Welcome to the world of us truckers 😄. What I normally do when I encounter an oncoming car is to make sure that the smaller cars move more to the side (position yourself wider) as they are more flexible and trucks have to keep an eye on not only the length or the width, but also the height with buildings and other roadside obstacles that a motorist is not looking at. Nice driving by the way 👍
Glad to see the crash was just a clipped wing mirror, did worry when I saw the title and thumbnail lol. Sounds/looks like a great first trip and test run of Tori.
Just a quick tip for ypu guys in your little wagon... I myself have only been driving class 1s for a few months but the Road Lords Truck sat nav app on ypur phone will help plan ypur journeys as it takes your vehicle size an dimensions etc into account so when you type in ypur destination it will avoid low bridges an height and weight restrictions along the way to help you stay out of trouble an strife. Hope ypu all have safe journeys an have lots of fun along the way. P.s I would love to build a wagon like yours an take my family for the journeys of a life time like ypu guys are doing. Maximum respect. ✌️❤
Seconded. Nothing worse than having to back track 5 or 6 miles, after causing a huge backlog, because the sign for the height restriction wasn’t visible at the start of a road. It’s funny. Local residents are super vigilant about not hiding weight, or number of axle signs, but let their hedges grow wild in front of height restriction signs, so the first you know about it is when you arrive at the 2.5m bridge and there’s nowhere to turn, so you have to reverse half a mile, or more, before you can sort yourself out. First time that happens, you will need a full change of clothes, because you’ll sweat enough to look like you fell in a swimming pool. Sadly, you won’t smell of chlorine!
I have a truck sat nav, and it's fantastic. My only issue is you do occasionally come across a road or bridge where it's not listed, so I get routed down it. There is a job I go to occasionally in Long Buckby Wharf, the job is on the other side of a 12 ft something, and I'm in a 13 foot 4 inch 18 tonner. Fun times doing that the first time, I found a way in, but it's through a village with a 20 minute detour.
I recommend that you invest in a proper truck satnav. This will allow you to set the height and width and weight too and prevent you going down the wrong roads and avoid those low bridges.
@@TouringwiththekidsHi I just found your channel as we are wanting to embark full time van life , just wanted to ask how do we make a living could you kindly advise we are doing lots of research so any advice would be most valuable and welcome thankyou.
You'll learn a lot about the quality of other drivers now your in your lorry 🤣 you'll catch that mirror more often than you think to (if your in a lot of areas like that of course) mirrors guards are a great investment. There not cheap to replace and the guards really can save them. Enjoy your travels 😃

Great video guys. We have just got back from a family road trip in our little motorhome ourselves and we started watching your videos while parked up at York lorry park for the night 😃.Love the build 👍
I do not know how you stand being in the cab with that noisy kid...he would be straight out of the window!!! I was so pleased when you put some music on...
Hello and goodbye from all Lincolnshire yellowbellys. You did very well getting out of Louth with your truck, I used to hate getting my 3.5 tonne work van through there. Some of Bartons street are a bit tight aswell so well done.
Maybe advisable to invest in some metal mirror guards that take the main hit when you will inevitably clip the mirrors like you did in this video. It will save you money replacing whole mirror housings which are not cheap as they could easily smash by a hit as light as you did.
Awesome home 👍🏼 excellent driving & loving the bloopers at the end, 😂😂 absolutely classic ❤ awesome vlog guys, good luck you're on that journey now, have fun 🎉❤🌹🥂🍾
Great video, Hubbards hills is great for a walk, Louth market is not what it was a few years ago, I live in Louth and I’d love to have bumped into you.
Just a quick note about fuel and Lorries! Some people refuse to pay for diesel and steal it from Lorries over night! I would not have the tank too full at any point because of this! The anti theft mechanism that goes on the tank is pointless because thieves will just drill into it! So just be careful where you park and how much fuel is in the tank over night!
Good shout about fuel theft which is a real issue for HGVs parked up. Sound the horn and don’t get out to confront.Usually a gang in a van kitted out with all the kit to steal to order
As another driver has suggested (and I completely agree with!!😁😁) do yourself a massive favour and invest in a dedicated truck sat nav… you can then set the height, width, length and weight of your vehicle… this will help massively in planning routes suited to you, and that won’t ruin your day… loving your videos guys 🤗👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
When we were small we were not permanently singing, making distracting sounds etc. We knew when we had to be quiet, when daddy was having to concentrate., especially in thick fog .
What an excellent job you have done converting your lorry. I would get some protection for the back of your mirrors as its too easy to damage them. Your going to have some fun in that and the kids will love it. Enjoy your trips and looking forward to seeing more videos. Gaz & Ang
When you was staying in Louth. You was staying round the corner from my work. Welcome to the trucking world. The road you followed the other Stericycle HGV though is a bit of fun to go though in out trucks but it’s all part of the fun for driving. You will find a lot of people do not like HGVs. Also with the mirrors you can get some guards for them to help protect them. I have metal guards on mine and I just protects the plastic frame and mirror from getting knocked off. Nice driving though look like a natural trucker. Stay safe and enjoy your new home and new memories
Its so nice to see you on the road again. I had familie not far from York in a village called Home upon spoilding more, its between York and Hull, nice driving it must be not as easy as you make it look . Well done. Have fun in York gr. from the Neterlands
Thank you for maiden voyage in Torie. 20 mpg is great. I always said with my Holden car 27 was good. It will take a few weeks to get used to it. Then it will be 2nd nature. As the say, keep the blue side up
It’s outrageous that your flu wasn’t taken more seriously , after that man flu, you’re lucky to be alive.😂😂😂. I had it recently and it’s awful. I had similar sympathy given to me. Be strong brother, be strong
So happy to see Tori on the road. Shame about the small mishap but Rik you are in a lorry now you can push your way through and the other road users will have to wait. That so-called cafe reminded me of the cafe from Goonies. Your cold (man flu) is from you working your ass off for the last 16 weeks. But well done for pushing through cause man flu is dangerous. Your mobile phone or home whatever she said was lucky for £1.50 to get across, you saved some pennies after putting almost £180 in Tori. Nice one for testing out tight roads..I see as it is so much easier for smaller vehicles to dance round you then it is for you to Manoeuvre around the cars..The highway code does state give way to larger vehicle..when it comes to large meeting large the only time one has right of way over the other is if one is going up hill..the one going downhill should always move over or slow down when possible..(maybe not as important these days as a lot of trucks run automatic gearboxes)..Happy Trucking..🚛

Great video, I live in County Louth Ireland on the East Coast it's pronounced loud with a th lol, one small point your videos are great so you don't need the click bait, it wasn't a crash just a pushed in wing mirror, you've had a few click bait videos now, you don't need that.folks your better than that. 😊.

guys i think your great and been following you a long time but i had two issues with this video{please dont hate me} but think the title is just click bait and its one thing ive enjoyed about u guys for keeping the videos real up until this title. also the second issue was the cafe your comment was very derogative you should never judge a book by its cover . but other than those two was a great blog and enjoyed it. looking forward to your european adventures.
nice to see you guys down my neck of the woods, so glad you turned around when you did, don't think you've of got space to do as the car park had height restrictions and probably not any room for a 7.5t lorry to spin around, glad you got to see the Humber bridge and got motorhome rates 🥰
Senior going across the toll have you registered your vehicle as a motorhome on the logbook or are you going to register it as a motor home on your logbook
Just a quick question, what if someone is trying to break in to your truck when you r parked up for the night , how do you get into the cab to drive of with out getting out side , don’t want to scare you just wondering , lovely to see you back on the road , be safe
Just a small concern: condensation is quite normal for any Motorhome, however there are regulations around ventilation in a leisure vehicle, it might just be worth checking you have that base covered to make it the most healthy and happy place to be - anyone ACOP certified engineer should be able to help out the mm2 venting you require for the flu less appliances/number of habitating
Hi Guys you probably had this question before but how did you get on with the DVLA about how many traveling seats your vehicle now has and what is the Vehicle now classed as? Cheers Kev x
We are sourcing windows at the moment. Don't worry the kids have plenty of things to do if they so wish, watching videos, colouring, puzzle books and of course chatting!!! ☺️
I definitely use a truck sat nav or app and take the easier route other road users don’t have time or patience for trucks you soon understand what I mean but the truck looks amazing
Really like your channel, and your truck build excellent, tip When filling up put a tennis ball in the handle wrist doesn't ache lol All the best from Thailand
I clipped the mirror on my test. Didn’t phase the examiner at all. He wound the window down and sorted it, without comment, until the post mortem, after giving me my pass. Freaked me out, though!
When your in the truck, stop moving over as far left to the kerb because cars will only move in a little bit, if you keep right as far as you can car will see that and move right in out the road, that’s what I’ve found anyway
Ludlow in Shropshire has a food festival if you like artisan and local foods. Everything from breads and meats to curries and is set in the castle grounds. But it's only on in the summer so it would have to be a next year thing. 😁
With regards to the mpg, if you brim the tank and then zero the mileage or note it down you can then work it out exactly. Litres divided by 4.546 to get your gallons and then your kms divided by 1.6 for your mileage. You will then work out exactly what you are getting as the computer on the dash isn’t a perfect science. Happy Travels 👍🏻👍🏻
Congratulations on everything I really like what you have achieved so far. I have a question: Is the truck still registered as commercial or as an rv? Thanks
We didn’t finish watching your vlog this week guys as we were perturbed by your comment Keira about the Cafe. As a content creator your remarks could have a detrimental affect on someone’s business. Fair enough if you had been in there and eaten and it was rubbish. There are many “shacks” along the east coast that steps you back in time - this looks like one of them - I hope they hv a thriving business & continue to do so.
Please don't be one of those people who needs to censor TH-camrs thoughts, otherwise vlogs will lose spontaneity. Her comment was perfectly acceptable.

Having seen 1st hand the damage even a small lorry like yours can cause ,I think the title is a little bit badly chosen . Driving a lorry is not a game mate and should be treated with respect , no lorry driver would knowingly throw themselves into a tight street to "test themselves" where they could potentially have problems when there was a perfectly good safe option like you said . My advice and I mean this respectfully is don't go down tight streets if you don't need to, use your mirrors more when passing parked vehicles or when passing pedestrians on yours NS even more until they're clear . I honestly enjoy your channel ,but it feels like you think driving a lorry is a game . Anyways I've had my say , may all your travels be safe ones Driver .
Good to see you enjoying the Humber Bridge. Next time you cross it there are some really nice walks and a play area on the opposite side. The chalk ponds are great. It’s called the Humber Bridge Country Park, or “Little Switzerland” locally.
Don't live in the area anymore but that little cafe was a lovely place to go.You have high expectations for a park cafe. Also there is a lot more to Louth than you showed but sadly you seemed to assume that people want artisan bread at their weekly market and high end food. Louth is a lovely little place.
While you're in york try York auctions on the A166 has an awesome cafe homemade cooked food and is a truck stop its absolute quality, plus love your build and travels🙌👍

guys i think your great and been following you a long time but i had two issues with this video{please dont hate me} but think the title is just click bait and its one thing ive enjoyed about u guys for keeping the videos real up until this title. also the second issue was the cafe your comment was very derogative you should never judge a book by its cover . but other than those two was a great blog and enjoyed it. looking forward to your european adventures.
nice to see you guys down my neck of the woods, so glad you turned around when you did, don't think you've of got space to do as the car park had height restrictions and probably not any room for a 7.5t lorry to spin around, glad you got to see the Humber bridge and got motorhome rates 🥰
Im a bus driver mate and mirrors are the first things you hit when first getting out there 😂😂😂❤
Love watching your build! What sort of mileage are you getting from a full tank? What do you both do to fund living on the road like that? ❤❤
Hi Guys you probably had this question before but how did you get on with the DVLA about how many traveling seats your vehicle now has and what is the Vehicle now classed as? Cheers Kev x
Give the kids educational videos to watch,
I definitely, think they r very bored back there, no windows? Why
We are sourcing windows at the moment. Don't worry the kids have plenty of things to do if they so wish, watching videos, colouring, puzzle books and of course chatting!!! ☺️
I think a special lorry gps where you can input height, length etc would be a good investment.
I definitely use a truck sat nav or app and take the easier route other road users don’t have time or patience for trucks you soon understand what I mean but the truck looks amazing
Thank you, we are using a truck sat nav and it looks good so far
great video shame you didn't edit out he child noise
Really like your channel, and your truck build excellent, tip
When filling up put a tennis ball in the handle wrist doesn't ache lol
All the best from Thailand
Ohhh Thailand! Thanks for watching our channel 😀
Epic Build. Safe Travells.👌
Cheers! Appreciate it 👍💙
Dislike. “Dad CRASHES”… no he clipped the mirror. No need for the click bait.
Great to see you making new adventures and memories on the open road ❤
Thankyou Helena!
Why don’t you fit windows behind the doors in the cab to make it brighter and so the kids can see outside. It’s very dark for them.
We are currently sourcing windows for the back.
Congratulations on everything I really like what you have achieved so far.
I have a question: Is the truck still registered as commercial or as an rv?
Thanks
Good night everyone naughty daddy crashing the lorry
tut tut hey 😂
Another great video. I saw you guys at the traffic lights coming out of Sainsbury’s today 😁. How’s Charlie getting on now is he travelling better ?
Ah nice! He's still not a fan, but he is enjoying all the space he has in the lorry, especially chilling on the sofa.
@@baconbuttties TH-cam creators are creative & spontaneous, but can do this without bringing down another business. I don’t make these comments lightly
@@magneticnicky2073 Her description was exactly what I was thinking and most likely many others.
@@baconbuttties I really don’t know why because the east coast has a fair few of them dotted about - you know what I am saying anyway.
@@magneticnicky2073 It wouldn't stop me going there if the food was good.
Absolutely love the outtakes....validation 😂❤
Haha always having fun with it
Hi just found your channel have children similar age just a question do you home educate and when and how x
Never judge a book by its cover i went to a cafe in a layby once n it looked absolutely grubby however the breakfast was spot on 😂😂😂 tbf best iv ever had
Hm the sweet bakery on the marked, must bean a 100% for Big and small! Enjoy traveling! From Peter Eriksson Sweden! 😊😊😊
nice to see you on a shake down run. no problems i hope, how is charlie doing travelling in the truck than the van, is it easier on him?
Unfortunately he's still not enjoying the travelling part. But, he is loving living in the lorry. Loads more space for him!
Good to see you enjoying the Humber Bridge. Next time you cross it there are some really nice walks and a play area on the opposite side. The chalk ponds are great. It’s called the Humber Bridge Country Park, or “Little Switzerland” locally.
It was great. Didn't realise you can also cross it on foot aswell, that would be pretty cool!
Doncaster market on a Friday spot on. A little busy but foods good
Don't live in the area anymore but that little cafe was a lovely place to go.You have high expectations for a park cafe.
Also there is a lot more to Louth than you showed but sadly you seemed to assume that people want artisan bread at their weekly market and high end food.
Louth is a lovely little place.
Not assuming everyone wants artisan stuff, but we did 🤣 still it was a lovely place and we would definitely come back!
I must have missed the crash. A bit clickbaity again. Unnecessary. Your vids are good enough without that.
Have you got a ballpark figure for how much it costs to insure this vehicle?
Around £700
I pay more than that for my scooter so that's not bad.@@Touringwiththekids
While you're in york try York auctions on the A166 has an awesome cafe homemade cooked food and is a truck stop its absolute quality, plus love your build and travels🙌👍
