Christmas already? Stooges and now Brother Wayne and the 5. Absolutely amazing! You're playing is unbelievably good. This video is far from pointless, au contraire! I was fortunate enough to actually meet Wayne Kramer in person back in 1996. He was touring his second solo album on Epitaph (Dangerous Madness) and playing in Bochum/Germany to an audience of 10 people. I was working for a German Music TV station and did an interview with him before the show. He was such a nice down to earth dude with a working man's attitude. And he played a fantastic show despite the small number of listeners. Great memories! Saw him again on the MC50 tour, great show man. If you could look at songs from the fantastic "Hard Stuff" (1994) or "Dangerous Madness (1996) LPs I would be more than thrilled. Every Friday is Adrian day!
I have all the MC5 albums, and Back in the USA is my favorite. Thanks for this fantastic lesson. More MC5. I agree with mikequinlivan below, a breakdown of Fred Smith's City Slang would be fantastic punk-garage lesson. Best wishes.
Say, I love almost everything you show how to play here, Sir!!! Building off of the MC5’s, Fred “Sonic” Smiths “Sonic Rendezvous Band had an incredible song called City Slang. That would be an awesome walkthrough as well. It’s pretty basic, but lots of little intricacies. Much love!
I spent aaaages trying to work this out when I was a lot younger. Never got those fiddly bits but I'll go give it another try. Might need an empty house!
Me too! MGE was my first intro to the concept of the Guitar Hero - Noise Noise Noise, Suicide and Smash It Up (Pt.1) then Hit Or Miss and Curtain Call off the Black Album
@@Ronno4691 Definitely.. there was never going to be any other choice than a white or yellow SG for my first guitar.. the Damned were always my favourite gigs... I would like to see more Captain lessons on TH-cam he is a great guitar player.. 👍
@@christophergray42 In the '70s, ALL my fave punk players used the Gibson cherry red SG so I had to get one (eventually). And a white SG Custom for those Alice Cooper licks :-)
Excellent Adrian!!! Great tune, both MC5 n the Damned's version are brilliant... yeah, the singles better than the album. Im gonna have fun w/ the looper bangin this out, the neighbours not so much!!
Great lesson ! Have you done a The Damned lesson yet? I would like to request Channel 7 Plan 9 perhaps with heavy use of Wah pedal. Please and Thank You. Although any Damned will do. At their live shows Captain Sensible is a hellaciously savory on the Wah.
Man-you really need to do Love and Rockets’ Holiday on the Moon. You’d love it, I suspect, and it’s a good simple lesson. Plus-one of the coolest intro riffs ever. And though I’m sure I’m the only one who will ever request it, I’m still gonna keep requesting. Please, please, please? 😊
Wow Adrian. I think I saw smoke bellowing from your fingers during the triplets in the second solo. Good to see the Marshal shredder out, that’s a Radiohead pedal. Perhaps it’s time for a cover?
Excellent! You should copy out your demos to separate videos as they are excellent covers. For me when i want to learn a tune I watch and listen to loads of covers rather than the original. Particularly if their done on an acoustic. Hearing all those variations helps a lot...
When Wayne got put in jail for gun possession an drugs ... '" he said he spent most of his days trying to get rid of news papers.. claiming the best punk gets jail time😂
I first heard of the MC5 when a friend played Kick Out The Jams for me, but I really got into them when The Damned covered Looking At You
Big influence on the Damned too, as they did a great cover on their third album.

I second that. City slang!

Great video, Adrian. Never pointless! This is one of my favourite songs, what a great band the MC5 were, I'm going to practice this.
I remember when you just had a handful of subscribers. Now, you"re creeping up on 300k. YOWZA!! Another one punched outta da park!! :)
Thanks Adrian, being from Michigan, the MC5 were always a favorite. There are some great old videos of the MC5 live.

Very nice, 👏, I first heard this as a cover by The Damned, love it!
Like deployed 👍

Wow, Adrian! Can’t go wrong with Professor Wayne for some blistering rock and roll. Love it!
That's it you've done it. You're shredding!
Lessons like these are why I LOVE this channel!!! Thank you for what you do!!!
MC5 and The Stooges ... You know your "classiques"! 😎👌
Excellent stuff. Always wondered how Wayne did that signature trill. That's going to take some work though. Many thanks.
It puzzled me for ages as well. Still does, actually.
Fecking excellent.
Awesome job .. I too wouldn't mind jumping on the above Damned requests.. Noise Noise Noise... would be my fave. Great channel. Thank you 🙌🍻

Check out the '68 single version for extra wildness.

Until Adrian does it, Jason Read here on YT does a creditable version that nails THAT intro.
You enjoyed doing those solos, cheers for the lesson.
Since you are fond of Detroit sound, i'd be amazed if you would do Funkadelic lesson.
i know Prakash John!

A perfect start to the weekend. Thanks, Adrian ! ! ! !
Great one. Cheers Adrian and have a good weekend.
There's a very very ragged (and excellent) White Stripes version of this
