    It's funny! I'm planning my own Cargo conversion. I watched another video where the owner built his shelf using "L" brackets. It's funny because last night I'm wondering about using e tracks and how to do it, and here you are! Thanks man! Another great idea!

    Appreciate your video. I just bought a 7x14 enclosed trailer with extended height. I put 2 strips of E track down the sides, and now with your video I am going to put 2 shelves up front using the single e track and 2x4 e track brackets like in your video. I buy storage units so having the 2 shelves will give me storage for all my packing supplies and handling items. Thanks again, Tim in Kentucky

    Dude! You read my mind three years into the future! This is exactly what I was looking to add to my trailer. Just wasn't sure how to go about it. Being the moron that I am, I never though to look for the "single" E-Track piece. Thanks for posting this.

    Now that's how to make a DIY video! Precise and to the point with fantastic and clever ideas on how to make the shelves. My wife has been wanting me to make floating shelves for her for a long time and now I know how to. Thanks so much for posting this video. 2:41

    I plan on a very similar nose using vertical e-track basically where you have single pcs and horizontal. I'd like to bring it out to side door and make it so whole shelf can be moved up near ceiling if needed and make cushions for to use as couch or bed too. I'd hide spare and related stuff on floor underneath most likely. Nice though!

    Would it be easy to adjust the height of the surface (for ex.) by removing it and then refitting it in to identical e-track hardware mounted higher/lower?
    Enjoyed this, thanks!

    Thank you. Would never have thought to use e track the way you did. Makes a lot of sense. Is that the painted grey e track? How's the paint holding up on it?

    • @shenaniganswoodworking3678
      @shenaniganswoodworking3678  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hadn't had any issues with paint, but they're in a "permanent use" setup, if I was continually taking e track accessories in and out I'm sure the paint would wear out over time

  • @diliano243

    self-tapping screws are for metals, you want wood screws to go into any wood and studs

    • @lawnsbyglen8760
      @lawnsbyglen8760 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      There is metal studs behind the wood walls, that is why you use self tapping screws

    • @frenchfryfarmer436
      @frenchfryfarmer436 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Walls are paper thin wood.....only true "structure" is the narrow flange on each side of the steel frame....these trailers are a step above a tarp. If you want to do it right...get rid of luan..Insulate with foam between steel.....sheet with 5/8" ply.

    • @shenaniganswoodworking3678

We recently moved to a new house (Aug 15) and had stacked boxes of stuff underneath the shelf as well as on the shelf all the way up to the ceiling. If I had seen your comment in would have weighed all the items I placed on it! We moved to the mountains in Virginia and the trailer pulled great with no issues with the shelf! I also get on the shelf and I weigh 130.. so I feel confident that itll do well with 135lbs =)
