I am with you on the windows, on extremely hot days, I always keep them closed and draw the blinds. I get that it's dark and it drives my wife crazy but the fact is, it is degrees cooler. As for your accent, we are who we are and commenting on it, is disrespectful and rude, my god! just imagine a world where we all spoke and sounded the same? Ignore the bad comments, as for the "My dear" comment, how condescending is that. Oh and "like," you should definitely wave your arms whilst shouting a lot. Enjoy your channel immensely. Thank you.
How very sad that people can be so unpleasant. Anyone who moves to the UK and makes a positive contribution is welcome. You are doing a great job. Ignore the haters.
Quite so. What the Net does tho' is give *everyone* a voice that is, largely, without consequence, so that tiny percentage of people that are {expletive deleted} get to be heard by everyone and never get the punch in the bracket they deserve. It's taken me a decade but I have finally reached the point where it only takes a single post and response for me to be able to 'let go' of a conversation with one of those people; whereas in the past I would go back and forth trying to argue in good faith when all they want to do is wind you up. One thing I have learned is to have a quick look at their profile before responding to a 'hook' comment and if it is relatively new and has no content on it then that is a good sign that it is a 'burner' and you're dealing with a Troll.
I know. There are some awful people presenting videos on TH-cam. Vain, vacuous dullards with nothing to say,but take an hour to say it"Girl Gone London",is so cute. It`s astounding at times where people choose to unload their bile. Great name by the way David. I have one just like it. Some say it`s common. I prefer the word,Popular. Ha ha
I agree but really don't think she should engage with people on their level as s is starting to do in the video. She should take the 'Dogs bark at the moon but the moon doesn't bark back' approach as it will only lead to inciting some Internet trolls to continually bite (to follow my dog analogy :-))
I agree with you my friend absolutely disgusting and unfortunately it may rub off on us and more than that ,why would you want to say something so rude to someone who really does seem to be so polite and far from combative and makes such great light hearted ,informative videos of which put a smile upon my face as soon as I hear and see this ladies video . Imagine how crap those people's lives must be ,that they are that disgusting of a person;
Freedom of speech is great but when that freedom is used to abuse and be a complete ,chav like low life then these people should have their jaws wired shut !!
The older generation were more resilient, that went down the pan with social media! Celebrities are on all the time being rude, so kids think it is fine until it happens to them, then it's "boo-hoo"!
My gran used to say “If they’re talking about me, they’re leaving some other poor soul alone”..., which is clearly the attitude you’ve adopted, and quite right too.
There was a reason that we have a separate hot and cold tap , back in the day, hot water was supplied by a storage tank often placed in the loft. It would heat up the water over time, so it would never be as fresh and could get contaminated during the process. Hence, it was decided to keep hot and cold water separately in order to keep cold water safe to drink as the cold water came from the mains =-0
"Back in the day" ! What are you talking about? My hot water still does come from a hot water tank or boiler as we quaintly refer to it. Are you talking about one of those new fangled Quooka taps??
I've lived the hottest day recorded in the history of UK (38ºC, Cambridge in 2019) and I can tell the best way of keeping the house cooler is to close everything, blinds, curtains... EVERYTHING you have. My place looked like a cave, very dark, and it didn't go above 29ºC. I laughed a bit when I saw some windows opened 😂... People, if outside it's 38ºC and you open the window, the house is going to increase the temperature!! 😂. I guess being from the south of Spain helps with the experience 😄
If you open the window on a hot still day, all you are going to do is increase the heat in the room. I don't get why people would think any differently.
The lockdown really has lead to far too many people having far too much time on their hands (even if there hands are immaculately clean from washing them properly). It has to be bad when they can not only spare the time to watch videos that either bore or annoy them and then still have spare time to leave a comment but this is good for you because positive or negative counts just the same to the TH-cam algorithm.
@@GirlGoneLondonofficial Talking of Broadmoor, there is a fascinating and true story about a very clever US citizen who was an inmate there. The book is called; 'The Professor and The Madman'.
You’ve been here 10 years. you are home who ever told you to go home needs a slap. I find you funny in a good way and it’s nice to hear your opinion on the uk compared to the USA some people need to put others dawn to make them selfs feel better unfortunately but thanks for your videos keep them coming 😁
The correct way to wash your hands under separate taps is as follows: Shut off the water supply. Fit a mixer tap. Turn on the water supply. Bin the old separate taps. Individual taps were fitted for a reason, but that no longer applies.
lol very true. I spent the first 40 years of my life using hot and cold taps then had a new kitchen and bathroom fitted with mixer taps........ Now I really had no problem with 2 separate taps but mixer taps are an improvement. Progress is a thing, you either ignore it or embrace it :)
Indeed Lol, I think most British people now swap over to mixer taps when they renovate. There were historical reasons for the separate taps as Roy says. I agree with you that mixer taps are better. I swapped over when I renovated my bathrooms.
Never realised until I moved away how things I presumed were normal, may not be normal for everyone. Like you've already mentioned, bagging your own shopping, having a washing machine in the kitchen and saying Hoovering instead of vacuuming. Also have you ever had to explain to someone what a Lorry is? Love the videos, Shame about the haters. Can never work out why people who dislike things can't just watch something else instead. Thumbs up for putting yourself out there. Think I would run out of things to talk about after my first video
I see why your husband courted you. You have a subtle and quite sarcastic sense of humour, very British! Kudos for being teflon with regards to the negative 'feedback'. You are most welcome to the UK and I hope you find joy daily.
I've lived in Scotland (moved from Oregon) for 9 years now. For all the haters out there... You will NEVER know how difficult it is to move to a new country. Keep making these videos, I bet loads of people are finding it useful. I would have ☺️
Thanks for watching Nicole!! I've never been to Oregon but worked for one of their university campuses in London for a while and my students always said Oregon weather was very similar to the UK, which I found interesting!
It never occurred to me to find expats here in the UK to help me settle in, in my first five years here. Wish I had. Now that I've had 10 years next month I am well settled in. I hope you've had more positive TH-cam experiences than negative ones, my dear!!
Very funny video! I love that you don’t take yourself too seriously. I have a few observations: First of all, I have friends from the UK who have lived here in the US (one has been here since she was 17 - almost 20 years) and they still have their accents. Or at least enough of it that people will recognize it and ask where they’re from. I think it’s great because it is a piece of who they are and where they come from. Second, growing up in New England (US) where there are many old houses, I am familiar with separate hot and cold taps and I LOVE the look of them, especially the pretty ceramic ones. Unfortunately, they are huge water wasters because you either freeze/burn or you have to fill up the sink. Not very Earth-friendly. Also, dish pans (which I believe are the equivalent to “washing up bowls”) are used here in the US but you really only find them in the kitchens of older people. I think it was prevalent in previous generations but has gone out of style for whatever reason. I think they were a good, water-saving option for those who only have a single sink as opposed to a double sink. Lastly, I think it’s a sad commentary on society as a whole, no matter what country you are from, that people feel comfortable making hurtful/judgmental comments from behind a computer that they would be reluctant to make in person. Keep doing you! It’s great to watch and I really enjoy your candid observations of both countries.
What the fudge does "Props" mean? You're correct there are days in England when there is no breeze and it is blazing hot. I remember one of those in 1976.
@@GirlGoneLondonofficial Even the bad comments aren`t that bad. PG12 rating. You should read some of the comments directed towards some other TH-camrs. Ha ha. You seem to be pretty popular.
Of all the videos I have watched on TH-cam, yours are my favourite, (pause when you go into a corner and vomit as a result of my ingratiating comments.) You must be doing something right, with so many followers. I find that you are very even handed in your discourse, and insightfully amusing. Washbasin taps may need rethinking here, but we have grown up with them, and even we sometimes burn our hands under the hot tap. I love how you get so much joy out of travelling in the UK, as Brits we don't appreciate it enough. Even the British born get things wrong, when I moved to London from Glasgow 60 years ago, I lived in the South east for 40 years, when with a large group of my English friends, I silenced a room by calling my trainers sanies: in the late 50s trainers as a description was not used and were called sandshoes in Scotland, so I referred to the trainers I was wearing my sannies to the English people in the room sannies meant sanitary towels, so I got looks of amazement.
My mum is American and has lived here for 34 years now. I reckon your time is yet to come where your accent changes (though rest assured!) she still has little twangs that make her American origin known, but just pronounces things in a more Mancunian accent. Been enjoying your videos!
Sorry that anyone left awful comments, I don't know what's wrong with their lives that they have to be like that. It's not exactly putting their best foot forward is it? Most people should find your videos happy and entertaining, I'm glad it doesn't get to you!
You are lovely, and this post is spot on, especially about opening the window on a stifling summer's day. So ignore the fools who criticise you, they've got no self-esteem, which is why they post stuff like this. And I have used the term Crimbo many times. And 'soccer' is perfectly acceptable for football. Stay safe
@@alucardskyflyer4237 Soccer was originally the British term. Association football was shortened to soc football and then simply to soccer. We then later started calling it football.
I grew up in Bolton, Lancashire with 4 ballsy sisters. It puts a warm smile on my face to watch an in-your-face, opinionated, smart American Lass bowling over the gobby skittles. ( I've always washed my hands in cold water. It's the soap that cleans them not the water temperature )
Warm water helps to remove grease etc so you wash your skin and not the grease etc. Cold is ok if your just giving a rinse but if they are dirty warm is better.
@@johnclements6614 Nope, soap molecules are pin-shaped. One end binds with water molecules, the other end binds with oil and fat molecules. The lather lifts the oil, fats germs and grease from the skin. Then the water rinses it away. Nowt much to do with temperature at all.
I've watched a couple of your video and am deeply impressed by the work and time you've put into them. Very helpful certainly for visitors. Ignore the idiots. Keep up the good work - and your sense of fun!
I have several British friends in Texas that have lived here for decades and still have their accents. So not too uncommon to retain your accent living elsewhere.
I suppose a bad reaction is better than no reaction. I'm British and lived in Dallas, TX for over 12 years. I remember going to a night club downtown and one of the employees asked me where I was from. I was born in Liverpool and immediately the whole place wanted to know me. They all thought I must know the Beatles! I found the people in Texas very friendly and have a lot of affection for Americans. I admire the way you reacted to the bad comments. Some Brits are so far up their own backsides ........... However, most of us are ok.
Thank you for watching! That's so funny that you say that as we took my British husband to Dallas a few years ago to visit a friend of mine, and we ended up in Waco on a day trip to see Magnolia Market and the cashiers all crowded around him and asked me if I "asked him to talk all of the day to listen to his accent." He was loving it!!!
@@GirlGoneLondonofficial I bet he was!! I can't deny that for the first few months, I loved the reaction to my accent, and to be honest, I was consciously raising the volume a little to get the attention. Those were the days....... young, free and single! The absolute best time was when I lived in Valley Ranch, close to the Dallas Cowboys (my favourite US team of course) training ground. When I found out that the cheerleaders also trained there, I just had to drop in and say hello........
Why are people so unpleasant to you Karyn. I'm a proud Welsh man and I love your accent. So don't listen to these negative comments. I think you are an amazing young lady. Love you to bits bless you xx
@@GirlGoneLondonofficial It's such an easy thing to do. I was going to visit the UK for the first time last year, but my plan was derailed by COVID. I will come back to consult your video on some of the most overrated places in London when the borders finally open up. Thank you in advance.
Take no notice of those rude people. I think your observations and comments are entirely accurate and delivered in a refreshingly articulate manner. Keep it up!
I'm a Brit & I'm with you - I hate having 2 taps to the point that every time I've moved house the first thing I do is change the sinks & install mixer taps as soon as possible! They make life so much easier!
I am a Brit and I prefer separate taps. In this country we have a choice. I do not understand the stupid inane conversation about the difficulties of separate taps. It is ridiculous. I think Americans are mad not having kettles. How daft is that!
First of all, I really enjoy your channel! As an American married to a Brit (hehe) for over 20 years and having also lived both places, I can really relate to the interesting and amusing differences between the two countries. And yes, I can remember feeling culture shock over separate hot and cold taps. These days I just smile and say to myself, "It's not right or wrong. . . just different." Keep doing a great job. And from one currently living "stateside," enjoy all the best the UK has to offer. I can't wait to move back some day.
The thing about people who defend separate taps is they're just insecure and embarrassed because they haven't modernised their bathrooms or kitchens for a long time. No-one who has experienced mixer taps would voluntarily choose separate taps, given the choice. That's not to say they're bad, necessarily, just mixer taps are better. Some people need to stop being so thin-skinned and taking everything, especially trivial things, as a personal attack
I’m a dual UK/US citizen that has lived extensively in both countries. Many places in the US don’t have A/C, so it’s not a British thing. After 37 years in the US I still have a British accent. I don’t use a lot of British words because they are redundant here. I don’t agree with people leaving hate comments. I moved to the US before the internet so there weren’t a lot of resources on US culture. Many people believe what they see in TV shows and make assumptions which is a terrible guide. It takes time to blend into a new way of life.
Hi Kalyn. I'm from Telford , Shropshire UK. I think you should ignore the hate comments. It's their problem..not yours! I think you're lovely !! May I take this opportunity to say how much I enjoy your posts. They're funny, informative and you're a natural behind the camera. Ignore the haters, keep up the good work, you're an asset to my country, the UK. 🇬🇧🏴
Hello .... I am Swedish and we don't have much air conditioning in our houses and apartments either. We can have really hot summers up here. This is a tip how you can do with your windows. You've probably thought about this already, but still. I open several windows .... and balcony door if you have a balcony so I get some cross draught. It works about 95 % of the time. The other 5 % it's when the air is unreal, insanely still, without a slightest breeze. But then you can ''help the cross draught'' with a little fan. I wish you a nice....and cooler.... summer!
How to get rid of heat on a hot day? Try this. I went to Guadalajara when they were having a heatwave. The room I booked had 'air conditioning' but when I got there the air-con turned out to be a fan. At night, even with the window open, the room was too hot to sleep in. I tried drawing the cooler air in using the fan but it made no difference, I was still sweating like a pig. Then I found the solution. Turn the fan around so that it points towards the window, move it a metre or so away from the window and blow the hot air out. The room started to cool within seconds.
Genius! Thanks for sharing! I'm still not used to how to cool down someplace that doesn't have AC because I'm just so used to it in Florida. WIll try this!
Two taps had a hygienic reason because of the tank in the attic, modern houses now have mixer taps. But, many of your complainers don't seem to know this and will happily cleanse themselves under a large mixture tap called a shower. Ignore the negative and keep up the good work.
Some people find offence and decide to hate best to ignore or laugh at them. As a Brit lot older than you I love seeing your you tube videos. Make me smile and laugh everyday.
I enjoyed this and i'm glad you didn't take their comments to heart. 🥰🥰 Ps I never noticed the you over using "like". Pps. Two taps was originally to stop the spread of bacteria in your drinking water (bacteria from the hot tap/plumming). But, we just kept on using them even after they were no longer needed. I think newer houses are going towards the mixer taps 👍
I'm so glad you laughed at those comments 🤣 👍that is the best way laugh at them, you reading them out made me laugh 😅 I've no idea what the issue with the term Brit. I say I am British. I like American accents. The deep south cam sound a bit odd, but tbh I like it also 😄 haha
I think you have dealt with these comments in the absolutely perfect way I have never understood why some people feel the need to comment so hursley on a video on TH-cam with somebody has just made in an attempt to share information and entertain if they don't like it let them turn is off don't change a thing just keep making your videos
Having an American accent after 10 years is perfectly normal, my parents came from Ireland in the 1930's and had their accent until they passes away 60yrs later
Keep your accent. It's the children who will speak differently. My parents were also incomers and never changed their accent, but did sometimes moderate it for others.
BTW, the reason we have separate taps in the UK is because traditional British houses used to have hot water in a separate tank (usually in the loft), sometimes open to the elements, and is not safe to drink. By having hot & cold as entirely separate, it means there is no chance of cross-contamination. A lot of houses have been upgraded to combination boilers now (with no tank), but the tradition remains.
I am sorry to hear about the bad comments, they are so undeserved. I feel the need to apologise. Keep up the good work. You are a real asset and treasure to the UK.
American homes and some I’ve seen in Germany have a basement area where washing and drying is done, newer houses in Britain often have a separate utility room which is ideal to keep clothes away from the kitchen.
I find your videos informative and entertaining. It's interesting to me to hear about an American living in another country. I feel like British people would be happy that you are trying to inform others on their cultural differences from first hand knowledge of possible faux pas that you may have committed. You can't make everyone happy though. Keep up the good work. 😊
I love your videos. Being a British ex-pat in The Netherlands, I love hearing about the unique elements of British life from an outsiders perspective; something which I have experienced with the Dutch way of life. Originally I am from the Liverpool area, and we say ‘like’ there a lot, too. And non-mixer taps are useless.
I don't understand why the haters just don't switch you off! Boom, done. You always make it clear your comments are just your opinions. I enjoy your videos with the way you are so observant about UK life. You often have me in stiches. Keep up the good work. 👍😁
I love your accent and your channel. I’ve been bingeing on your videos for hours. I am Spanish and living in UK for 30 years ++. English husband. It annoyed me for years that I never lost my (mild) Spanish accent, mannerisms and body language. After the debacle of Brexit and naturalisation, I am actually quite proud of it all. It is who I am and my life journey. Haters gonna hate, but it is easier to ignore them as the ignoramus they are. I have some American friends and some Israeli friends that I think are quite similar in their high self-esteem. It can be good for the mental health!
I keep the curtains closed on the sunny side of my house when it's blazing. I also have the windows shut if it's hotter outside than in, which it often is thanks to having good insulation; no point in letting hot air into a cool house.
I find your videos really interesting. You are very watchable and easy to listen to. Keep them coming! I am happy to be called a Brit and have heard the term crimbo. I have no idea what the square footage of my house is.
Why would anyone leave hate comments on the GGL channel It's rapidly becoming my favourite channel to watch, and I follow a lot of car TH-camrs..you keep vlogging, you are amazing 👌
Hi. Loving your blogs. Just found them and working through them. Great and interesting. I’m old enough to remember crimbo being mentioned by John Lennon of the Beatles. I think it was in his book of poetry, John Zlrnnon in his own write. Haven’t heard it referred to crimbo for years. Love your take on us Brits. Pleased you like it here. Bob x
Full marks to you for doing this video! I think I’ve mentioned that I have a weekly radio show that’s syndicated in the USA and Australia. Some people get a bee in their bonnet and want to scold us for what’s annoyed them. It’s true in all forms of media including both TH-cam videos and radio that you can’t please everybody no matter what you do I have found that the way you just handled these negative ones results in the best outcome. If they wrote the comment to make you curl up in the corner and cry then f*** em they failed if they wanted to show how superior they were then f*** em they just showed us all how shallow and simple they are. If they wanted to get you to change something about yourself then being mean and small minded is not very likely to get the desired result.
Thank you Mike! Glad to have your perspective on what you deal with in radio as well. I've been getting these comments since I started in December and finally had the courage to do a video. You're so right about people wanting to basically just take out their own frustrations on other people, and people in the public eye are easier to do it to. Keep on keeping on!
Mixer taps and hand washing : I remember in the '50s there was a lot of propaganda against wasting water. (England doesn't have a lot of it.) Washing hands under a running tap was often given as a bad thing to do. My objection to a mixer tap is that you turn it on and out comes cold water, so you move the lever, put your hand under the tap, and suddenly it's boiling hot water. Ouch!
The comment about your accent after 10 years of living here being still strong American. I’m from Hampshire in Southern England, I have lived in South Wales for over 30 years and my accent is just as strong.
Not alone on the Bank Card Reader....got one for my bank, for authorising stuff. And big + on the opening window comment. It doesn't always work...I would love AC
@18:48, in a previous flat my washing machine was in the bathroom and that was a conscious decision since I was renovating the place from scratch. Having the washing in the kitchen is actually pretty "gross" since your soiled clothes will contaminate the air where you prepare food. However, the truth is that British homes are small and having a washing machine indoor is a relatively novel thing. The housewife either did it all by hand in a zinc tub or with the coming of the laundrette, a once a week trip up the high street.
It's refreshing to see someone so erudite and down to earth who doesn't try to extol the virtues of one country over the other (most of the time) and gives an honest opinion. Who cares about the accent or the odd "wrong" word to describe something, neither are a crime are they? I'm ashamed on behalf of some of these "so called" people who don't seem to happy unless they're belittling someone over something trivial or absolutely nothing at all. Keep being you and forget the trash talk that passes for the comments section.
🤣🤣...who wakes up in the morning and decides to post hate on social media other than a sad Muppet ...all it does, is say more about them than you 🤷....some people can only hate as there self esteem is so low, but I won't judge them as there probably incredibly bullied that the only way they feel they can get control is to hide and be negative back to others 🤷
I was quite entertained by your witty and vibrant personality; maybe because I am am an American I am finding it hard to understand why, with all the turmoil going on in the world, people would find any of these things you mentioned offensive to either side. As I have frequently said, if we all were exactly alike all but one of us would be unnecessary; people need to lighten up and just relax, and laugh a little bit. This was my first time to your channel and you made me smile even if you do use your arm to make your points or the word “like” happens to be your go to word of choice which I did not even notice until you mentioned it. So count me a new subscriber because I find you real, relatable and fun.👍👍🇺🇸

Yes, I do appreciate the help they give me with the algorithm, haha. Hopefully sunnier weather and some freedom will help us all chill out a bit!
I think I can help you with the "Brits - HUMAN SEWAGE" commenter. Best I can guess is they're on the waitlist for Broadmoor.
Had to look up Broadmoor, so now I learned something new and had a laugh. Thank you!
@@GirlGoneLondonofficial Talking of Broadmoor, there is a fascinating and true story about a very clever US citizen who was an inmate there. The book is called; 'The Professor and The Madman'.
😂 😂 😂 That commentator obviously mixes in different circles from the rest of us.
You’ve been here 10 years. you are home who ever told you to go home needs a slap. I find you funny in a good way and it’s nice to hear your opinion on the uk compared to the USA some people need to put others dawn to make them selfs feel better unfortunately but thanks for your videos keep them coming 😁

@@GirlGoneLondonofficial thanks for making them worth watching 😁
"There is only one thing in life worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about." Oscar Wilde
Another of my favourite Wilde quotation: "Do you consider this book immoral?" "It was worse: it was badly written".
The correct way to wash your hands under separate taps is as follows:
Shut off the water supply.
Fit a mixer tap.
Turn on the water supply.
Bin the old separate taps.
Individual taps were fitted for a reason, but that no longer applies.
This made me laugh Roy!! Will use that in the future!
lol very true.
My basin is a mixer, but I went for separate taps for the bath. It's not a problem.
Where abouts in Oregon? I was in Medford for a good while.
I'm an Australian that has moved to Oregon, been here 12 years. I agree with your comments. I'm still getting used to living here in the States.
I thought the Scots only hated the English.
Best way laugh at them. Even better laugh at them in public😂
Very funny video! I love that you don’t take yourself too seriously. I have a few observations:
First of all, I have friends from the UK who have lived here in the US (one has been here since she was 17 - almost 20 years) and they still have their accents.
Yes I remember that, in the USA when it gets hot they have ""brown out" which is a collapse of the electrical system
You know you've made it on TH-cam when you get that much hate mail. Lol
Was really proud of myself for even having enough comments to make a full video out of the bad ones. Would have dreamed of that months ago!
@@GirlGoneLondonofficial Even the bad comments aren`t that bad. PG12 rating. You should read some of the comments directed towards some other TH-camrs. Ha ha. You seem to be pretty popular.
Of all the videos I have watched on TH-cam, yours are my favourite, (pause when you go into a corner and vomit as a result of my ingratiating comments.)
You must be doing something right, with so many followers.
You're right with opening a window. Everybody, who's intelligent, knows that hot air doesn't cool down a room.
Were not all like that ,but you know that having lived here for 10 years .
My mum is American and has lived here for 34 years now. I reckon your time is yet to come where your accent changes (though rest assured!) she still has little twangs that make her American origin known, but just pronounces things in a more Mancunian accent. Been enjoying your videos!
You'll never lose your accent and neither should you try to.
Most people speak the accent they had in their teenage days x
Sorry that anyone left awful comments, I don't know what's wrong with their lives that they have to be like that. It's not exactly putting their best foot forward is it? Most people should find your videos happy and entertaining, I'm glad it doesn't get to you!
You are lovely, and this post is spot on, especially about opening the window on a stifling summer's day. So ignore the fools who criticise you, they've got no self-esteem, which is why they post stuff like this. And I have used the term Crimbo many times. And 'soccer' is perfectly acceptable for football. Stay safe
Soccer instead of football is NEVER!!!! acceptable LOL
@@alucardskyflyer4237 Soccer was originally the British term. Association football was shortened to soc football and then simply to soccer. We then later started calling it football.
@@Bazlovesmusic. lol I know I was messing around.
My dad has lived in England for 69 out of his 94 years and still has his Irish accent. 🙂

Just found your videos, I think they’re great, thank you for contributing to our country in such a positive way. Ignore the trolls
I admire the way you're open to observations, even (and maybe especially) when they're snarky. I'm really enjoying your videos. : )
I'm sooo behind you on the 'open the window' quote! sometimes it makes it worse! I got you girl you're so right! lol!
I don't usually open a window until the temp outside is lower than inside. Usually after dark in the summer.
Thank you for your vote of confidence, Michael! Really appreciate you watching!
Exactly.
I worked in London for 30 years and love the visitors, it makes it all so vibrant and colourful. There's an amazing buzz in the city.
That's so funny that you say that as we took my British husband to Dallas a few years ago to visit a friend of mine, and we ended up in Waco on a day trip to see Magnolia Market and the cashiers all crowded around him and asked me if I "asked him to talk all of the day to listen to his accent."
He was loving it!!!
Lol that's too funny. Good for you.
Why are people so unpleasant to you Karyn. I'm a proud Welsh man and I love your accent. So don't listen to these negative comments. I think you are an amazing young lady. Love you to bits bless you xx
I normally skip through commercials, but this time I did not. From now on I will let them play to show my support for you.
Aw thank you! That's so kind. :)
@@GirlGoneLondonofficial It's such an easy thing to do. I was going to visit the UK for the first time last year, but my plan was derailed by COVID. I will come back to consult your video on some of the most overrated places in London when the borders finally open up. Thank you in advance.
There will be plenty more awesome videos about things to do in London and the UK coming up, so I hope you'll find them useful!
I like you and your videos.Entertaining and informative.
Thank you so much for watching!
Thank you for watching!! Will eat some Cadburys for you until you can come back to the UK. :)
Lol, cheers!
I enjoy your videos, clear, informative and you've answered a lot of misconceptions about American life / people. Keep up the great work!! Best wishes & Peace Be With You always.

I wish you a nice....and cooler.... summer!
Best thing you can do is just laugh at the haters, you are doing a grand job with these post please keep them coming 👍👍👍
You're made it! Congrats. The haters obviously think your video's are worth their time! 😏😁
Spot on about opening a window , it lets the warm air in.
Two taps had a hygienic reason because of the tank in the attic, modern houses now have mixer taps.
But, many of your complainers don't seem to know this and will happily cleanse themselves under a large mixture tap called a shower.
Ignore the negative and keep up the good work.
My mum used to say if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say it at all
CLOSE the window. AND the curtains. Keep the hot air OUT.
Social media is an outlet for people to hate who would never say these things to your face. Props to you for brushing it off. Keep smiling 😃
Ignore the haters, they're just being arses because it makes them feel big. I love your videos, they're funny and often just so true.

Some people find offence and decide to hate best to ignore or laugh at them. As a Brit lot older than you I love seeing your you tube videos. Make me smile and laugh everyday.
I enjoyed this and i'm glad you didn't take their comments to heart. 🥰🥰
Ps I never noticed the you over using "like".
Pps. Two taps was originally to stop the spread of bacteria in your drinking water (bacteria from the hot tap/plumming). But, we just kept on using them even after they were no longer needed.
I think newer houses are going towards the mixer taps 👍
I'm so glad you laughed at those comments 🤣 👍that is the best way laugh at them, you reading them out made me laugh 😅
I've no idea what the issue with the term Brit. I say I am British.
I like American accents. The deep south cam sound a bit odd, but tbh I like it also 😄 haha

You get a thumbs up from me 👍
You'll never please everyone.
Enjoyed when she gets increasingly exasperated about the comments. Very funny😂🤣😂🤣
BTW Washing up bowls are great👍👍👍
BTW, the reason we have separate taps in the UK is because traditional British houses used to have hot water in a separate tank (usually in the loft), sometimes open to the elements, and is not safe to drink. By having hot & cold as entirely separate, it means there is no chance of cross-contamination. A lot of houses have been upgraded to combination boilers now (with no tank), but the tradition remains.
Thank you for providing a sensible answer.
During an extreme heatwave in the UK a few years ago, the health advice was not to open windows.
Would that be because of the emissions from traffic? Makes sense.
One of the funniest videos I've seen for a long time; glad you don't get upset by the idiots (but you are clearly wrong about washing-up bowls)
I think you're great, I love watching you talk about the difference between America and Britain
I enjoy your views on life as an American living in the UK. We can all learn from one another.

Why would anyone leave hate comments on the GGL channel
It's rapidly becoming my favourite channel to watch, and I follow a lot of car TH-camrs..you keep vlogging, you are amazing 👌

I can't believe some people are so hateful. Ignore them, I love watching you. 🇬🇧
Aw thanks so much for watching Marianna!
