Great video as usual. Yo ae very brave and relentless in your goal of growing quality plants while still grieving. I only know green side up through his videos but it is clear to me that you are a chip of the old block. Thank you.
I watch a guy called Maritime Gardener and when he plants his carrots he puts strips of heavy paper or cardboard between the rows and weighs it down with rocks and mulch. That keeps the weeds down and it is easy to tell where the carrots are coming up. I have used this method and it works well.
We had 80’s/60’s which is perfect for tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers and after they were in the ground temps plummeted to 60’s/40’s so not turning back I hope for the best. Wishing you the best on your tomatoes with this crazy weather all of us are going through.
I planted parsnips end of May last year. Gladiator. They were truly monsters. We did have a major heatwave 🤩 this year I’ve tried twice now to sow them. Rubbish. Got a few left to sow end of May. Hopefully they will produce🫣
I'm in shock as to how large and healthy all of your plants are (most notably the peppers, Aubergines and Tomatoes), they are outstanding. I thought I was on a roll with all of my much smaller plants that are on the go, granted I am in my first 6 months of having a plot so most of my plants have been in what i've got for the moment which is the shed window and brought outside regularly vs your greenhouse and polytunnel setup. Really really inspirational work and a bank of no nonsense, give it a go knowledge. Thank you!
Sowed parsnips for the first time ever this year, also Gladiator F1, three staggered sowings with the last on 9th May. I'll be interested to see how yours turn out in relation to mine, me being a rookie veg gardener still, first sowing is coming up nicely now (17th May). According to other resources first week of May is the ideal time to sow parsnips in the Ashington area which I'm guessing you're not a million miles away from.
I’m trying Outdoor Girl. They reckon they grow outdoors. 1st time. Marmande and sun gold and Gardner’s delight do very well outside east Northumberland.
i just bought 3 sets of 4 pieces of those green rods at Aldi, not sure if they have the same offers everywhere at the same time, but have a look at your paper they were only 4.99 euro for the 4set and 150cm and 180cm in the set
That allotment you walk through , have you not thought about mowing or strimming it , then putting it on your compost, just until someone takes it over
You know when you watch TH-cam when having your lunch at work and get distracted and look back at the video and think you just heard Tony talking about using a flame thrower on the pigeons ...well that 🤣🤣🤣
Hiya Tony 👋 your japanese onions look great 👌 I have these on the list for over wintering this year. Did you sow them from seed? If so when did you start them off? Laura 🌱 🙃
I've had my tomatoes out for the past few days. I avoided the night where it dipped to 2C but they did fine last night so I'm going to pop them out now. They're growing too big for the house.
Definitely not. We were late last year and we got all solute monsters. We planted them after every other crop tbh Trying to plant early this year and it’s rubbish. Plant late is the message
Mr. Tony,??? flamethrowers are for firebugs ( English translation firebug is someone fascinated by starting and watching fires ) another translation is arsonist. I think with the past couple videos I am rather concerned about you! Have you ever been diagnosed as a firebug or gone to any group therapy? If you fell like you need help I am sure there is a hotline to call. Concerned

Beautiful garden ❤. Thumbs up for gardening 👍

My parsnips went in yesterday (the 4th ) too, and according to my Charles Dowding seed sowing calendar, it's not too late!
If you use the flame thrower on the potato bed will you get roast potatoes

I hope its not too late to plant parsnips because mine are still in the packet 😂
I've just planted my seeds today so hey ho lol

Yeah, my chillies are just 4 inches tall and bell peppers just around 3, Tony's are massive compared to mine though my tomatoes are comparable.

I’ve got some parsnips in but still plan to plant more. Pre-chitting mine.
I’ve grown outside in scaffold cage for years am in south east Northumberland. Works great I get more than I thought tbh
Hello! I’m wondering why you aren’t growing in your polytunnel beds?
Oh you talked about much more than tomatoes here, I'm not complaining though! Thanks for all the info. Much love from Yorkshire 😊
Ive planted five roma out today. Ive loads more if they dont make it though.

What's 'calmag' that you said you are feeding your time with please?

All my tomatoes will take up residence outside. 🤞🤞🇨🇦👩🌾
Now should be perfect for sewing your parsnips. They prefer it a bit warmer to germinate.
Im always struggling to find a decent pen for plant labels. No not to late for parsnips

Bloody birds were having a romantic dinner for two there!
ever done any Brads Atomic Grape tomatoes?
Can't you eat the leaves from your broccoli
I got Roma seed from italy (given) they just grew great. Subsequently I’ve bought Roma and they’re not very good

You need to set some kind of station up to collect that seagull crap. Seabird guano is a great fertilizer for crops! 😂
I would stake those tomatos
Tony, why on earth seagulls are a protected species is beyond me!!😆
i put most of my toms outside
Marmande
