I remember this night so well, I was in awe. I played a solo as well, guess mine wasn't good enough to make the cut.😉 Such an unforgettable night..glad I found this. 🙆
Yo This BANANNAS........ I love it. You guys are Killin'. I'll say it, There's nothing like the chemistry among NY Bro's and a after CHUCH' JAM session! What.... Melvin, I gotta give you a shout out! I miss NY!! at least this part..
This is still one of my all time favorites of Pastor wendell Lowe in very raw showing of "off-the-cuff" inprovisation on th eHammond...still makes your head spin. Lots of color in the voicings, wow! Big admirer of the creativity. Blessings Pastor.
LOL @ musicman4ursoul......the third guy (PJ) is amazing. Notice the T-shirt of the first guy?.....jazz has had a large influence of gospel, and vica versa....it's all music, and it's all good!
muito bom, aqui no brasil estamos tocando muito esse tipo de musica, principalmente nas igrejas, é bom ter essas referencias em vedeos pra que possamos ouvir e estudar... valew... vc toca muito, gloria a Deus...
is it just me that thought the last guy brought the most feeling and soul to it even though he was the least busy...his chord nuances were just smooth and more impressive to me than the excess use of tension in the previous guys( the guy who was second to last)piece
It so funny hearing Meeks name like that. he was like pop to me. we all have different sounds. NOW the north has neo soul feel, not so much about speed but more about the sickest changes, we use to be speed demons, The south is were most of the musicans came from. Gospel and traditional souding stuff is what sets the south a part. the south has shout music. Isreal is very Universal. Were gospel musicans were not suppose to arguin about whose the best. We all know GOD is.
I see someone took it upon themself to hide the identity of that VINTAGE synth that's sitting atop of the organ..I don't recall the actual name & model of it, but I think it was made by EM-U back in late 80's/90's..
My fav part is when my man in da gray shirt is trynna pass to da next guy between 3:34 to3:45 he just murdered it b4 he passed it. and his facial expressions were classic!
Simple question to ask yourself is does it glorify God? If the musician uses gospel, jazz, classical, or any other musical genre to convey the message then that is up to them. Let's not try to be judge over this. Let God remain THE JUDGE. If he's the giver of all good and perfect gifts, which include music, no matter if you are doing secular or christian, He is still the giver of the gift. How you choose to glorify Him is up to what He's given you and how you develop your talent.
Musicman, I've been asked to delete your comments, but i'm not going to do it, because then the whole thread won't make any sense. But please quit with your ridiculous comments. I don't see any hot-tubs or bare asses in this video - only some guys making some great music. Any further comments by you will be deleted.
I don't really think the first two guys were overplaying - just a different style......i guess PJ was "shredding" somewhat, but let's forgive him for his jazz-nasty-ness!
Why does it bother you that these musician's are putting on a "simple show of educated skills"? Is it because they are gospel musicians doing this? Every video on here is not going to have the anointing. Some videos are for show, but you can't deny the fact that these musicians were given a gift by God - NO QUESTION. Your comment about referring to some of us as "you devils" - I believe THAT shows the real love of God!! And we wonder why we can't minister to non-believers.
I would beg to disagree with the comment that the world has infiltrated the church. I will say that some things that you see outside of church you can/may see in church. But let's go back to when Gospel music really started, the days of Thomas Dorsey. When he used what was considered "blues/secular" chords over a song we now consider a standard traditional hymn in "Precious Lord". There will always be the fine line of is it gospel/christian or secular.
hold on a sec musicman4ursoul. Satan wanted God's glory for himself THAT'S why he was kicked out of heaven. Lucifer became full of himself and proud. NOBODY can have God's glory. "Pride goest before a fall" and he had to go.
musicman you're absoutely killin me...you do you...and let other folks relationship with christ and their worship experience be just that something personal...and please quite pointing the finer...it ain't your job to sit around judgin people's worship

That's what you get to do in a shed, as opposed to playing accompanyment where you need to stick to the song.
