Born and raised in the crop dusting life.. #muchrespect I lived that life for 17 years, and will never forget. Many of you may remember my dad, Buddy Dolan aka "Sky King", flew out of Catron/New Madrid MO and all through AR, TN, KY, MO area back in the 70's and 80's. I am his oldest who actual was hit by him while flagging in 1974. God Bless you all!!!

I'm a flagger for the crop dusters where I live, and aside from being a volunteer fire fighter, it is the coolest job I've ever had.

@AgentMorris94 There's a lot more to being a good ag pilot other than being a good pilot. We have to be good stewards of the land and ecosystem as well. Flying is the easy part!!! Though no matter how hard some of try, there are some that gives the rest of us ag operators bad names and bad publicity. Ag planes are important for the agricultural industry as far harvest aid, and crop meeting treatment schedules when the fields are to wet to get in with ground equipment.

@flyboyzack07 My dad had a couple of friends who were crop dusters, that I got a lot of information from. I was absolutely fascinated by crop dusters, but I never did ask them some questions. Also, I know what you mean about farming and agriculture being a major part of our world, more than people know! I grew up in a major farming community, and if it wasn't for the ag sprayers, boll weevil's and other incests would wreak havoc.

@AgentMorris94 I am with jpduster, we just leave a few passes off and come back later if need be. Airplanes draw people's curiosity a lots of times and they want to watch us, but they don't realize we are watching them as well. We take extreme caution as to what is down wind of where we are spraying and potential drift hazards like ponds, chicken farms, cattle, HUMANS, and all other sort of stuff. Not to mention keeping unwanted chemicals off other farmers crops while applying.

When do you all spray? We are trying to find a crop duster pilot who will tell us where they will be spraying and willing to be interviewed.

I have always wondered if a house is next to the field you're going to spray, and kids are playing outside next to that field do you start at the other end and hope that by the time you get to that side the kids are inside, or what?
