How to install a tree jack

- Hey y’all, this is my how to or step by step tutorial for using a tree jack. This video will show case the Borntraeger 53 ton tree jack. I was asked to do roadside trees on an old burn scar from 2020. They are nasty and brittle and not the best to wedge when dealing with back lean. I hope this helps, or makes sense. I kind of just learned through trial and error. So sit back and enjoy, don’t forget to subscribe or critique me.

Good job. Be safe.!
I always jack a half inch when i get the jack in, see the pressure build, then go further in my backcut, and then watch the direction of the pressure. I dont like using wedges and a jack, its too much to compete with the bar. If possible, i have another person jacking while im cutting, in an ideal situation.
I getwhy you use the wedges, in case the jack fails, but would only do that when im running solo
Great video
Nice work mang! Quick question: I know every tree is different but did you decide to put the face in first for a reason? Or decide to jack it after the fact?
I put the face in first because it was a bigger tree and figured it wouldn’t sit back as I put the face in. If the tree has way more lean or weigh back there, I would have put the back cut and jack in first. Maybe I’ll make a video on that when I get one.
very helpful man :)
Glad to hear it!
@@matthewmeckley how is the 592 doing for you 😊😊😊
@@chriskennedy7262 keeps a big smile on my face. It’s a treat to use!
@@matthewmeckley going to get one soon 😊😊😊
My man, you are telling me that the log was meant to fall into the road? Where are the flaggers? Where are your road signs? I dont see a single sign warning of felling…and i domt see a single person in the viewing direction stopping traffic….
Thats not a logging road, thats a highway
The road is a complete shut down. The flaggers were far away on both sides. The log was meant to be cut onto the hill but due to it being dead for a few years it wouldn’t have stuck. The equipment was in stand by to move it once I was done. The objective was to get the tree down and not hit the guard rail or road with force to damage it.
Step one:
Get 3000$
Those leather shoulder plates on your braces save you from any loose hangers coming down on you yet?
Step 1: invest in safety and proper tools
Step 2: profit because you can do jobs others cant
Im a residential homeowner, with 80 acres, i have my own timberline tree jack, not a bottle jack
Too bad you can't see a damn thing. Perfect 😐
