    Love it! Thanks for doing this because the only pedals I’ve got is in my car!

    Oh what fun! I enjoyed hearing all of the different sounds!

    I usually enjoy the more traditional sound of the uke, but it still was a lot of fun to learn about some of the different things you can archive with the efects. Keep up the good work Baz! Really enjoy your videos

    Loving the fact i've triggered a traditionalist so quickly. SO easy...

    Great idea for a video! Please keep them coming. I don't see enough content for electric ukes. I've got a Risa and a Pono chambered body and I've only just begun to experiment with effects pedals. The possibilities seem endless... :)

    And a great crash course in (guitar) pedal effects. Thanks, Baz.

    I use an Acoustic Amp with my Uke. Do pedals work with Acoustic Amps as well.

    I love playing my uke through effects. The real fun is when you throw a looper in the mix.

  • @mariemcdonald6488
    @mariemcdonald6488 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I was thinking of getting a looper pedal but I may have to broaden my horizons after this.

    • @GotAUkulele
      @GotAUkulele  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Loopers are fun, but I think quite over-done. Of course a looper would go at the end in this chain and can loop the whole thing!

    You've a nice pedal set-up. Fun to hear a uke run through those pedals. Reminds me of someone I just saw using a bow on a uke, again proving that once you take the governor off your imagination, anything can happen.

    • @GotAUkulele
      @GotAUkulele  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly Lyndsey - whilst i've not used pedals on uke for some time (this board has been built up for the guitar), it's fun to run the uke into it. Annoys the hell out of the traditionalists too... ;-)

    Nice pedal board. I like to use reverb with my ukes to fill out the sound. Like you I tend to use my pedals with guitars, but that fuzz did sound real nice with the uke. I might have to give it a try. 👍

    • @GotAUkulele
      @GotAUkulele  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yep it did - and bear in mind because the audio was focussed on my voice you were listening to both the speaker and the acoustic sound of the uke. In reality the speaker would just be fuzz. Reverb is my favourite effect and would never NOT use it

  • @emm_arr
    @emm_arr 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    An octaver can bring a uke pitch down an octave so you are playing win the guitar's normal range - and a two-octave octaver gives you a really low G (if you have a low G string) that is the G above a bass guitar's E.
    Much fun.

    I have a digitech trio band creator and a boss 100 katana amp and have a great time playing around with all the different sound combinations. Thanks for your reviews. Just placed my order for the Klos all fiber electric because of your review on it, can’t wait to try that with the above mentioned equipment.

    I haven’t a clue what you’re talking about, however, I turned over from the football to watch it. Very interesting Barry, it’s amazing what you can do these days. Looking forward to your review tomorrow. I received my Millar Phil Doleman Uke yesterday so playing with that at the moment. 👍

      @GotAUkulele  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nothing new here Keith - most of these have been around since the 1960s! Hendrix used a fuzz pedal!
      Nice choice with the Millar - nothing I’d change on that soprano

      @@GotAUkulele it’s a great ukulele. Thanks. Sadly I’m not a natural musician but love the ukulele community and am always amazed what can be done with such a simple instrument.

  • @Andy78Roo

    I love the traditional ukulele sound, but I equally enjoy exploring new sounds our instruments can make. Both are valid and the traditionalists should bare in mind that we can accommodate all opinions without being cantankerous. I loved this video. Baz, what would you say are the 'must haves' pedal wise for a electric nylon-stringed ukulele?

    • @GotAUkulele
      @GotAUkulele  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Personal opinion of course but would never be without reverb. In fact for the naysayer above - every performance I’ve ever seen by pro uke players on stage use reverb. Why? Because it sounds nice. Other than that would not be without tremolo myself

    As a novice with effects pedals and what they do, I found this a really informative and easy-to-understand video. Thanks Baz! I also did some quick sums and reckon you've got about £1,280 in pedals alone there, excluding the pedal board itself and the patch cables, which probably add another £130(ish). Think I might have to stick to the unadulterated acoustic sound for now, although I can see the attraction of all those effects in skilled hands (or feet?).

    What do you think about the future of the ukulele seems that is going more in electric way and solid body do you agree?

    • @GotAUkulele
      @GotAUkulele  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think they are certainly cementing their place more than they ever did - but the biggest sellers are still the traditional ukes from what I understand. Nice for there to be a bit more balance though.
