I recently wrote to the address they give at the end of the video - I actually got a reply so I thought I would share: 3/13/12 Dear _________, We unfortunately are not "Video Power"; however we wish you the best of luck in finding who you are looking for. Best Wishes, Jason Osweg Ameritech Inc.
He was not screwed--the host was an idiot. The game the kid picked was Ultima: Exodus.. plus, I imagine the parents would have been angry if he had won the Neo-Geo, as games on that system cost upwards of $300!
@@digiblader1 I was Michael one of the contestants on this episode. Right after they finished filming it, they producer came up and said to Terry that "You messed up, you said he won the Neo Geo, but that's the wrong game." Because they filmed it that he won it, he had to receive it, otherwise there could be legal issues or something.
8:19 Dude was rocking a big fat goose egg but he knew he had just enough time to book it to that hidden treasure that made him the winner, he knew he just needed to get that one thing and the other guy wouldn't be able to beat his score.
And many of the prizes won on this show were likely sold off by the parents to pay taxes on the winnings--as any prizes are considered income and are subject to taxes, just like on normal game shows. And no way the parents would've let that kid win the Neo-Geo--the games on that system cost an arm and a leg!
2:38 Why did the scene cut right there? Did they cut to scold Johnny for making fun of the contestants? It's all in lighthearted fun so hopefully that wasn't the case.
One of these episodes has a kid answer a question correctly, but they count it wrong. I need to find it. It bothered me so much when I was a little kid.

You rule LOL
This show is still the bomb.
Can you imagine winning a Neo Geo back then? Those games practically cost the price of a system.
Not to mention the parents have to pay taxes on the kid's winnings...
Wow, a TMNT II commercial! That VHS $22.95. Man, that was pricey as hell back then for a tape 😂
the weirdest thing is that it's the same price today for the same movie in blu ray lol
