    OMG!! Bro, ballz size of the universe. Both Kauli and the filmer. This angle is way more inside than usual.

      Filmer was a little shaky... but I guess forgivable when you thinkin you might die.

      The question is: how did he survive? He is going over the falls there. Even in 3 or 4ft surf you can get slammed into the floor, hard ...

      When Teahupoo is that big, I don't think anybody makes it out. It might be because they have to use short boards if they tow in, which fade back up the face.

  • @markbardagjy5009
    @markbardagjy5009 2 ปีที่แล้ว +17

    Trying to think of something to say, I'm shaking my head for five minutes. Maybe the angle but that looks like the heaviest/biggest Teahupu wave I've ever seen. From the first frame I knew he was going to get devoured. It moves so fast and the bowl is basically a vertical wall. Absolutely amazing!! Glad he's ok I cannot imagine what a wipeout like that is like

      That's a pretty thick and juicy wave!!!!! I wonder does the underwater ragdolling experience happen super quick and you don't remember it or does it suck?????????

    This is amazing! So different from a GoPro pov from the rider. I’ve seen GoPro edits that make this wave look” soft and inviting “😂. This perspective is what I really enjoy. The rider, disappeared below sea level, only to be pulled up and over by this absolutely terrifying freak of nature monster. Liked and subbed. Thanks for posting this

  • @ApprenticeGM

    Everything was going fine at the 30 seconds mark, then just a bit too much inside rail, probably didn't adjust for the insane board speed he had on an absolute freight train, then a few seconds later - probably 1 second in real life - he's going over the falls with / inside the lip and still strapped in . . . hope he survived uninjured from an insanely heavy wipeout. Massive respect to the surfer, and huge credit to Manea for the amazing footage, takes balls swimming in that location to get the footage. You can see in the first few seconds of filming how much water is moving around on that reef, skill and stamina needed to maintain position. What epic video thanks for sharing!

      I'm not quite sure why he never tries. Even until the last moment he's holding the left rail in. However, there must be a good reason, perhaps it's the speed of the upswing after his hurried bottom turn, I don't know how slowed down this is, or body off balance preventing a quick reaction. I know that for me it'd be the blind terror and shitting in my pants taking all of my concentration if they weren't full of shit already from the centuries long ride to get down the face before I could turn, wondering how the fuck my mates had talked me into suicide.
