Thoughts: I've meant to do this combination on the Hiro for a long time but never came around to it due to not having the time when the switches were in my collection. Now I finally do! Overall, I really love this and feel that this is why the Inks are so popular. However, I'm still a believer in Ink Black V2s on Nylon. That would make the spacebar more modernized (clacky) and more attuned to my preference, but I'm honestly okay with this sound signature, too.
I've come to realize having a variety of sound signatures is refreshing. I typed on the Monsgeek M5 for two weeks straight (mainly for work and because it was enjoyable to hear a different tone). Then, I returned to my Hiro (MX2A Brown on Nylon) to refresh my sound palette with a bright sound. And now I'm back to a mid-tone board (Inks on POM). If you have the opportunity, don't be afraid to have different sound signatures at your disposal! It encouraged me to swap through my boards a lot more.
This is unrelated, but I might have heard some resonance in the recording? I thought I did, so I slightly untightened the screws to relieve some tension, and that fixed it.
Would I keep it in my Hiro? Yes. This is a timeless combination no matter the board (as long as it sounds good foamless).

I totally agree with having different sound signatures across diff boards. I find it's must more refreshing to switch across all my boards when I get "tired" of certain sound profiles :- )

So true! I know you thinned your collection like me, but it's still lovely to see the boards we kept have their own quirks we like about them. If the boards I had left kept sitting on their stands, they'd be on the chopping block, but not yet, thankfully. My initial purge was enough 😭

Thanks for the kind words! I'm really sorry to hear that, mate. Truthfully, this is my fourth batch of Inks, and I'm fortunate these are okay. For reference, this is a batch from Kinetic Labs, but it's always RNG with Ink V2s! :(

Look at mans making videos on switches that dropped a day ago. I'm stuck making videos on switches 3 years old 😆

so I'm just curious, you have a lot of sound tests for different configurations of the same boards like this hiro and the gok venn, do you use hotswap pcbs or do you desolder every time? if you do use hotswap, do you think there is a noticeable difference in sound compared to soldered pcbs?

Hi! I have used the same hot-swap PCB since my first sound test with the Hiro. I'm surprised it has lasted this many swaps, but I have sometimes had to use tweezers to push the inside pins tighter. Luckily, no catastrophic failures are a testament to the durability of hot-swap PCBs (when made well and treated with care).
In terms of sound, I do not notice a considerable difference personally, but you could make an argument for feeling. There is something about solder PCBs and how they have a very "solid" feeling because the switches are locked in place with the solder. Newer hot-swap sockets are much tighter, and some can work plateless because of that (emulating the solder solidity). I hope this helps!

inks would be my top 2 switch if they didn't have such a bad leaf tick issue. on one of my batches literally all of them tick

That's so true! I definitely got lucky on this batch, but it also helped that I had CKC do them and spot-check them for me. 😅

Nah, you're right. In real life, it's a quieter build, too.
