    The real tragedy here was the mob that formed once packages started being opened and the mistake revealed. I've never had any brand just give me $100 because they couldn't fulfill my order, and that still wasn't enough for some fans. To see enthusiasts cursing at employees and threatening lawsuits even after the $100 credit had been issued was entitled and petty imho; and then those exact same people then get mad that Tecovas canceled their order (and still gave them the $100.) The only thing that would've satisfied some people is free boots and Paul Hedrick on his knees in tears issuing a personal apology.

      Maybe Tecovas could have a little quality control and not screw over customers

      @@unkownuser5809 Do you have any evidence that they were intentionally attempting to "screw over customers," or is that viewpoint based on speculation? Personally, I think it shows a severe lack of control when someone can't even wait for actual evidence of wrongdoing before they start verbally attacking employees who are far removed from the company decisions. Discussions facilitate more solutions than temper tantrums do.

      @@tyadalyn8930 when the introduced the boot to the world, you don't a single person in Leon Mexico saw the difference between the tecovas advertisement and the thousands of boots they just just made? They only waited until after shipped them out and got paid. What a coincidence this only occurred at Tecovas after they got a new CEO who was put there to increase profit and reduce operating costs? They are clearly cutting corners and this was the result.

      @@unkownuser5809 They still would've sold out with a belly-cut vs. a back-cut, and they lost a lot of money giving out those $100 credits. Look at the god awful birthday boot that still sold out. It literally just doesn't make any sense that they would've gone ahead and mailed out the wrong boots knowing they'd have to make up for it with all the $100 credits, when they could've just fessed up a day earlier and saved themselves thousands. Because like I said, the boots would've sold regardless. Your version just doesn't make sense, in addition to the stretch of assuming malicious intent without proof.

    Mistakes happen but it is how the company responds that really makes the difference. The fact that Tecovas is making an attempt to make things right with their customers is very important. They will definitely have to make sure the lines of communications are working well in the future. The fact that they had received 3 boxes and only used one box for the photos seems strange. I would have thought that each box would have been opened and examined. Time will tell how well they implement the needed changes. Fantastic video, Jeremiah!

    It is a pair of footwear. It is not a life-saving medication that was switched out for something detrimental to one's health. Return it, get your money back, and move on with your life. People online (and in society) these days are so trigger-happy when it comes to crying foul. A $100 credit towards another purchase is more than generous! The who's-to-blame game is no one's business but that of the company itself. Here's hoping that they correct the problem so that something like this does not happen again.

    Human error & quality control -- even boils down to quality of workmanship, too. There's always bad eggs in a large batch. Just like any other company in the world, mistakes were made, and how they're battling the PR now by doing damage control is the very corporate way of doing it. Took a hit, but will keep moving forward as they should. You cannot please everyone -- people just simply want to complain (personal gain & satisfaction, profit through social media, etcetera). I own 2 pair of Tecovas, and although they're not my dailies, I don't feel indifferent with them compared to anything else I wear. Truth be told, not many people around my neck of the woods pay attention to your boots -- everyone has them.

    There is something seriously fishy here. Tecovas notified it's customer base Nov 12th that this boot has been released via a text. Are we really to believe not a single tecovas affiliated person at the boot factory in Leon didn't see the boot on the website and say something to tecovas about it? Let's not forget they have a brand new CEO and C-suite brought in to make more profit and reduce costs, we don't know what was done behind the scenes or when they were aware of this issue, or if they thought they could get away with it. Out of the countless people in Mexico who work on these boots, in close contact with tecovas never saw the boot on the tecovas website when it was released? Or maybe tecovas just wanted to sell as many of these before they got caught because they knew they would be stuck with this product. This way they aren't stuck with hundreds of boots, but maybe only a fraction and figured maybe 50% returned is still better than being stuck with selling none of them. You guys need to stop pretending tecovas are a bunch of angels versus a cut throat company dead set on profit with their new CEO.

    Tecovas is such an odd company. They have loyalists, enthusiasts, and apologists that defend it like its their own company. I quickly left their Facebook group because I realized it was being run by Tecovas employees.Funny enough, I popped on it recently after being gone almost a year and it was the same thing......consumers posting pics of damaged goods and the "enthusiasts" arguing that they see nothing wrong🤣 Even stranger is that the boots are pretty average in design and build and many of us who own boots can see it immediately in the details. They are the IKEA of cowboy boots, so how have they had such mass appeal so quickly? Ive determined Tecovas is not a cowboy boot company but rather a marketing company selling boots. Full transparency, I do own a couple pairs and they are ok, but they aren't deserving of the mobs of loyalists that defend the company as if its their own. This latest debacle didnt surprise me in the least bit. Anyways, I have a beautiful pair of vintage 10d Justin Pythons that Id love to sell for less than half the price of these and I guarantee they are nicer even at over 30 years old. Got their cowboy boots and love them, actually like them more than my Justin's. A lot more comfortable. Idiotic is what this is. Say it comes down to marketing, but it in fact comes down to the persistent incorrect references to the cut of leather for snakeskin! If you are describing it as ‘belly cut’, the cut of leather you receive is one with the belly scales.
    I have collected exotic leather western boots for decades and always call boots displaying the belly scales “belly cut”. I fully appreciate the snake is is sliced up the back, but just like the many different ‘cuts of beef’, the description of the cut is what matters - not the act of cutting itself. Bias cut alligator, tail cut, belly cut, the list goes on. You don’t get the head of the alligator by purchasing a ‘neck cut’….. It’s head cut. Quit incorrectly referencing the style of boot by using cut as a verb and instead reference it correctly as a noun which it is!

    • @bgnPrinceton
      @bgnPrinceton ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You may be the only one....Google it and you'll see the python 'cuts' for boots are exactly as Tecovas presented. Plain and simple, someone screwed up the order and they don't have QC in place to make sure the factory is delivering what they are expecting. Either that or you side with the conspiracy theorists who believe they knew exactly what happened and let it go anyway, hoping the $100 would be enough to satisfy anyone unhappy with the situation.

      Except there is sooo much more that goes into the retail price of a boot. This simple statement is no longer valid. For example, Tecova's newest competitor is Rujo, who appears to be selling very similar quality boots for about $50 less across the board. And many reviewers have concluded that the Rujo is a superior boot overall. Tecova's prices have to cover the added overhead costs of store locations, expanded marketing efforts, plus their expansion into selling more than just boots. Sure, every item they sell is profitable, some more than others. But along with the expanded presence comes some 'prestige' which allows them to charge a bit more. Some believe their early year boots were much better quality than what they put out nowadays, back when they had a simpler business model. Btw, the Rose Anvil guy was disappointed with what he found in the $1000 Lucchese's. Obviously a bit chunk of that price is due to being made in 'Merica.

      Lucchese isn't impressive construction wise at all. Beautiful but built cheap internally.

      @@bgnPrinceton as somebody who has owned multiple Rujo and tecovas, there is no comparison. Rujo is superior in design, quality, fit and equal customer service. Plus better prices.

      @@unkownuser5809 I just wish they had more buying power as they're always OOS in the boots I want. Being a smaller player puts them at a disadvantage when sourcing from the same factory as the bigger players. Still looking forward to getting my first pair from them though. Actually first pair I bought I returned due to the color being nowhere near what it should have been.
