First off, Indiana Fever I am proud of everyone on this team. My only issue with the team is as a team, we need to protect our players, and I am sorry but I watched the entire season, and I can’t remember once that Caitlin Clarks teammates nor coaches tried having her back in adversity either on the court or in the press room. That is all I will say on this matter. Your schedule started in a very hectic manner, it was like the WNBA knew what kind of impact CC22 was going to have on the game and they put together the schedule in a manner that the Fever played a lot of games in a very small amoumt of time. These games were against some of the best most veteran teams in the league. The record was to be expected, very few wins against a lot of losses. Once the schedule became more fair and the team was able to get together and practice together it was evident that the team was gelling 100 percent. A lot of people were upset that CC22 was not selected to the Olympic team, but it probably was the best thing that could have happened for the team to give them even more time to practice together and become a cohesive unit. The Fever were a completely different team coming off of the Olympic break. Caitlin I implore you to keep the composure you had this year. We know as a culture there are certain terms we cannot use when speaking of others. I have never felt the need to use the term until this year, but I will still not use it. I did not grow up in a society where this term was so blatantly used when individuals didn’t get things they wanted and they could not come up with any other excuse as to why they didn’t get an award, a court settlement etc. God bless the entire Indiana Fever team for a great year. I will be praying that the governing body of the WNBA is either completely revamped and/or rules are put in place for truly horrendous fouls which can literally maim players or worse. I also hope the league looks at refs who have games with 23 fouls for one team while giving another team under 10 fouls. This is a blatant show of something wonky golng on with the officiating.
