I'd love to see Steven get the team back together and do another series for Starz even if it isn't in the Spartacus universe. I'm really going to miss this style of television. Nothing else compares.
I think he's right about keeping some tissues close by! I wish they could make this show longer but they do have to follow history. This has been my favorite show and I shall revisit every episode on my bluray player but still so sad to see it end. Well done boys :)
Well said Sir!.. Liam and Andy are both epic in their own way. It was awesome to see how Andy developed the character of Sparty from a noob Gladiator to a God of the arena! Toward the end of Blood and sand Andy portrayed an epic Spartacus! Then Liam came in and showed the character as a true leader, the kind of leader that will cut your face off to show you who's the boss! I loved both sides of the same epic coin..
I'm So glad that they decided to make the rebels fight the Romans instead of Roman vs Roman. It was Epic seeing Spartacus, Gannicus and the others make sport of the Romans, like Bosses! It made the episode for me, now i'm excited and sad to see the last episode.
i think about spartacus when i am not watching the show...it has effected me profoundly to the point and i have no one in my personal circle to tell or give me feedback...most of the conversations in spartcus is applicable to real life
best moments in spartacus series for me 1. spartacus vs thracians 2. spartaucs vs glabers men in the pool 3. spartacus yelling at duro after varros death 4. spartacus speech after arelia's death 5. spartacus speech after slaps agron for lying about naveia 6. spartacus vs glabers men after rescuing naveia 7. spartacus pwns sedulus 8. spartacus and crixus clash swords after slaughter 9. spartacus and crixus conversation before crixus death 10. speech at end of ep 9 war of the damned
Yes it is a shame Andy passed I absolutely loved his spartacus but you can't blame them for that fault, it just is how it is. Also I completely respect him that he is doing 3 seasons and wrapping it up nicely and (mostly) historically accurate rather than dragging it out with more unnecessary seasons just for more $.
Johnbr59, i am watching epsiode and cannot stop thinking about what you wrote..and if SDK kills off spartacus i will not watch any of the series again! i see it has 4 yrs of waste as Andy and Liam was personalized as heroes to me..my people were oppress and put into slavery in america- so i took spartacus seriously because he was correct in his thinking. Your right, all the plots leading up to the finale epsiode and then to kill of spartacus & gannicus-no more SDK for me. Thanks for responding
Yeh I was hoping for the same! At least some hint towards a baby. Same with Laeta, there could have been hints towards a baby Spartacus, the bloodline carrying on.
thousands parish in battle along with spartacus and 6000 slaves were crucified on apian road (like about 100 miles from rome to kapua)actually still there i saw the beginning of apian road during my trip to rome..
spartacus existed--as did slavery & oppression- spartacus is not just any show- you can actually walk away from it having learned something- even about relationships, trust, loyalty..for me- its personal. i do not expect others to understand my heart
There was so much more they could have covered and in addition to that, the events they DID portray actually needed longer treatment. Half of those episodes could have been 2 hours long. It could have taken half a season just to get to the point where they had an army - instead they show a brief flashback to the liberating of the mines of Lucania and that was that. Even Spartacus's early victory portrayed in the first couple of episodes felt hollow - not enough build up or pacing or suspense.
I think SDK here said that now Spartacus is fighting Rome in order to give the slaves unable to fight a chance to escape. This could be the "Victory" that the episode is showing. That even though Spartacus fell, his objective was accomplished at least in part. Crassus is gonna get screwed in spite of his Victory.
i didn't say it was liams fault for not giving any other characters a chance to shine, i said that the lack of episode time didn't give any characters the chance to shine.
Please speak for yourself, because alot of people love War of the Damned and it did not ruin the serie in any way. If it did for you then it's your loss. This season is imo amazing, like every other season of Spartacus was.
Why should he be kidding if he thinks Liam is better than Andy?! Also i like that this series focus as much time on the opposing side as on the rebel side. This creates a grey area where the people who watch can decide who they are rooting for. Atleast that's the way i see it. Again if you don't like this season fine, but i am 100% sure you are in the minority.
both liam and andy were brillant, but if i was to pick i would actually go for liam, anyways wat an epic ending to a brillant show, nothing will ever beat it,dont care wat anyone says it had everything
no we were not expecting an happy ending, but SDK said that he would leave us with something and that no one would be nailed to the cross like in the spartacus movies with kirk douglas--he left us with nothing
i wish a filmmaker would even consider doing a series on John Horse (1823) in america,,he lead the largest slave revolt in US history--he and spartacus had a lot in common--but most people never even hear of him- how shameful
i'd say gods of the arena is the gannicus spinoff. in fact that worked so well they could probably go back to the ludus and just make more episodes based on that, ha! bring back batiatus!
steven said bring a couple of boxes of hankies cause we will need them:( I cannot believe my reaction to the character of Spartacus! I see something in myself that I have been suppressing for yrs and literallly turn numb toward...but the character of spartacus have bought those thoughts back to my conscious. if spartacus dies (that i do not believe so) what message will that send to all those who believe in doing the right thing by and for others?
i like what you wrote...but remember the war of spartacus only lasted two yrs in real life. but you are so correct in that SDK &co. could have added two or three more epsiodes..unbelievable..i google starz cancelled spartacus and read what was written...others say starz did not cancelled..just mess up like you said
Johnbr59 is not spouting hate..he is expressing his opinion and is in disagreement with how the show is ending. He is free to do so you are instigating...can't you tell?
CONTINUED (not including the prequel) is simply absurd. It was crazy to think that you could cover all events in the story of spartacus between the fall of Glaber to defeat at the hands of Crassus in 10 episodes. Heck, even Spartacus's formative years in the ludus got longer treatment (13 episodes). The fact is, Vengeance was still a great season, and Spartacus deserved at least 2 more. War of the Damned rushed the series to a hasty conclusion with predictably disastrous results...
I still kind of disagree on that, even though I agree that War of the Damned is rushed and could still use a few episodes I think they made the right decisions on choosing only to have a third season. I still can't imagine them talking about small stuff like liberating the mines of Lucania and building an army. It would simply be best to talk about the stuff that matter like they did in the War of the Damned.
because if crixus hadnt gone they would have made it that far because episode 8 you can see the map and how far crixus made it if they all went that way they would have to fight all them together allowing crassus to catch up quciker
what do you mean by that? What else can they really talk about? It would simply be Spartacus fighting against Roman generals against roman generals, plus the war itself only lasted two years. I agree that they are wrapping up this season too quickly, but I think it would be for the best to keep it nice and short than try to drag it out for two more seasons.
please let gannicus live he is my fav crixus was my 2nd fav and he died :( ino he had to but let gannius live and have a spin off show where he is hot and gannicus! please
both of you make good points.. but johnbr59 is correct in that why rush the season and give disastrous results..it does not make sense- two more epsiodes would have help develop the plots- I feel sick talking about it....thanks for both opinion though.
I thought that the series ended good. I would of liked Gannicus to of lived but I still liked the last episode. I know I'm a dork but I would of loved it if they'd of shown everybody that got away a year later and of shown Sibyl with a little baby Gannicus. Wishful thinking. Lol!!
i wish there were more episodes. did they just choose to make only 10 episodes or was the budget not big enough. they could have at least made the last episode 2 hours.
you said that its liams fault for not giving any other characters time to shine, its not exactly his thought he didnt write the script and the show is called "Spartacus". Not Nasir or more sex scenes, hes obviously going to be the main character most of the time, and i was just saying it would be nicer for you to post your opinion on a forum where they are accepted rather than a channel where loyal fans come to discuss the previous episodes they could get upset.
It was episode 8 that i finally realised that this season simply jammed cock in ass... a real disaster, and a real letdown as far as the legacy of Blood & Sand is concerned. I read online that Steven Deknight stated in an interview that the original plan for Spartacus was something like 5 seasons or even more, though obviously tragedy struck and Andy Whitfield passed away. 5 seasons of Andy would have been unimaginably good. But the idea that you could wrap up the story in 3 seasons ...
Yeah I imagine a lot of people will be feeling/thinking the same as me, War of the Damned kinda ruined the Spartacus series, in retrospect I'd feel better off having not seen it. It's difficult to describe exactly what was wrong with it but the most obvious thing is that it rushed things and most of the key events were just silly and predictable, and so the whole thing just felt like a formality to create a 'conclusion' rather than episodes constructed to actually please the audience.
I'm not a hater, just a realist. I'm not saying Liam is bad - I thought he was pretty good in Vengeance but War of the Damned didn't give any of the main characters a chance to shine - only the Romans! Most of Spartacus's parts were just plot advancement, not enough time to create that relationship with Laeta which was actually quite promising. Agron pretty much became Spartacus's lapdog, and they overdid the silly Castus/Nasir jealousy dynamic. They milked Gannicus as a gimmick. As for Crixus,
CONTINUED there were no real memorable moments, no further characterisation to the characters we already knew (too much focus on the Romans), Crixus's death was portrayed horribly, that crucifixion scene was laughable at best, and the season is basically over within a heartbeat, wihout the audience really FEELING the legend of Spartacus as a general. We never actually got to see Rome tremble as Andy famously promised. Spartacus deserved better.
(Continued), they pretty much ruined his character, turning him and Naevia into near-antagonists for Spartacus for half the season until his predictable and rushed demise. Almost no intimate Crixus/Naevia scenes yet they gave Crassus and Kore about 3 sex scenes in consecutive episodes - it became so ridiculously repetitive to the point where, at one point, I had a deja vu and actually thought I was watching the previous episode! What the hell were they thinking? So basically, this season...
I disagree, thought the season was very good and interesting and liked to see the romans as much as the rebels. The andy liam thing, I see Andy as "The Bringer of Rain" (a gladiator) and Liam as the Rebel leader (who has to lead and make hard decisions). cant compare the two badass in there own way
The best example of this is that, at least for me, none of the War of the Damned episodes really have much replay value at all, unlike Gods of the Arena, B&S and Vengeance (which I have watched multiple times) I haven't rewatched any of War of the Damned because there is no point. Why watch it? To see a million Crassus/Kore sex scenes? To watch silly arguments between Spartacus and Crixus? To watch those dumb pirates again? To watch that shit Tiberius behead Crixus? To watch that absurd
Ye it was good that they ended it. If Spartacus&Gannicus would make it trough. They would just milk out a new season like all other shows. Good that 1Gladiator made it trough.
So gannicus got nailed to the cross, so what? Is it so unbearable for you that a character dies? I think they gave gannicus' a honorable death with the arena shouting etc. I'm quite critical of many spartacus episodes and things that were done poorly, however the last 2 episodes have been pretty much perfect to me.
My guess how its going to end: Of course romans will win the war, but spartacus (and hopefully gannicus) will live. Many years later when Caesar has been the emperor, spartacus/gannicus will assassinate Caesar. That is how it should end in my opinion :)...
(continued) absurd crucifixion scene of Agron? To watch Liam McIntyre's Spartacus prance about aimlessly issuing stupid commands and making dumb speeches? Or maybe to watch that absolutely ludicrous Caesar butt rape scene in episode 8? No, WotD is a cock in ass season (literally). Previous seasons contained awesome high moments, bittersweet moments, and tons of OMFG unexpected moments. WotD has almost none of that - a truly pointless, forgettable season.
most of those crappy tv shows stays on 10 + yrs, but spartacus that demonstrate substance and education- is disregarded and played with like it did not happen- and the ending will probably make him and gannicus look stupid. Unforgivable
(continued) didn't really advance the main characters much at all and most of their relationship dynamics were either poorly explained, unconvincing or outright out of character. Too much focus on the Romans, in particular that shit Tiberius. And one last thing: you have to be kidding me that Liam is better than Andy! Not disrespect to Liam, but Andy was a God among men. That man was born to play Spartacus, period.
we got ourself a hater boys, please leave this channel, never come back, no one agrees with your views on this channel, I personally think Liam is great, i never imagine Andy being able to do all these strong speeches, Liams voice is much more powerful. But dont hate on the channel and not expect criticism.
Wow you are really reacting alot on this video. If you don't like this season fine, but don't act like your opinion is the only one that counts and is the truth, cause it's not. You can cry and spout your hatred for this season all you want but they won't change a damn thing.
Come on u barely talked bout anything, its be intereting to know why DeKnight decided to kill Tiberius off even tho in reality Crassus older son lived much longer, its obvious cuz Tiberius is an asshole but still its be nice if these vids were more then a few minutes long, half of the vids show clips of the episode which most of us already saw and kill more time that can be used to dig into DeKnights mind about this show, lol come on Starz
Best show ever... I will miss u so much:((
I'd love to see Steven get the team back together and do another series for Starz even if it isn't in the Spartacus universe. I'm really going to miss this style of television. Nothing else compares.

Thank You Steven !! And all the actors , for a great show!! All of it!! '' Gratitude''!!
I use tissues for multiple reasons when watching spartacus! :D Episode 8 I used them for tears :( R.I.P Crixus
Another Season Please. We need more!!

i think about spartacus when i am not watching the show...it has effected me profoundly to the point and i have no one in my personal circle to tell or give me feedback...most of the conversations in spartcus is applicable to real life
do i relate to what you just wrote! it would be very difficult to watch- but it would be forever be in my mind anyways
Best moment of the episode was lugo hitting the roman in the fave with the hammer
best moments in spartacus series for me
1. spartacus vs thracians
2. spartaucs vs glabers men in the pool
3. spartacus yelling at duro after varros death
4. spartacus speech after arelia's death
5. spartacus speech after slaps agron for lying about naveia
6. spartacus vs glabers men after rescuing naveia
7. spartacus pwns sedulus
8. spartacus and crixus clash swords after slaughter
9. spartacus and crixus conversation before crixus death
10. speech at end of ep 9 war of the damned
i too would have loved to see it
Very good movie

At the same time, the older son of Crassus was named Marcus Licinius Crassus as well. So there was plenty of room to kill him off.

Guys why don't we just try to enjoy the last episode on Friday instead of arguing about this.
no we were not expecting an happy ending, but SDK said that he would leave us with something and that no one would be nailed to the cross like in the spartacus movies with kirk douglas--he left us with nothing

Although episode 9 was fantastic, the Tiberius vs. Caesar fight would of been something to see.
i feel the same way i dont want him to die
i like what you wrote...but remember the war of spartacus only lasted two yrs in real life. but you are so correct in that SDK &co. could have added two or three more epsiodes..unbelievable..i google starz cancelled spartacus and read what was written...others say starz did not cancelled..just mess up like you said

Inspiration behind Episode 10 of Spartacus: War of the Damned!!!
Kristin Adams, it says so in the video.

It seems you do give a damn seeing your reaction.
I would of liked to see it for the simple fact that I would love to see Caesar kick Tiberius' ass. Payback.

What´s real name of spartacus?? somebody knows.......
most of those crappy tv shows stays on 10 + yrs, but spartacus that demonstrate substance and education- is disregarded and played with like it did not happen- and the ending will probably make him and gannicus look stupid. Unforgivable
he look like caesar ahaha
I love the new Spartacus but Andy whitfield was the best. RIP. u will b missed

I WILL NEVER WATCH SDK MOVIES AGAIN...I PROMISE!
why cant you watch the Davincies Demons in Europe?
we got ourself a hater boys, please leave this channel, never come back, no one agrees with your views on this channel, I personally think Liam is great, i never imagine Andy being able to do all these strong speeches, Liams voice is much more powerful.
