*Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Splatoon 2, Luigi's Mansion 2: Dark Moon, Metroid Dread and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door*
@@metroidjones122 The video never mention Mercury steam Samus return, after Fusion Dread coming in the timeline. But Im still confuse when they say sequel to the first game installment?
What I wouldn't want to miss anymore: being able to fire 360 degrees in all directions is a remarkably big advantage of modern METROID sidescrollers compared to the games from the past.
I think I'm the only one that prefers the first Super Mario Galaxy game over the second. I really just don't like how the world map works in SMG2 and Yoshi feels "off" to use at times. Still an amazing game but Galaxy 1 I like way better. Plus, Cosmic Observatory >>>>>>>>> Starship Mario
I actually prefer Galaxy 1 more. It has a much better and deeper story and atmosphere, better Bowser battles, and introduced Rosalina. And while I love the hub and soundtrack and levels of both games immensely, I slightly prefer all three in the first one
*Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, Mario Party 2, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Pikmin 2, Luigi's Mansion 2: Dark Moon, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Pokemon: Gold & Silver, Mario Kart 64 and Metroid Dread* are all the Best Epic Nintendo Sequel Games I've ever played throughout the years!
I remember Pokemon Gold and Silver, I actually made it through most of the game using Cyndaquil/Quilava/Typhlosion in almost every fight. As you can imagine I didn't know how Pokemon was supposed to be played back then.
One Other Thing That Makes Mario Kart 64 Great Is That The Characters Had Voices They Always Made Me Laugh Especially When Getting Hit Or Crashing Into Something 😂😂😂
I dunno about SMG2. It's good, but better than the original? Pressing a bit fat X on it. I mean, how much do you remember of each games? The boss battles? The characters? I'd say SMG wins by the long run. I mean, the official manga spent like 5 volumes on SMG and ONE SINGULAR CHAPTER for SMG2. I think it's saying something
For Me, "Fossil Fighters: Champions" is the best "Fossil Fighters" game (thus far) that fits the criteria of this video. I just wish Nintendo would revive that "Oh-so-worthy-of-existence" franchise...
No, you are not in the minority with Majora's Mask. I love that game! I also do like Melee better because of the solo gameplay. Adventure Mode should have come back.
I maybe in the minority here, but... I prefer the first DKC game over 2. The reason I say this is because the difficulty in the first DKC is more balanced, the music is more memorable, and it's the only game in the SNES trilogy to have Donkey Kong himself as a playable character.
Idk, For me Galaxy 2 kinda dropped the ball on what made Galaxy 1 so special. As far as gameplay, I agree 2 is better, But the atmosphere and story telling of Galaxy 1 absolutely blows 2 out of the water. Just a much more immersive experience IMO, Galaxy 1 also just felt much more epic in comparison. The opening in particular felt like they put SOO much more effort into Galaxy 1, Hub world too. Its such a unique and memorable Mario experience, Def my favorite game in the series next to SMW.
Kirby triple deluxe and planet robobot are both better than returns to dreamland. Side note: Since these two games are almost ROM hacks of Return to Dreamland, there is a chance that these two will also get a remake at some point, probably with a Taranza and a Susie epilogue or Prequel story
@@Daemon1233 That is indeed one thing that Return to Dreamland does better. But as a single player game triple deluxe and planet robobot are both better than returns to dreamland. If we indeed get a remake of those two games, perhaps multiplayer can be added to the game. We already have a king dedede model I triple deluxe and a meta knight model in planet robobot so they only need to make a Bandana Waddle Dee model
I still say I had more fun with Mario Galaxy 1 than 2. Especially collecting star challenges. The Browser boss fights were better in 1 and the set-up was so much more epic and cohesive. Both excellent games though.
Super Mario Bros. 2 (2026) Ft. Yoshi It can go head to head with Street Fighter (2026) If It can find a director don't let down Capcom and Sony I'm rooting for you
including donkey kong country 2 on this list is a huge W, but including mario galaxy 2 is an L. mixed quality list. why not include mario 3? surely nobody disagrees about mario 3 being better than the previous mario games. you included metroid dread so it's fair game.
My personal favorite sequels: Sin and Punishment star successor New Pokemon Snap Mario Strikers Charged Tears of the kingdom New Super Mario Bros Wii Kirby's Adventure Pokemon Black and White 2
Hard take that a lot don’t agree with, but Zelda Majoras Mask is better than Ocarina of Time. Direct sequel made in a fraction of the time Ocarina was (I’ll be it mainly because of reuse of character models) but still better.
I think Tropical Freeze is the best game in the Donkey Kong Country series, followed by DKC2, so I'm with you there. The only better number 2s than the first in the series that you missed are F-Zero X over the original and StarFox 64 over the first game.
At least Super Smash Bros. Melee isn't the #1 spot. That would make the list a bit predictable. Fellow GameCube game Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door deserves the #1 spot more. While TT-YD has fewer playable characters, at least all of them are completely unique, unlike Melee's roster that has several repetitive clones. Mario's moveset is also more interesting in TT-YD, since he can attack with his jump and uses a hammer and Ground Pound. His moveset is SSBM is basic.
Hard agree on all of these except Dread, which I have not played yet, and The Thousand-Year Door. I know I am in the minority, but aside from the combat/badges being a bit better, I don't see any way that it's better than the first game.

Majora's Mask felt way too much like a chore than a game. I respect people who have fond memories of the game and enjoyed it, but it was not my cup of tea
Its great and i can also see why, its holds back because of only 4 dungeon 1 which i hate, the 3 day time can be frustrated. As a sequel to Ocarina of time, Ocarine of time is much better.
@@mattiasolsson1523 It's really hard to compare both games because they're fundamentally different experiences. But what I will say is that in today's age Majora's Mask would probably be considered a DLC pack for Ocarina of Time
