This was a parody of a famous British cop show called The Bill, including the theme song and the feet walking across the cobblestones at the start, would make more sense with that context
The intro with the footsteps (and the litter dropping) is a parody of the closing credits of 'The Bill', one of the longest running UK crime dramas.
Crime drama is one hang way to describe the bill.
Longest running pile of shite is another
@@davidhartley2926 I'm recently watching it from the beginning - it's now actually a fascinating bit of social history......things have changed so much since the mid 80's (thankfully). The scripts were pretty dodgy though, and the standard of acting often........variable (not helped by the scripts). The first couple of series it didn't seem to have occurred to them to cast actors with genuine working class London accents - they all sound like Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins! I'm on to series 4 now, and this at least seems to have been resolved.
Everything from the fast show was genius.
I loved this sketch parodying The Bill, shame they dropped it later. My favourite gag was him slapping his ID on the window of a vehicle during a chase to commandeer it, only it was a chocolate bar!
It wasn't just the Bill. There were at least half a dozen cop shows at the time based round a fat sweaty protagonist.
Britain has adopted Indian food as its own. British-Indian cuisine (different from what you actually get in India) is as British as fish and chips (and probably eaten more often).
Indian food in Britain is to what Mexican dishes is to the States. Not much Mexican in the UK and not much Indian in America is they way it goes.
thats right, mexican is the one thing we dont have in uk, and indian is the one thing they dont have over there lol
The majority of Indian restaurants in Britain are known as British Indian Restaurants, the menu doesn't bear much resemblance to food actually sold in India, but tailored more towards the British palate. Another fact about Indian restaurants/takeaways in Britain, is that more than 90% of them are actually run by Bangladeshis.
No "Indian" restaurant in UK is known as a "British Indian" . Not one. Although most of them are indeed not run by Indians.
@@bobburroughs6241A lot of Indian restaurants in the UK are indeed run by Bangladeshis, especially Bangladeshis from a region of Bangladesh called Sylet. The chaps there are known to be good cooks.
The majority are ran by Pakistanis. Especially take aways. They aren't known as British Indian either. Mainly because they aren't Indian. There is an easy way to find a true Indian restaurant. Just look for Hindi gods. You'll get proper Indian food there too. They aren't tailored for the British palate they are simplified to maximise profits.
Have you ever been to Britain?
@@bobburroughs6241 I think it's a typical yank thinking he knows everything.
Nope, never heard the term 'British Indian'. My brother lives in the US and the thing he misses the most is Indian food.
Indian food will blow your mind. I'm really surprised it hasn't taken off in the States
Too busy messing around putting steak filled with bacon and cheese and maple syrup wrapped in bacon in deep fat fryers.
That is an accurate take on British police today with a crime clear up rate of about zero percent
And the BMI of the average copper is higher than ever
as much as that ?
I'd go as far to say that the police actually encourage crime. Because reported crimes are looked at solely based on their statistical likelihood of prosecution, crimes like burglary aren't looked into and conviction rates for burglary are 4%. Many criminals thus now realise that crime is actually a very lucrative career path with little risk.
A bit more irony is that the white police car with the orange stripe was known as a 'jam butty'.
Agreed - it was "Mexican Cantina Day" at our NHS hospital.... and it sucked. Completely clueless and SO expensive.
Queen Victoria had an Indian cook on her staff so she could get a proper curry. Curry is an English word probably derived from 'karhai', a cooking vessel similar to a wok. Today in India the English word 'gravy' is used to describe such sauces.
An American watching the fast show... Comedy is truly universal, he made me laugh 😂
the fast show was great, they all were
Hoorah for the British Empire - invading countries back in the day - bringing back new things to try.
Tea especially from China. Brilliant - we had 2 wars with the Chinese as they didn't like the idea of Supplying the Chinese peasants with Opium in exchange for tea
we invaded India and decided we did like spicy food rather than fish and chips, sausage and mash jellied eels - they are awesome obviously
Us Brits invented Chicken Tikka Massala - one of the most popular dishes in UK
I had my first taste of so called Indian cuisine when I was 5 in the 70's Muliulligatawney soup - my grandad was merchant navy and loved it.
I make my own now
Tikka Massala Not even heard of in Indian culinary circles until a decade ago
Because India was a part of the British Empire for 100 years Indian food is everywhere and really good. Infact, Chicken tikka masala is actually a British meal and isn't found in India at all. Not with the same sauce, it was added to satisfy British appetite for serving soldiers while overseas (not just in India). It was then bought to the UK as it was such a tasty meal.
India was ruled by Britain for 200 years. Get it right.
Indeed. I believe both Birmingham and Glasgow claim the invention we came to know and love. Similar ingredients used, but it was thought British people would expect the food to be in a creamy sauce/gravy.
After I first went to an Indian restaurant as a kid in the 80's, I noticed my Mum had an Indian cookery book at home. No sign of tikka or balti recipes to my initial surprise!
It's great even though not technically authentic. Then again, as it's all very regional as is all Asian food and probably most other places too. I wouldn't want to say what would represent "genuine Indian food" as a whole anyway.
Going to have to make a garlicy Dal for tea now you've got me thinking of it all.
Good facts for Americans

Another british invention which india sold back to us: Yoga.
It was a fashion in low-impact gymnastics, then some fake gurus pretended to have discovered it in mysterious ancient hindu texts - which they've never been able to produce.
Take a western exercise system, slap on some eastern-sounding mysticism, and con the british. Classic.
My sister lives in America, she told me that if you order indian food there its not very good.
I live in a normal south London neighbourhood and within 10 min walk from the house we have Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Chinese, Caribbean, Portuguese, Somalian, Brazilian, Italian, Spanish and Korean eatery.
Lambeth?
The "Indian" food in the uk actually derives from immigrants from Bangladesh. Setting up unique style foods that were Indian influenced. You will not find a UK indian food outside of the UK unless it was set up so.
Indian food in southern states would be an "immigrant takeaway" for sure trump would say "they are trying to poison us"
Chinese restaurants came way before Indian/ Bangladeshi/ Pakistani restaurants.
We call them " Indian " but they could be from anywhere in the Indian sub - continent.
Its some kind of curry with rice, poppadoms, Naan bread , or chapattis.
We have sold our British Indian style back to India.
I think probably Indian food is to us what Mexican food us to you guys
My favourite part was when they broke down a wall and went through the floor.
You can't beat a ruby afer a session.

Finally. One of my favourite comedy sketches!😂❤
Can’t believe you haven’t tried Indian food. It’s the best!!
A friend of mine who moved from the UK to Texas a few years ago, every time he comes back to the UK he has to an Indian restaurant as he says you can’t get a decent curry for love or money in the states
Indian and Chinese restaurants are in every town and city in the UK
In my home town there is about 8 Chinese and about 9 Indian restaurants lol
Because you can't make decent food yourselves
An old friend opened a curry house in the US a few years ago and I heard it was very good. Called Tipoo’s Tiger, in Missoula, Montana. That’s only about a thousand miles from you, isn’t it?
I'm a rare Brit, I've never been to an Indian restaurant
If there are no Indian restaurants in the USA that would be a deal breaker for me - i don't think i could cope! I have a curry of some kind most weeks, it would be like finding out baked beans are no longer available, or tea - disaster !!
I don't think your Indian food will be the same as ours lol.
It's terrible in Florida, as is the Chinese.
You're not missing out on much regarding not experiencing Indian cuisine. Except perhaps regular bouts of food poisoning and diarrhoea.
I'm in So. California...three Indian Restaurants in Long Beach, where I live. Great food, just ask what's in it. Can be too spicy.
Indian food is terrific and has tons of variety from the various regions of India. Yum. Doesn’t have to be spicy/hot. They will cook to your specifications
If you ever come to London, King Boomer, you have to visit Brick Lane in Whitechapel, East London (home of Jack the Ripper). You'll find some of the best Curry houses there. You need to experience Indian food before you leave , if you've never had it before.
No shortage of Indian restaurants around Orlando. Couldn't tell you if they're any good, haven't been there.
Keep an eye out for Sri Lankan cuisine as well. That is beautiful, but will *surprise* your palate. 🙂
I just did a search for Indian restaurants in Florida and there seems to be a lot of them.
Hi King Boomer. If you find a curry house you might want to start with a chicken korma or a chicken tikka massala. Both are mild but have plenty of flavour. As for weight loss I have lost 3.7 stone in 15 months through walking and gentle jogging, it works. I am now 13 stone , I was 16.7 , not bad eh ? Cut down on your intake too. I am also 59. So it can be done. You don,t want to end up like those cops right ? Cheers bud.
Re. the Indian Food thing. It's simple - America hasn't been around long enough and invaded/conquered/taken control of then eventually freed enough foreign soil to have hordes of immigrants in such numbers that you eventually culturally appropriate their food.
I mean, you have a load of immigrants enough that Italian, German, Polish, the Carribean etc. have decently strong food influences on you - and you've done a 'good job' with your southern neighbour there too; it doesn't quite sit right though, unless you took 'em over and then brought all the stuff back with you! Just give it another couple of hundred years.
There's at least 20 Indian/Curry joints in Tampa, another 20 or so in St Pete's, over 60 in the Miami/Ft Lauderdale/WPB area.
They're not rare in Florida Boomer.
King, you are totally missing out on fantastic food.Come to the UK man, get the vibe on what makes UK comedy so funny. Do a Harry Enfield American Tourist for real. But don't call anyone a muppet.
I’ve had a curry in Monterey and Bakersfield when travelling in the States, but not a patch on those in England😊, and they were Indian restaurants.
This is a hilarious throwback. It's inspired by iconic UK cop shows: The Bill, The Professionals, and The Sweeney. 🤣 That last one is definitely not PC. 😉
Check Rowley Birkin QC from the fast show
He might not enjoy it if he's very, very drunk.
After WW2 Britain was on it's arse and had a huge manpower shortage, so turned to it's colonies for workers, so many people from the Indian sub-continent took the opportunity for abetter life and cama to Britain and bought their food with them.
I'm sorry, but not having access to decent Indian food has to be a Humanitarian Crisis . . .
How can you live like that???
Personally, Thai cuisine is my favourite, but Indian is a close second. I find the concept of npt having a chance to try it pretty damn weird!
I miss comedy shows like that…..just taking the p out of everyday situations with no political context…..good clean comedy
Don't bother trying to get Indian food in North America, it's largely a waste of time. The quality is rubbish, and it is so toned down for the American palette it is not worth eating. Maybe try importing the genuine ingredients and cooking your own? It is like going to Taco Bell in the UK to order Mexican food. The result is an insult to Mexico. There are good Mexican restaurants in the UK, particular in the larger cities, but there are almost no decent Indian restaurants in North America.
Also from the fast show you should check out Bob Fleming country folk classics and Rowley Birkin QC
Hey boomer, if you like spice, and get chance to eat a British -Indian curry, have a chicken Phall. Mmm tasty 😋
Never had a Ruby? Blimey! I hear there's at least one curry house in New York. Whether it's any good I don't know. I haven't been there.
C'mon Boom, I live in Podunk Idaho, There are 3 Indian Places in my little town of 70k .
Ive got 3 Indian and Nepalese restaurants within 100 yards of my home ❤. And no, I don't live in India. I live in Nottingham.
Indian food in the uk is made more spicy than most Indians would eat in there own country it has been refined over decades to allow your average UK drinker at closing time having had his taste buds blitzed by 10 pints of beer taste it. Having been to srilanka, I was amazed at the mildness and taste of the curry.
It must be in your area that they are not so popular. We have visited (from Canada) NY, Detroit,Washinton and Seattle and gone to some great Indian restaurants.
In London alone, there are more Indian restaurants than in Mumbai and Delhi combined. Close to 43 million portion of chicken tikka masala are served per year in restaurants across britain.
How could they leave out the phonecall with his heavy drinking worried wife?
So you don't waste your time diet to loose weight, exercise is for health and spends your energy in a good way.. Exercise has not been linked with weight loss.
Indians and Jamaicans were invited to emigrate here during the 60s/70s, that's why

Yes not Fast Show.
Just Google I guarantee there's one near you.I had no problem in Mobile Alabama.
There are some Indian restaurants here in Japan too but, you need to look hard sometimes to find them...but they're here.
If you haven't seen it you should try The Fast Show 'Monkfish' compilation PLu_1AWOleoaWWstu62EEnWzDGhOwo1GtD
It doesn't have to be spicy, get a Korma or Chicken Mughali
Thats not a sub, thats a french baguette, they're always that long but you're suppose to cut a bit off
De Santis would never allow an Indian restaurant in Florida!!.... too un-American 😁
I too was expecting someone to fart in the lift/elevator. Either that or their arses would push the other people out of the back wall.
I watched this on the toilet doing a poo i laughed so much i fell off and had to wash dung off my thighs. Not my greatest moment.
I found i nugget in my sock ffs
I think all the male characters are supposed to look like the character Tosh from The Bill there is a striking resemblance.
There's recipes everywhere....I make mine....its easy and delicious
Going for a ruby murrey! It is as British as you can get.
Ruby Murray!
Seeing more Indian restaurants in the States on my visits these days. Hardly any 20 years ago.
if you want to try indian food , just knock up any meal you like and add half a pound of curry powder.
If you're going out to a good Indian as a rookie then you should take some precautions. Firstly, make sure your seated in a prime location for quick access to the toilet as a proper Indian curry will go through you like a Dodge Viper on nitro. Ensure you have a good quality ar*e cream as the inevitable ring sting will need cooling down and lastly, make sure you have a fresh toilet roll before you go in as you'll likely go through the whole roll.
Other than that, you can't beat a good Indian. It's one of the best cuisines on the planet.
its not that dangerous, you just have to know there are consequences for heat. Don't eat it day before you go on a long bus or train trip

I believe there are now more curry shops in the UK than Fish'n'Chip shops.
Could you not find yourself a native-american Restaurant😋?
Why don’t you get the ingredients and make it yourselfs you’ll enjoy it
Type 2 diabetes holds no terrors for the more fully-framed copper.
This is a piss take of The Bill which was quite a good TV series back in the day
Indian food? Another benefit of Empire! Bill
I’m so glad your watching this! 😎👌🤝
All british coppers are like this now 😂
Yeah, fat and incompetent.
It's 9am here in the UK, and all I want is a curry!
There’s a good curry house in port Charlotte
As a Brit that spent 20 years in the USA (hence the USAF uniform!) I can honestly tell you that so called Indian food in American REALLY sucks. When you and your beautiful Queen come over to the UK... be sure to tick this off your bucket list!!!
If you like spicy try a Phaal curry, that stuff can strip paint
Never mind the gym, I need a curry, stat!
You have to do Bargearse if you like this
Can't best a good chicken korma with peshwari naan bread! 😋
Ooh, a vegetable biryani and a peshwari naan, please.
Chicken curry with chips/rice, yummy.
