In this video, I will show you how to crochet drawstring pouch in whale shape! This is the second version of my whale pouch without zipper. This is not only adorable but aslo beginner friendly! And also fast to make! I hope you enjoy this video! Love you all (∩˃o˂∩)♡

Correction: in round 1, you will have to make 9 DC not 8. But if you make DC till the last stitch, you might not have a problem💕

Really love how you have the pattern steps at the bottom while describing it! I'm new to crocheting and want to learn how to read patterns eventually, but currently struggle without a video. Having the pattern in the video has really helped me to learn how to interpret written patterns!

Hi ! Im at the very beginning of this tutorial, and correct me if im wrong, but with 12 chains, skipping the first 2 chains and then making 8 double crochets leaves you with 2 chains at the end, not 1, so to only have 1 chain left you'd need to make 9 double crochets instead 🤔 im kind of confused :c
i'll admit the instructions are a lil vague but at the end of dc 8 the instruction said or dc until the end of the ch ! i followed that instead bc i know it's more correct than the initial instruction 😅
Im super late ik but if you're facing that problem i recommend that instead of skipping 2 chains skip 3!
I don’t think it’s a mistake because you skip 2 chains, do 8 double crochets which leaves you with 1 at the end, which you have to do 3 double crochets in

This is really late but, I counted how many she did and she actually did 9! It was probably just a mistake, so just continue till you’re left with one stich. :DD

Why is it 8 dc when theres like 10 spaces, so its basically 9dc and and an extra space for the 3dc in one st

When adding to the body are you suppose to dc in the chain or no? I’m a little newer to crochet and I see holes where the chain is and I’m not sure if I’m doing it right but it’s still very cuteee
My whale ended up larger than anticipated with 12 stitches to start with, but it was so cute and my gf loves it!

just starting this now, i’ll update how it goes! because it seems there’s a lot of confusion in the comments! btw, im using a 4mm hook!
edit1: i chained 11 instead of 12 for R1, so i could still dc 8 back, and do the 3dc!
edit2: for R2, i started my dc inc in the same st that the chain was coming from, so i could keep along with the 8dc
So cute! I started it but it turned out too big (I think my yarn is bigger). If I make it smaller by doing less chains would I do the same amount of increases or less?

Help im so confused, at 2:15 i wasn’t getting it right, everytime i crocheted 8 dc i was left over with 2, not one, so do i add an extra dc or do i skip 3 intead?

this is so cute!!! thank you for the tutorial, I loved making this :) but at the end of every row with the chain 2, i ended up increasing the total number of stitches every row, so mine isn't a rectangle (it gets wider at the top instead of going straight up)- should I skip the last 2 stitches before making a slip stitch? It's still super cute and I appreciate your help so much!

i think i figured it out! when ur doing the dcs, you have to skip the last stitch that is attached to the ch 2 line before sl st into the second chain

Just keep making DC until last stitch. Make 3 DC together in last stitch 🩷

mine is too big i used 3.0 hook and 4 ply yarn
maybe u left too much space between each stitch, like kept the string too loose if that makes sense. if u pull the string tight while crocheting, ur stitches will b smaller, so i’m guessing the opposite will happen too but don’t quote me on it 😭🙏🏽

Hello, i'm a beginner in crocheting, i really like this whale pouch but cann't make sure if i make the right or wrong crochet in every row. because there's no written total in every line . Can someone please tell me how many crochet in every row?
Depends on how many chains u did at the start since its optional if u wanna make it bigger. But if ur doing 12 chains: correct me if wrong
R1: 11 stitches
R2: 10 stitches
R3: 17
R4: 12
R5: 21
R6: 14
R7 until 14: 14
R15: 10 i think?
R16: 10 i think also
R17: 10 aswell
Chain 1 and cut yarn

hi! idk if you still need the stich, but she just made a double crochet! the glicht happens when she starts to make the dc, she made the 2 chains, did the loop thingy with the hook (idk what is called) and she did the dc! after that you make dc in every stich (including the chains) ♡
