Our Fearless artist Denzel Curry gives us an explosive performance of “P.A.T.” from his latest album ZUU. Performed live on the custom Fearless set, “P.A.T.” is an ode to Curry’s early albums and music he made while with Raider Klan.
Over the years, Curry has continued to redefine his image and just recently released his most honest record to date.
Curry built his career and fanbase around an extreme image, challenging cultural and societal taboos with a brazen approach. But this attitude isn’t all that defines Curry as Fearless in our eyes. Rather than resting on a well-known persona, Curry has fearlessly worked to shed his skin and evolve into a more transparent artist. Just this year he released ZUU, an unusually personal album, largely devoid of the darker themes he’s become known for. Many consider it his most dynamic and best work to date. Sincerely delving into topics like his violent childhood in hometown Carol City, as well as family relationships, Curry is bravely expanding his artistic palette and effectively his fanbase as well.

Roadkill Williams I mean that’s just the surface part of the song. When he says “we carry hollow tips cuz that reflects what’s in my soul” that shows self awareness and depth of what’s going on. Much like the song “Sick and Tired” where the first verse is about robbing someone to survive and the second verse is about the person being robbed protecting himself to survive. He talks a lot about violence and it’s repercussions as well as his own place in it on occasion even if he doesn’t want that. It also has the concept of him being targeted by people in his old neighborhood because of his success. Another song of his, “Mad I Got it” has that as the main focus. You’re judging a banger he put at like the very end of an album about his old neighborhood which shows it on different perspectives and doesn’t gloss over things.
He IS a rapper. And a good one. You won’t find many critics, rappers new AND old, or industry people in general saying otherwise. Don’t get mad at me because you can’t understand one of his most straightforward songs.
