Ha! Just done the same with 4040 extruded aluminum single vertical piece rigidly held on a ply 15mm thick 24" x 24" baseboad. All parts were from ALIexpress...and cheaper than UK dealer by far.. (Think the 4040 a bit overkill)..3030 would do for a lightweight englarger such as the Intrepid 35mm/120 for instance...Slider I fitted with 4 runner wheels and brake knob. .I have an idea that might work for the slider to prevent a sudden drop...attach a wire to slider over the top down the other side to a lheavy weight running in the grove at the rear...Much check out the local plumber for lead! 🤣
I did that, too. Floor flange, 3' by 1" steel pipe, Superclamp, mount insert, ball head tripod camera mount with quick release plate. Height adjustment is a bit funky, but once you mark the column for various sizes, it's easy to set up for a particular film size or print size. I copy prints, slides, and negatives to digital. It also works for stamps, coins, and more. With the right ball head, it can be a TH-cam presenter desk to mount a camera above a laptop.
This is great! I’m recently getting back into to film photography using my Mamiya 645j. I bought it in 1979 and used it for years before life - and children - changed the amount of t of time I had to devote to photography as a hobby. Now retired with adult children and six grandchildren I’m finding I’m finding I have more time to shoot. I still shoot digital as well but am having a blast reintroducing myself to medium format film. I currently use a tripod set up with digital light box to scan negatives - old ones from thirty years ago as well as new ones. The service bureau I use offers scanned files when developing but I’d like to do my own scanning. I like your design but have one question - how do you attach your digital camera to the vertical column? I also wonder if I can use your design off Ventions website? I think you said that was an option but want to make sure. Thanks for your help!
I checked your design on Vention. Great design. Two questions, does the 4 inch plate slide up and down? Also, the plate with 1/4 inch hole, is it for the camera mount?

Think I preferred the guy who secured a pole to a piece of wood and used a photographic clamp...

Great video. I appreciate it! What transition did you use to connect the camera to the post?

Yes and yes. Thanks for taking a look. The series is starting up again very soon.
You aren’t actually going to scan your negs. You are going to be taking a photograph of them.
