Liked and Subscribed. I am a total noob who just got into working with synths (Roland JDXi, Bass Station 2), MIDI controllers (Novation Launchkey 37) and working with MIDI in general. I am also trying to make the switch from using Audacity to record/write/create music with, to using a DAW (Ableton LIVE Lite 11). Your willingness and ability to break this information down to be easily understood by complete beginners is genuinely appreciated. Thank you!
Thank you for this video. I had no idea of how all this works and now see what direction I need to go to get things synced. It appears my pioneer squid can be a great master IF I get it all up and running. I really should have been purchasing more wisely. Thanks again.
Interesting, great video explanation, find this trying to sync BOSS RC-05 LOOPER & KORG´s VOLCA BEATS, I achieve to conrtrol the tempo knob, but still sound in different speed, I don´t know how to get match
You went Leaps and Bounds to explain this and I am forever in your debt! Thank you so much!I learned so much. I Just wanted the Tempo to sync....but I been playing around with this sync and actually been having some fun with it. The Gaia is actually my first Roland synth and I love it....And got a XM too....Finale got some non-monophonic keyboards, yipee! Working 7 days and when off,I got to scour through vids to hopefully learn these beautiful toys and all it's functions! Again,Thank You!
Hey Nu trix.... thanks for your vlog... I have three devices that I am struggling to sync..... arturia minibrute 2, microfreak and volca drum. I have tried to sync the drum with the freak but no luck.... the closest I have got is the brute (master) via midi input to the drum which works for rate but triggers every beat on the first part on the drum. I haven't had any luck in sync from brute to freak.......My questions are, is there a correct path to connect these three? What menu options might I need to change? Any advice is very welcome. Peace from Wales ✌️
Thanks for the explanations, very useful. It would be cool if you could make the same kind of video for the ASM Hydrasynth series. I use my Hydrasynth explorer as a master with Korg volcas (Drum/Bass/Sample) via midi sync (Volca Drum) and I encounter a lot of sync problems... I have a lot of trouble finding the right settings...
Hey Nu-Trix. Thanks for this. Around 4:35, you mentioned that you'd done a previous video that went into detail about MIDI and pointed to the upper-right corner, but I didn't notice a link there. Any chance you can post a direct link to that other video? (Or perhaps I missed something; that's certainly possible!) Cheers.
Is there any way to use midi to line up the arpeggiator of one synth with a sequencer of a different synth? Or is using a arpeggiator complexly reliant on user timing only?
I’m using Ableton as a master to sync my Behringer RD9. I have a Behringer Ms1 connected via midi cable to my RD9. The RD9 will not slave the MS1 when connected to Ableton but will slave it if I just run the RD9 and ms1 together. Any suggestions
My guess is that the RD9 automatically sync to the USB MIDI from Live. It is totally normal. A MIDi slave device cannot follow 2 master clock, only one. If you want the ms1 to drive everything, then it should be master of Live and Live master of the RD9

That was very helpful, thank you. I was really confused about a lot of that. Gonna go play with wires

Brilliantly explained
Very good explanation. Helps when buying new gear. Thanks!

Cool! Thank Bro!
Last?
Also great video. People need to use more midi.
last what?
@@Nu-trix Instead of First, I imagine, looking at the posting time. I think his sync is out :)

I'll try to get my hands on a Hydrasynth to check it out.
@@Nu-trix I hope you find one, it's an incredible synth!

Updated. Thanks for heads up !

I’m using a bass station 2 along with a minibrute 2s and wanna have the arpeggiator of the bass station line up perfectly with the minibrute
