nice point. but my findings are that epoxy will go soft in presence of oil, and in fact I have made repairs to stocks previously repaired by epoxy, which has separated. CA glues are resistant to oils and are as strong as the rest of the wood.
You are a great gunsmith. I love watching your repair videos. Keep it up. Thank you
Thanks, will do! 👍
We need a good gunsmith like you here in New Zealand

A 2 day turnaround is unlikely if it needs new springs
Side by side shotguns are the best. Nice video.
thank you.
The spray at 9.00....was it an accelerator?
Yes a generic mitre accelerator used with CA glue in carpentry. 👍
What stain are you using?
A spirit based walnut coloured stain
What was in the spray can?
Give me a timeline as Ive slept since I made the video 😂👍
What oil did you use?
Boiled linseed oil, and possibly alkanet root steeped inside linseed oil..
if so what type of accelerator? Brand?
Any accelerator for CA glue will work
Nice video
Thanks
Would you consider as an alternative method to relieve the wood generously through the entirety of the crack and fill it with epoxy?

Hi, what solvent did you use for cleaning the wood?
Acetone or everclear/ methylated spirits will work..
@@devongunsmith4698 Thanks, acetone is good for congested sinuses ):
