It sounds pretty good if someone is going for a clear, bright mic. I was actually looking at this yesterday and back when no one had it in stock everyone was advertising it for $99 but yesterday it seemed like everywhere but Thomann had it for $120. I'm waiting to see if the price comes back down again.

      That's the sucky part....getting it at 99....advertising for 99....and then it's 119 🤦

Table Pounder! Better to be crispy vs muddled. One can always put a foam cover on it to reduce the crispness. Impressive plosive rejection.

    Behringer - derringer - Behringer! 😃
It’s definitely a good sounding mic while using the pop filter. It might be fun to try that pop filter on the worker bee and get a little closer to it.
    Nice review.

It's basically a cheaper version of the NT1-A but i think that's pretty cool ! It sounds good, looks good, and you have the pop filter and shock mount with it, this mic is a very good deal in my opinion !

I had to get the Rode NT1-A, because everyone was raving about it. Used it a few times and sent it back. It wasn't bad, just didn't LOVE it. Ordered the $99 TM1 last week, and, FOR MY VOICE, it's a better mic. In fact, I love this microphone. I'm in love with a Behringer & I don't care who knows it! Ha! It is extremely quiet and smooth. Better than any comparably priced ($99-$150) condenser I've used. Went ahead and also ordered the $80 B-1, because it's been touted as a great underrated mic for years by voiceover folks. I know Behringer is a clone factory. But in this case, they did it better as well as cheaper.

    • @ObscureMics

Sometimes they hit one out of the park. It helps that the mic was made by Tannoy before BEHRINGER bought them lol

@ObscureMics true. I think the company gets slagged on, sometimes justifiably. Can't argue with the great value of the XM8500, and plenty of people have been using their budget mixers and interfaces for years. Oh, did they get sued over the BX2020? Seems to have disappeared.

JFYI - Tannoy TM1 was measured to have bigger self noise than NT1-A.
Behringer version on the paper has even lower self noise. By ear, 4.5dB is possible. Rode is 5dB.
And I'm not sure whether it was said, but you could test Worker Bee without stock popfilter, because it decreases the quality. It's better to replace it.

Damn! I had the chance to get the Tannoy for like $60 a couple years ago, but the demos weren't this good. I assume it was already being manufactured at Music Tribe the same way. And just curious how you felt about Punk in Drublic when you first heard it back in the 8th grade?

I'd gladly hear a comparison between TM1 and AKG P120 or maybe MXL 770, or even more Blue Ember.
      Different MICs to test?
The closest in price (at least used) is... Do I know... AT2020?
But just for voice P120 is rather better than AT2020. So here comes AT2035. But it's expensive.
Preferably I'd gladly hear out these brighter dynamics:
ISK ICDM, Prodipe M-85, or more expensive:
Lewitt MTP 250 DM, Mackie EM-89D, but these two have already some decent reviews and comparisons.
For ISK search for the first YT review and link in the description decreases price for 30 bucks or something.
