and forth between Charmander and Alakazam, so that the opposing Alakazam accumulated burn damage.
Actually it wasn't. He could've ended the burned Alakazam much sooner instead of switching multiple times.
Awesome playthrough! I used to love trading Pokemon between generations I and II.
@respectthekick07
Yeah, I love that aspect of Gen I and Gen II. Just a lot of ways to get underleveled Pokemon. Of course, it's much easier to do that with the Ditto Glitch.
@HunterRyosuke
Which Pokemon did opponents have that were impossible to obtain? Yellow added a bunch of low level Pokemon that can be obtained. Level 15 Gyarados can be found in Fuchsia City, and Dragonair in the Safari Zone, in Yellow. Level 15 Parasect, Dewgong, Electrode and Dugtrio, Level 16 Machamp can be obtained through in-game trades in both RB and Y (for some, you have to trade over versions).
It's weird seeing a level 20 alakazam, but given what round you participated in it makes sense.
31:46 such a fitting name for that final pokemon you defeated
I love your videos, ShadowMario. Great job on this one.
_Good job! i will do a pkmn stadium playthrough in the future_
Pokemon Stadium is suited for using the N64 Transfer Pack, for Pokemon Stadium to work, it would require the older Pokemon games to be downloaded or built into the software, in other words, you'd either need the older Pokemon games downloaded into the console too, or Nintendo would have to put the older pokemon games on the handheld eShop to simulate the experience.
It's easier for to make a new Stadium/Colosseum and let you use the handheld games like GB/C+N64 or GBA+Gamecube or DS/3DS+Wii.
I used an Alakazam just like that one to do it (lower level though). I like how almost everyone wins these R-2 games by finding a way to basically break the game to give them an arguably unfair advantage. Be it the GSC games or mew glitching.
girl scout cookies eh. good strain
who else is here from dobbs
me
me
Why?
10:08 rip bulbasur lol
Good playing shadow Mario its so awesome
I think this is the hardest cup in entire game... I beat R2 somehow if you do you are now a Pokémon master!
Lmaoooooo the metronome disrespek xD @ 23:36 its a head-on collision! Power Vs Power!
A Dewgong, surprisingly, isn't against the Pika Cup rules. In order to get a low level Dewgong, you need to catch a level 15 Growlithe in Pokemon Red (or breed one in Gold/Silver/Crystal and raise it to level 15). Then, trade said Growlithe over to Pokémon Yellow, then trade it with the trainer in Yellow's Cinnabar Island Lab for a level 15 Dewgong.
Crap, I forgot alakazam was legal in Pika cup
Abra evolves into Kadabra starting at level 16, and then evolves into Alakazam via trade.
Every pokemon except for Mewtwo and mew can enter this cup
WOW, your pokemon are ultimate
I do like the R2 cups changes some of the the trainers spots like the poke cup the Psychic trainer is the final boss of the cup
I bet that the 5th battle was one of the hardest battles for you in this video, wasn't it? As for that Lass in the Pika Cup, she's (in my opinion) one of the hardest trainers in the game (thank goodness for Voltorb and Electrode).
OMG a wild Doggo appeared! Go, Master Ball!
So, demon Alakazam *can* be beaten. But only by itself, and with a lot of help.
It helped that he switched it into an incoming psychic as well. Without the good luck of him making that terrible play, and the additional good luck of it getting a special drop it would simply one shot the charmander before it got to attack at all.
It learned that move (as an Egg Move) in Gold/Silver/Crystal, then I traded it back to Red/Blue/Yellow.
.... it's learn egg move on abra and start evolved
Nope. You have to teach Abra/Kadabra/Alakazam Thunderpunch (as well as the other Gen I moves) in Gold, Silver, or Crystal, then trade them back to Red, Blue, or Yellow. Then you can use an Alakazam knowing those moves in Pokémon Stadium.
GSC FTW. I used GSC to get a low lvl Snorlax that knew Double Edge. I remember OHKOing a lot of the weaker and squishy pokes with it, like that Alakazam the Fisher had.
girl scout cookies for the win for sure
How did the Lass get a Level 15 Jynx anyway.
Annu Singleton pokemon Yellow, Catch a Poliwhirl at Level 15 and Trade It in Red or Blue
Ian Burke Exactly
There are actually a fair few illegal Pokemon in Pika Cup (both the rentals and the CPU trainer Pokemon), but the Jynx isn't one of them!
@@iss2075 Oh! Really? Well, which ones are illegal, then? I wanna know, since I'm currently stuck on Pika Cup R2.
This is on the N64. What did I change? All I did was get tradebacks from the Gold/Silver/Crystal games and used them here.
lol why did u change to bulbasaur on nidoking when you had alakazam?
17:17 unreal luck!
but how did he take them down so suddenly like that that's just shocking honestly 😨😱😦
@ShadowMario3
Eh, I guess some trainers use Magnemite, Seadra, Tentacruel, and Golem, which are impossible to obtain unless you use the Mew Glitch.
I like the music for rounds 1-3.
17:13 That was close
Hey Alakazam was tranfered from johto to kanto? There's no way that it can do fire punch in gen1
That is correct.
There is also a way to get a lvl 5 machamp XD. You need to obtain a cubone from egg, and then trade it to yellow edition. In one of the subways that surround saffron city a child exchange a machoke x cubone.
I beat the Fisherman’s Alakazam by Freezing it
I still think that this Cup was retarded in the first game. Opponents having underleveled evolutions completely impossible to obtain, the level limit affecting the whole Team and not each single Pokemon and of course, the fact that all rental Pokemon were at level 15, making it impossible to win without using the OP Gen 1 Elemental Punching Alakazam or Drug boosted Pokemon at level 16-17 from your own game.
P.S. : I love the game, I just totally hated this Cup.
Bro you are right. There is a low chance of beating and win this cup using rentals, they have very low ev's and stats. I even remember a rental gyarados being defeated by a dragon rage charmeleon lol. Btw charizard could beat up blastoise in this gen. He has only to survive the hidro pump and never miss the fire spin and toxic.
Charizard uses toxic, blastoise was badly poisoned, blastoise uses hydro pump but charizard faintly survives.charizard uses fire spin and if it never misses, blastoise is story lol
*Hi, hey I have a question which code gameshark did you use in the game boy pokemon (blue pokemon), to have the pokemon at level 20?*
I didn't use a Gameshark for them. Abra evolved into Kadabra at level 16. From there, you can trade Kadabra to another game to evolve it to Alakazam, then level it up to level 20. For Starmie, just fish for a Staryu at route 19 (in Red and Blue, it's at level 15) with a Super Rod, then use a Water Stone to evolve it, then raise it to level 20.
someone who won it that cup in one intent,i keep waiting...
And lower dragonairs in safari by fishing, but you must be lucky for that XD.
Not proud of it, but had to cheat using save states for this one
We all did thanks to the NSO version always save point before a low accuracy move to make sure it hit abused it in the Mewtwo an horn drill against slow Pokémon with mons that had it
100th comment 😎 nice job winning
@MarioLuigiYoshi1000
If I didn't, Mage would have surely been paralyzed and defeated by that Alakazam.
Other pokemon incluyed clefable in lass it's star using thunder wave and paralysis mage can't use the first turn in state paralyze
I did´t even beat this cup First Round without a Level 20 I don´t remember. But yeah now I stand on traying Round 2 "gulp". This one was the hardest there, wonder if it is here too. Better get some nice gameboy Monsters to use. Only have Red. The old nice Red. Man 100 is gonna be a nightmare even with a MewTwo.
@ShadowMario3 Glitch which I didn't even know about when I actually still had Pokemon Stadium... And even now, I think it's way too complicated and too much trouble except for the neat and easy trick to get that level 7 Mew.
Honestly, as far as low-leveled Pokemon battles are concerned, I prefer the Little Cup. At level 5 with just first forms of NFE, there's just no way to toy around like this.
How did you trade your pokemon from silver to yellow/blue/red using a emulator?
D'AAAAAAAW, IT'S A ONE HIT WONDER
Porygon is another banned Pokémon
I thought you could only trade with yellow, blue and red?
I wish they have Pokemon stadium at the nintendo wii shop. I wanna download it.
NSO
Iremember have a level 15 moltres in this and Dragonite
Guess you obtained them with the Mew Glitch? Funny that the Pika Cup any Pokemon in as long as they were between level 15-20.
Yeah I did the mew glitch I do find it funny every pokemon except for mew and mewtwo can be in the pika cup
Why didn't you use Psychic on Nidolar!?
I question how some of these trainers were able to get evolved Pokémon at a low level lol.
Game logic and the first Pokémon Stadium was broken.
@@luciusirving5926 it’s possible to get all the Pokémon in the pika cup except the final evolution starters, legendary birds, and mew and mewtwo.
how your charmander got FLAMETHROWER?
if it's supposed to learn that technique in a way higher level.
He did it by breeding. They both, father and mother have to obtain the same moveset.so as you say.he has to level up charmander at higher levels lol i think charmander learns that move at level 46 when you are playing the first gen games and then transfer it at second gen games, breeding the male charmander with ditto in order to get more charmanders and then raise a female charmander and level up her until she learns flamethrower and then breed breed both, the male and female and finally raise up the level 5 charmander that has copied it's parents moveset. Yoy could spend like 3 weeks doing all of that if it is not hacked lol
Ho do yoy obtain the alakazam with all this fire punch , thunerpunch and ice punch
Andrés Perez Tovar Trade it to Gold/Silver/Crystal there are they Tm's that Alakazam learn theb trade IT back.
Can u use gold and silver Pokemon on this game
howd u get an Alakazam with thunderpunch
Yes you can trade them back
Sad alakazam finally lost
I remember I was playing this cup & a girl trainer had a Dewgong.
IT WAS AGAINST DA RULES. I even checked! It destroyed me...
What system is this on. On N64 its nothing like this how did you get to change everything. Cheater XD!
No maghearp
oh how i love exploiting the mew glitch just to get near hacked versions of pokemon at lv. 15...
Gyarados, Dragonite, Articuno, Tauros, Magneton, Hypno
lol
2/6 of them are illegal by Pika Cup rules. However. Remove the glitch, 4 of them (Tauros, Gyarados, Magneton and Hypno) are legal by the listed online rules.
Aw fuck
Fucking Tentacruel with its wrap and fucking Dragonair zzzzzz
Those toe mons are a piece of cake
eres demasiado malo para esto
el rodo todo
Hablas como si supieras ganar esto facil
