    • @TUBESPECIFIC1
      @TUBESPECIFIC1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      Right. It could be easily converted into a shelter or perhaps into an office building, or used for a tech school. Much is possible with a facility like this still in tact, but the people in charge don't care and are likely good and comfy the way America is in it's current state.

    • @mythicalpotatoes8832
      @mythicalpotatoes8832 4 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      It'd be really expensive (especially when there's still medical waste that's a big hazard) and somebody's gotta pay for that. Not saying it's a bad idea just nobody will want to do that when it won't benefit them.

    • @TUBESPECIFIC1
      @TUBESPECIFIC1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@mythicalpotatoes8832 Just has to be cleaned up, some interior design and furniture put in place, and place managed and staffed. Right, no one wants to do something that doesn't benefit them or that's going to be a cost overrun they don't have to incur. An executive group making decisions isn't interested in doing something that doesn't benefit themselves in a financial manner or provides themselves a service like a chartered jet airline or high end hotel. Look at how little they usually choose to pay and treat most of their employees through this entire world to get a better idea how they roll. I'm sure the group with this building in their portfolio doesn't know about the electricity and heating incurring a big cost that is probably so minute to them they don't notice. They're always more apt to waste than to share with those in need.

    • @TUBESPECIFIC1
      @TUBESPECIFIC1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @MemeBot I noticed. Every single day I see all these homeless all over my city. It's not only because we shut down mental hospitals, but it's a vast cultural and economic failing. Most Americans are only a paycheck away from homelessness and it can and does happen to lots of people. It induces mental illness and increases the likely hood of engaging in drugs and suicide. We do have a widening wealth gap clearly opening up and a polarizing political scene. It's doesn't look very good come the future...

      @@Regfife Yes, there are airborne pathogens. Let's just say I was surprised that Josh (and the other members of his crew) was wearing, at the very least, a surgical mask or some kind of face/filter mask. Remember, it is medical waste and must be handled carefully. Whenever I would dispose of anything in a "red" bin, I would wear protective gloves, a surgical mask and gown. I would also wear eye protection (high-impact plastic safety goggles).

      I think it’s despicable that hospitals of any kind shut down and leave blood and samples behind just for anyone to find . It’s totally irresponsible of authorities to not scrub these places clean especially bio hazard waste . Like you said working in these places when they are up and running is dangerous enough and to use protective garments etc imagine now when nothing is sterile the danger it is creating . Josh and his crew should be exploring with blue lights and see the crap they can’t see they’d be running out of there screaming 😱

    "Endo" - internal; within
    "Scopy" - observation; examination; or better yet an instrument ending in "-scope"
    Once you put it together it pretty much means a procedure where an instrument is being used to give a view of internal parts of the body. I feel like this hospital still could be used if people took the time to flip it and reconstruct it.

    My sister had a friend who was a self-taught dancer (ballet) and she used to dance by herself, alone in an entirely empty room in an abandoned hospital. It was untouched and clean because the entrances had been locked off but she had found a secret entrance. She never told anyone (including my sister as far as I'm concerned) where the entrance was. Office of the Chef. Is that the kitchen? It's likely a typical large dining facility with steel equipment and tiled floors. There would be two kitchen and dining areas. One for patients and one for visitors and staff to purchase food. Often times, both are of very poor to average quality food from freezer not requiring a chef to be on staff. It's just low hourly wage employees heating prepackaged corporate food and doing short order food like in fast food. Pay is only $7.25 to $10 an hour in this sort of work where it's not like years ago where you'd have career chefs and cooks with living wage and benefit levels though the boss may hold the qualification earning $35,000 to $70,000 a year before tax and deductions. This is in the USA...

    Radiologic Technologist here, the equipment seen here is pretty outdated, more then likely its left behind because more radiology departments utilize full digital imaging today as the image quality is far better and the radiation detectors are far more sensitive so radiation dose is decreased. Furthermore alot of the company's no longer make parts for the machines to stay operational thus making he equipment more or less scrap metal, but you can see someone had taken to tubes from the machines as that have expensive metals within the rotor. The equipment you seen was utilized for fluoroscopy studies such as Ugi's, barium enemas, esophageal studies, cystograms... ect. Film is not widely use any more for said reason's mentioned above. Love these videos btw.
