The only thing that I wish SHOULD BE STANDARD on both the King Ranch and the Platinum (the two highest trim) - trim is the bedliner - drop-in or spray-on.

We agree which is why we put a Spray-in Bedliner on our King Ranch and Platinum trucks.

I really thought the platinum would have more base features. My lariat has most of the base features other than the badging.

can you get a platinum without that ridiculous tail gate banner that says PLATINUM, a regular body color tailgate? or do I have to get a Lariat with all the options that come on a platinum?

The Platinum is not available without the Platinum covered tailgate. I would suggest getting a Lariat with the 502A package which should have most of the equipment options that come with the Platinum. Then the major differences would be the Platinum appearance features. Check out the Lariat video and see if that would work for you. Other possibility would be to order a lariat tailgate and switch them out.

At first glance I thought dealer sticker looked like a black powder rifle. That wouldn’t be PC. First thing I remove all dealer ID off vehicle. Problem solved. I wonder if they badge all Mustang cars too. Let’s see you special order a GT500 wait months and they pull cover off and your eyes immediately see their advertising all over your $80K car. Great. How old is the guy who thought this out.
