I’m glad that you decided to add the clip with music from Sonic. That was a thing that was really missing from some other videos; you’d discuss the soundtrack without demonstrating it at all. By the way, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was also released for the Master System, but in Europe only (Sonic 1 was the final game in the USA though). It was nothing like the Mega Drive version, they didn’t even try to mimic the levels or soundtrack from the Sonic 2 that most people know.
The Master System had more games released after Sonic depending on where you live in the world as Sonic 2 and even Sonic Spinball was released in 1995 thanks to Brazil, hell they even got Street Fighter II on the Master System in 1997.

if you discount the technicality of Starfox 2 then Fire Emblem Thracia 776 in 1999 beats frogger overall (even though it was a JP only release) in terms of SNES
Breath of the Wild wasn't the last Wiiu game at all. Shakedown Hawaii was. But regardless of that fact how would BotW being the last one be "strange"? it was a game developed for it ands part of one of Nintys biggest franchises, it would be strange for them to not release it more than actually doing so. Also the final N64 game was Bomberman 64 (not the same one released in 1997 but a new one with the same name released in Dec 2001. Your researchers need a swift kick up the arse.
Tony Hawk 3 was released on N64 several months after the other versions of the game, I’m pretty sure August 2002 was later than December 2001. As for Breathe of the Wild being the last game on Wii U? Yeah triple jump totally fucked up

Some guy keeps posting on a post of mine like yours telling me Sonic isn't on Master System but Mega Drive and posting fake news, even though posts like yours saying the same as me
Indie games don't count. Once the rights have been released on a console anybody can make games for it. People are still making Atari, Intellivision and Colecovision games. The last Dreamcast game was _Karous_ in 2007.
When it comes to old school consoles like the Super Nintendo, I think the title of last game released should go to the final first party physical release, so Kirby's Dreamland 3 qualifies. Otherwise, there'd be no such thing as a last game for these consoles because new titles come out for them all the time like Xenocrisis on the genesis. Even third party titles came out on the Wii-U after breath of the wild, none of them good, but still.
There's a difference between official 3rd party titles and indie releases for dead systems. Xenocrisis is not an official release but SNES had games after Kirby 3 and those are official releases approved by Nintendo.
We’re really disrespecting the Xbox One now? Sure the controller is of cheaper manufacturing quality, but the games are still good, it’s got Cuphead on it
Honestly, I don't think most people would know which game is the last game on a console, as they can be released months after the next generation launches. That overshadows games from the last generation, and companies have no desire to specifically point out that a console is officially dead or that BLANK was the last game released for it. I think it's only determined later on, after no other games were released for a certain amount of time, as only then is it clear that the console is complete.
Homebrew studios still make games for many retro systems. For example new NES games are published nearly every year. But the homebrews usually have very limited availability, like 100-1000 cartridges.
I have a few questions: 1. Why did the royal Bank of Scotland have an Enzo? 2. Why was it in Malibu? 3. Why out of anyone did they let that guy drive it?

Breath of The Wild had multiple delays meaning it very well may have saved the Wii U - not only that most of Nintendo's output for the Switch has been Wii U ports (Odyssey aside). Kind of ironic really. The Wii U should have succeeded, if only Nintendo didn't completely screw up differentiating it from the Wii.
It might seem odd but when I was a kid, I enjoyed the Game Gear version of Sonic the Hedehog more than I did the Mega Drive (or Genesis where I'm from) version. I played the SHIT out of that game on Game Gear, and I assume from the looks of it it's the same version that came out on the Master System. It's worth checking out, I'm not sure if it's really held up but it was really fun back in the day.
Due to parents taking advantage of me being too young to even know the Mega Drive existed.. Sonic on the Master System *was* the Sonic of my childhood 🥰 Makes me a little sad that it's never really acknowledged.
Right now there's a game up for pre-order for the Sega Mega Drive and Genesis, it's called Daruis, so this console is getting a game release more than 20 years after the last console was produced.
Worms makes more sense for the Jaguar when you consider the system was British technology, and that most 3rd parties didn't care about the technology and just made cheap ports for the 68000 Motorola boot-up chip. (Same chip seen in Amiga 500.)
It certainly was ballzy for Activision to help out with the porting of THPS3 to the N64 despite the fact. Either way, it did show that the N64 had a bit more life to offer than Dreamcast when that system was discontinued! As a matter of fact, THPS3 didn't even come out on Dreamcast back then.

The Sega Master System version of "Sonic The Hedgehog" may have been completely different from the Sega Genesis (or Mega Drive, for all you Europeans) version, but at least it's still pretty fun and enjoyable, and the Sega Master System version of "Sonic The Hedgehog 2" was also better than the Sega Game Gear version despite both games playing exactly the same.
The Worms were feasting on the Jaguar carcass ha. Thanks to homebrew games several of these consoles continue to live, getting a little stricter with the criteria by counting official releases still means these old dinosaurs aren’t dead. Cartridge reprints approved by the copyright holder are what I’m talking about, those aren’t officially licensed by the console maker so you can argue they too should be disqualified.
I bought the Wii U because of Mario Maker and the promise that it would have a proprietary Zelda game, so I'm glad we got Breath of the Wild, even if the Wii U feels like some crappy switch prototype at this point.

@matt fahringer yeah
The amount of inaccuracies here is pretty bad.
Yeah I’m surprised at this too. There were at least 2/3 other Sonic games for Master system after the one they mention
@@neverwhere3416 problem is the region, as us last release was 92 then EU in 94-95 and Brasil in 98
Whoever was in charge of the content for this list didn't do enough research.
THPS 3 on N64 was based on psx version, so it wasn't such a big of a deal.
Fun fact: Turn down the PC version of this game to its lowest settings and it looks virtually identical to the N64 port. Fog, lowpoly character models and blurry textures, it's all there.
The NES has a new boxed game coming out next year which is pretty rad. I hope it never stops.
6:58 is that Jack Black?
yup
Yes it is. lol
I just got a copy of retro city rampage physical on wii. Did that precede just dance?
Breath of the wild was absolutely not the wiius last entry
totally random like-I LOVE the piano piece in this video that has played in other videos (often during Peter segments), its such a soothing background for the vids, always love hearing it.
Technically Shakedown Hawaii came out on the Wii after Just Dance 2020, but it was sold through Limited Run Games so I’m not sure if it counts or not.
Doesn't really count tho
What's strange about a Zelda game coming out on a Nintendo console?
Darksiders warmastered was the last game released on wii u.
I’m pretty sure Retro City or something is getting a physical release for Wii still
Retro City Rampage and Shakedown Hawaii came out a few months ago and are the final Wii games.
Shakedown Hawaii also came out on the WiiU last month and is the final WiiU game.
I had Sonic 2 on the Master System? So, did Sonic 1 come out AFTER its sequel? Weird.
*busts open door*
OH I'M SORRY IS THAT XIAOLIN SHOWDOWN?!
The N64 was a brilliant console with an essential catalogue of games & I had Breath of the Wild on the Wii U not the Switch to take advantage of the game pad
6:58 Fun Fact, that's Jack Black
His face didn't change at all since childhood.
Sonic 1 wasn't the last game for the Master System a lot of other games we're released for it after that on Europe and Brazil including Sonic 2
Some guy keeps posting on a post of mine like yours telling me Sonic isn't on Master System but Mega Drive and posting fake news, even though posts like yours saying the same as me
if you discount the technicality of Starfox 2 then Fire Emblem Thracia 776 in 1999 beats frogger overall (even though it was a JP only release) in terms of SNES
Metal Slader Glory: Director’s Cut was a super famicom game released even later than Thracia, releasing in late 2000
Fifa 14 was released on 3 different generations? That explains a lot.
Yet Madden 25 wasn't. SMH.
@@bychrischannel more people play FIFA than madden 😂😂
Yeah triple jump totally fucked up
Some people want the consoles even if there are no new games being released for it.
As we all know, only some games get brought to the latest platforms. While there is a lot of trash left behind, there is also some game gems left behind (i.e. Shadow Hearts).
Sonic the hedgehog was not the last game released on the master system. It wasn't even the last sonic game on the master system.
Some guy keeps posting on a post of mine like yours telling me Sonic isn't on Master System but Mega Drive and posting fake news, even though posts like yours saying the same as me
Shakedown Hawaii came out on Wii this year.
@Sandman Slim why
@Sandman Slim it was rather news even on sites like IGN not just small Nintendo sites as things like it are a curiosity
OH YEAH HERE WE GO SPORTS TIME! Oh wait..its not that kind of video. Oh well im still here.
Sonic The Hedgehog was the final Master Systsem game? Who researched this shit? Several Sonic games were released in ensuing years, notably Sonic The Hedgehog 2 and Sonic Chaos. The console enjoyed official releases up to 1998 in PAL territories, and continued for several more years in Latin American countries.
Some guy keeps posting on a post of mine like yours telling me Sonic isn't on Master System but Mega Drive and posting fake news, even though posts like yours saying the same as me
I was fully expecting Schnappi 3 Fun-Games to appear on thid list as it's the last game for the PS1 to come out in 2005.
i feel like a game for the Sega Dreamcast would of been on here but since there still making games for the system, that may never come to pass
Indie games don't count. Once the rights have been released on a console anybody can make games for it. People are still making Atari, Intellivision and Colecovision games. The last Dreamcast game was _Karous_ in 2007.
Pes 14 was released on PS2 because a lot of people in South America still used the PS2 at the time
When it comes to old school consoles like the Super Nintendo, I think the title of last game released should go to the final first party physical release, so Kirby's Dreamland 3 qualifies.
Love how original your lists are guys honestly, it's incredibly refreshing
We’re really disrespecting the Xbox One now? Sure the controller is of cheaper manufacturing quality, but the games are still good, it’s got Cuphead on it
Vita is still getting games in 2021 BOIIII.
The last GBA game, Samurai Deeper Kyo, was a... very odd decision in Nintendo's part. A bit disappointed.
Was there any actual research done for this video? Almost as bad as a WhatCulture video with all the errors.
The Wii U had a lot of really good games on it, but it was not marketed well at all
can't believe you skipped Guitar Idol for the Mega Drive or the other TecToy marvels for the Master System
Homebrew studios still make games for many retro systems. For example new NES games are published nearly every year. But the homebrews usually have very limited availability, like 100-1000 cartridges.
Fifa 2005 on the Playstation 1. one year later we got the xbox 360. Or that one gba game based off an anime in 2008. Well into the ps3 and 360 era.
Fun Fact: A Kirby game was the final 1st party Nintendo game for the SNES, Wii, and 3DS.
I have a few questions:
1. Why did the royal Bank of Scotland have an Enzo?
2. Why was it in Malibu?
3. Why out of anyone did they let that guy drive it?
I enjoy and respect your channel and videos but there was actually a Mickey Mouse game released in 98 (Brazil but it is an official release).
Sonic was released June 23/91 (my birthday) and there’s a lot more games released afterwards including Sonic 2 😂, Sonic Spinball was 95 and there was Sonic Blast released in 97.
Like I say though I love your channel

He’s possibly American because Sonic 2 was released in PAL and not NTSC.
You’re right and he’s wrong 🙂
Surely loads of games were released after sonic on master system? Sonic 2 for starters

@@masofdas sonic 1 and 2 were very much on the master system. Had them both as a kid. Heck theres even you tube videos of them

When are you doing the best handhelds list? I loved the best consoles list and how well researched it was!
Eriksson didn't just crash an Enzo... He split it in HALF.
What an innovative top 10 concept ...
I'm gonna be honest with y'all, I wanted the N-Gage when it first came out and I don't know why to this day.
Due to parents taking advantage of me being too young to even know the Mega Drive existed.. Sonic on the Master System *was* the Sonic of my childhood 🥰 Makes me a little sad that it's never really acknowledged.
RIP Atari, Sega, N-Gage, etc.
Right now there's a game up for pre-order for the Sega Mega Drive and Genesis, it's called Daruis, so this console is getting a game release more than 20 years after the last console was produced.
Hang on, what? Really? I though they covered it in Sega games ranked. Thats odd
I will fight anyone who tells me the megadrive Sonic 1 is better than the master system.
I have Gremlins, I didn't realize it was the 5200's last game
Worms makes more sense for the Jaguar when you consider the system was British technology, and that most 3rd parties didn't care about the technology and just made cheap ports for the 68000 Motorola boot-up chip. (Same chip seen in Amiga 500.)
It certainly was ballzy for Activision to help out with the porting of THPS3 to the N64 despite the fact. Either way, it did show that the N64 had a bit more life to offer than Dreamcast when that system was discontinued!
As a matter of fact, THPS3 didn't even come out on Dreamcast back then.
The Village ending was actually shocking to me. I enjoyed it. 😅. However is latest movies are truly to question.
This is the first list you guys have done where I feel your research was poor. A 5 second Google search tells me multiple entries are wrong, especially the Master System one - hell there were more Sonic games released after that one!
They've been fairly hit or miss this year. Let's chalk it up to COVID.
Some guy keeps posting on a post of mine like yours telling me Sonic isn't on Master System but Mega Drive and posting fake news, even though posts like yours saying the same as me
Sorry dudes, this video is filled with wrong information 😕
The ending was the best part of The Village.
Just Dance was actually kept alive by hospitals&rehab.
3:25 -- Since when did Hank Williams, Jr dance???
The Sega Master System version of "Sonic The Hedgehog" may have been completely different from the Sega Genesis (or Mega Drive, for all you Europeans) version, but at least it's still pretty fun and enjoyable, and the Sega Master System version of "Sonic The Hedgehog 2" was also better than the Sega Game Gear version despite both games playing exactly the same.
In fairness, BOTW on Wii U was Nintendo not stitching up Wii U owners. I think they did the right thing.
Don't say "Sness", it's f*n stupid.
I want this guy to narrate my life or speak about it at my funeral
Wow.
An interesting list!
At 7:01 that's a young Jack Black,
Wait, was that kid Jack Black in the Atari 5200 advert!?
I used to think worms was just a Java phone game.
I bought the Wii U because of Mario Maker and the promise that it would have a proprietary Zelda game, so I'm glad we got Breath of the Wild, even if the Wii U feels like some crappy switch prototype at this point.
