I listen to BTS every single day thru Spotify because I love them and their music actually speaks to me. Does that mean I'm a bot? The US music industry expect non-English speaking countries listen to their music. But they can't accept the fact that a non-English speaking artists are becoming popular in their market. Even more, without the US labels help. It's about time the music industry realize the WHY factor of BTS's sucess. It's not about looking cool nor about singling well. It's all about whether their music, lyrics, MVs and their personalities resonate with us ARMYs. BTS became a game changer and I hope they continue to do so.

You wondered about BTS global support. I live in a small city in Jordan🇯🇴 where I meet ARMYs in random places all the time! I met one on a bus bc she was streaming on YT. I met several in my class when I introduced myself as an ARMY. Another at a training I was leading. Another accidentally kicked her soccer ball into my yard. And alongside graffiti for “Messi” and “S❤M,” I see “BTS” spray painted in random places. I know ARMYs say “ARMYs are everywhere” but I’m here to bear witness, ARMYs are *literally* everywhere!

Since this video came out, it's been shown that Jimin's album sales weren't tracked through IP addresses, which might be illegal, but via email address. Billboard only allowed one album per email address to count, even if that one email was used to purchase 30 albums. That's a very stupid way of tracking things, because you aren't tracking how many albums were purchased, but how many email addresses were used to purchase albums. ARMY is very aware of how to get around all of the rules put in place to prevent BTS and their members from charting. You asked how long a song h as to play for it to be considered a "view". It's 30 seconds. That's also why the companies keep changing their rules. They make a new rule and ARMY takes steps to void out that rule. I guarantee you, if ARMY had known that the email addresses would be counted, rather than actual purchases, then ARMY would have created a new email address for every purchase. This is one of the main reasons why BTS loves ARMY so much. ARMY will literally do whatever we need to in order to combat this unfair tactics against BTS, so that BTS is successful in spite of the sabotage. Also, they industry is getting stupid. ARMY has gotten so good at getting around the industry's tactics that the industry is no longer able to conceal what they're doing. Like the Grammys saying that BTS will be on "next" for over 2 hours, to keep people watching, or industry people commenting that Jimin might have debuted at number 1 on BB, but wait until the 2nd week, proving that they knew that a rule change was coming specifically to remove Jimin from the charts. And even with literally 90% of his sales removed, he was still on the charts the 2nd week, at # 45.

Since everyone in the music industry is so corrupt and unfair, it is very difficult for the general public to know that BTS are entirely different from them. Every new one is constantly telling me that BTS fans stream the video without wanting to actually see it but just to manipulate the numbers. Like they just don't understand how corrupt everything else is, how manipulative everything else is that streaming their music is our last resort.
Making people understand is difficult, because not many people are like BTS. And understanding such a pure & rare energy is obviously not everyone's cup of tea!

As a Canadian I've heard Butter, PTD, Dynamite, Life Goes On, For Youth and Yet To Come (yes all of these songs) play at the mall, the drug stores, retail stores, restaurants and so many more places. I was literally in an underground mall/walkway just yesterday where they were playing Yet To Come. The funniest one to me was one morning after a night shift I went to the drug store to get something where Butter was playing and then went to the A&W and PTD was playing. I live in the UK and we don't have music playing in shops or shopping centre's simply because we have laws that are used to protect artists eg if their songs are played on radio or in public place's eg places of business the artist has to be paid. The only way to do that is for business centre's to pay for licences so from those licences the artist will get paid. Our buisness won't do that as it's expensive. Only Radio stations pay otherwise they can't air music as the artists have to be paid.

All those bots allegation are preposterous. I'm an ARMY in SEA country, and not a month ago a cashier in a minimarket asked me if I like the color purple (I was wearing purple shirt and sheer purple eyeshadow). I said "yeah I do", and at first I thought it was just a nice interaction, but then I look into her eyes, she looked excited but bashful like she's not sure of something. and I just knew. But I'm not sure too, so I asked tentatively asked if she's an ARMY and she said yes! We're giggled together, said our hellos and goodbyes and I left.
We're everywhere, and we're loyal. Most of us might not be able to buy albums and concert tickets, but we'll sure support BTS in any small ways we can. Streaming their songs that we really DO like is no sweat. And if that is not organic (whatever music industry thought otherwise), then I don't know what that is.

We did it before streaming strange how that habit hasn't changed in fact it's even easier now that there is streaming available people can and do so on their mobile phones with it stuck in their ear as they walking to and from work, on public transport, in their cars, while even working away at their job, siting eating lunch etc etc etc. It's just normal behaviour but somehow it's considered 'Bot' behaviour. 28:20 The difference is you get what you pay for with BTS’s albums. Billboard finally changed the rules at that time where if you’re going to bundle, it has to cost extra to count as a real album sale. I remember hearing about the rule, but they didn’t apply the rule until maybe almost a year later. This rule did not affect BTS album sales, because they never bundled, and the cost of their albums are already higher, usually around $20-ish. Where buying a t-shirt or concert ticket from a US artist would come with an album. I know this from experience, I thought it was tempting decided that I don’t really want the t-shirt. Another example, I paid for a concert ticket because I wanted to see the opening act play, but I recieved a t-shirt and an album in the mail that I didn’t need/want because I didn’t go to the concert for the headliner lol. Anyway, it appears that just recently announced that Billboard is allowing bundles again. Why? Maybe because they must want the US artists to do well on the charts to compete with BTS most likely. BTS does not lose sales with that rule, only artists from major American labels do.

The industry’s reasoning is off are artists supposed to have fans? If there were no fans they wouldn’t have careers. How are fans not general public? Duh 🙄. Dirty business. As an artist I couldn’t except the accolades knowing the stats were skewered in my favor not because of my talent but because of dirty tactics. I think BB is still smarting because Butter outdid their pick in every way possible and yet that child took home 3 Grammys that year. It’s all fixed. If you don’t play their game you get penalized. Tacky. Nice reaction.

also dynamite, butter, left and right, plays on the radio i still here those three from time to time. but you see those three songs have english lyrics. sometimes savage love remix with bts is played. i have heard savage love remix twice in the last two months. but again that is an english korean song. if you request my universe on alternative radio some djs will play it. but that is a collab with a western band. all other bts amazing songs are hard to play. i will say i have heard boy with love when it first debuted a korean song but all radio stations only played it at night and dawn morning hours. fake love when it debuted played on radio but we had to fight for that and only certain hours would they play it. so American radio is not kind to bts

They don't pay them to have their singles on playlists, or youtube shorts, or tiktok sounds, insta reels etc. Wtv the promo that they have is either by RM and or general public. With maybe only 1 exception though til this day this is debated in the fandom, pure speculation: Dynamite. It had radioplay and Columbia Rcrds even shared with us their bus going from radio station to radio station to play the song to every radio radio programmer. Niki Minaj already said that if radios only wanted money she'd pay, BUT radios also wanna be 'courted', like they have have a friendly relationship with the artist so in case they need one, they can call em up and ask for favor/promo, which she's unwilling to do

The only reason us, ARMY care abt that stupid chart is cause Yoongi mentioned many years ago, his dream was to top the top 100, which they did eventually! but you know us.. we're intense so now every time they release anything (even that forgettable The planet song.. don't come @ me ARMY! I love my boys but also have preferences) we obsess with making them chart. Clearly the boys don't wanna play by corporations rules, and we gotta support even ifffff we all gt fckd over by their dirty deals. Same with Grammy.. Yoongi mentioned he wanted 1 so you'll find tons of ARMYs angry af when they get snubbed. I daydream of the day the boys go punk rock and say fck it all, ARMY chill we don't give a fck abt any of this BS, just enjoy the music. The end goal is control of the market.
It’s not artists making these choices. It’s their labels. Labels are corporations. Corporations don’t care about you. They don’t care about human life, or any life on earth, or what you want - except in so far as it can be used by them to generate sales. Corporations are not people. They don’t have human feelings. The people running them cannot make decisions from humanistic value judgements.
Money is their only concern. It has to be, because of how corporations are structured. The board and investors only care about quarterly profits. If those fall, shares may fall, CEOs and industry big wigs may lose their positions as boards vote them out in search of someone with more profitable tactics.
The only exceptions are when a corp. has a controlling interest visionary leader who guides decisions without threat of being ousted. Ex: Bang PD, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Walt Disney, Paul Newman, Mark Zuckerberg, etc. In such cases, the leader can choose to invest in a course of action which might cause quarterly losses in a gamble for a further vision (of greater long term profit, visionary development of new tech or products, environmental protection, fostering talented artists or other goals.)
The global music industry is very big business and controlled by large corporations. Bang PD and BTS are staging an ongoing populist coup to their power structure. They are an existential threat to how the music industry works. So they are, and will continue to be, mortal enemies. On this battlefield, ARMY is well named, and BTS will continue to need their troops at their back.

    Hello Brian, how are you....???
More than enjoying the video, it is clearer to me, and I feel much more informed about it, despite the fact that Army has known for a long time how disgusting Billboard and Grammys are, and that they have played with the illusion of the boys, and they have used for its rating, since each nomination, there we are glued to the screen watching the transmission at any time...
But we all know how winners the boys are, with or without the physical prize, and that BTS by itself is much bigger than all that musical mafia.
Also, if they are sabotaged in their own country, what can be expected from the rest????
For this reason we should not leave them alone, and continue supporting them, so that since they do not stop working to release one song or another, release at least one album a year, we must be there, and support in the thousand and one ways that we can, and as they themselves have said, if you don't have money to buy an album, don't worry, just watching the videos is enough, but we can all help in one way or another.
Sorry, I think I'm still a little upset with the information in this video.
    Greetings.

So not they only get paid to add those songs to their programming (taking from the musician's pocket) but also doesn't pay them a cent for each time it's played, no royalties. What does this mean? since US radio doesn't pay anyone, no one in the world pays US artists a cent either to play their music. They get royally fckd over by radio.. These fake view give the companies pay for give their artist push up the billboard so they get those number 1's and top 10 hits this make's it look like the artist or group is popular so they then the artist can get endorsements, brands to be ambassodors for, appear in TV adverts, get invited to a spot at at music festival. It's about getting the artist face and name known so they can earn money to do the process all over again. As they don't have big fan bases to buy concert tickets and merchandise and buy Physical albums. They'll even sell albums for a couple of US dollars but that doesn't bring in the money. That is way BTS does so well they have a massive fan base that can and do buy buy buy. They don't need to pretend and hope to get endorsements and slots in music festivals and advertise brands. BTS are brand ambassordors but that's their secondary income they get their main eg first income from album sales, ticket sales and merchandise.

Too bad this came out before the Q1 stockholder report. Hybe showed us they are just as greedy and capitalist as the American music industry. She does bring up a good point in that the money they make goes into the SK government economy, not America. I have seen many of the things many labels in Kpop do, and I think it is obvious they would be willing to join in payola. I realize they can't join in the system because the western music industry doesn't want them to. The money kpop makes goes to SK, not the western music industry. I wonder if that was the actual reason for BTS doing English songs. Hybe was trying to get their foot in the door so Hybe could join in these things like payola and advance kpop Hybe proved to us they don't have the morals or ethics they claim they do with their choice to opt in to dynamic pricing. And many kpop artists are okay with this as individuals have come forward admitting that the artists do have say as to if they are opted in. I think the kpop industry has been doing everything they can to be part of the western music industry, the west is clearly doing what they can to keep them out and yes, it is greed. The US is just not making enough money off of them. And that is how our world works now...

Well, the reason why it's mainly BTS who is being sabotaged is because they are at the top and MAKING A DIFFERENCE while the industry doesn't gain anything.
    PSY was not sabotaged.
BTS was successful again and again that's why they are.
If Psy was sabotaged BTS would never have succeeded because this sabotaging would have already in place.

  • @r.maciel2544
    @r.maciel2544 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    1. Most of this proof wouldn’t standup to scrutiny. Doesn’t mean that the sentiment isn’t true, but this video doesn’t prove much, allegedly or not.
    2. Showing videos/clips/names of artists while you discuss how certain artists don’t earn what they receive is just gross, especially since, as stated earlier, this video offers nothing by way of actual proof. I’m sure all of these artists work hard for what they get, and to infer that they don’t deserve it makes the director seem like a bitter fan with a grudge, and it only detracts from the argument.
    3. Fans should start buying music. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ What a concept. That’s how us olds used to do it. And, so what if an album has 5 different versions? No one has to buy them. If the same person buys three copies of the same album for whatever reason those albums were still purchased. I’m not sure why that’s hard to understand.
    4. Grammy has always invited the big names wether they win or not. You get to learn these things when you’ve been alive more than 25 years.
    5. Billboard has always been about music sales, since the very beginning. When did people start thinking it was anything else?
    6. And assuming all of this is true, so what? Do you want recognition from a corrupt industry, awards that can be bought? BTS doesn’t seem to have problems with money or popularity, and they don’t seem to care about recognition. The industry isn’t going to change. I don’t see the need or desire to even care about any of this nonsense. ✌🏼
And most importantly, stop caring about shit that doesn’t matter. At some point in time music fans became overly invested in numbers and awards, and inorganic recognition. Why put so much energy into insisting that BTS deserves more when that “more” ultimately means nothing.
Listen to what you love, purchase all of the music and merch you want to, or none of it. Go to all of the shows, or none of them. I guarantee you, most recording artists are happy if you just like their music and listen to it. The rest of the circus that goes along with the music means nothing. Engaging with the industry side of music in any way, even as a critique, is putting too much importance into it.
