The only game that made me have this weirded out feeling was a brazilian indie where you are lost in a kind of tropical forrest... Like NOTHING and nowhere felt right or safe at any time, even the soundtrack felt strange and sheeverish, it was so paranoia indulcing that i coudn't relax for the whole weekend and was on alert state for a while...
hello, I speculate a third secret ending, where the wolf saves you from being burned in the valley, since the wolf always seems to know where you are stepping, or the merchant saves you, if there is a way to save the merchant, he probably saved you in the end of being burned, but it would have to kill the "three" or in this case burn the talking tree on the first day before dawn, as at dawn they would probably kill the merchant... any theory on who kills and writes a liar on the merchant's helmet? ANOTHER MISSING POINT IS THAT EVEN IF YOU KILL THE DOCTOR, HE WILL APPEAR NEXT TO THE SLEEPING BEING!!! I try all kinds of theories, congratulations on the video
one of the best explanations i've ever watched for darkwood's story. Many analytical videos on this game leave out some details, you gave the full story and for that I enjoyed every minute. Good stuff man!
This came up on my recommended after I’d been looking for a story explanation of this game. The audio is a little hard to understand at times but great job editing and thank you for telling this story! Keep up the great work.
The tension during night events (in old woods) really freaks me out! darkwood is a TRUE HORROR SURVIVAL game. Scarier Than any triple A horror titles out there.
@elerigwen8013 yes old woods is the final, yet the most dangerous biome/hideout in chapter one and well-known for its notorious night events. but with a proper defense you might have survived each nightime with 200 reputations from trader. Tips: Scatter a variations of loot such as scrap metal and empty bottle for crafting bear traps and broken glass.
@ i found the swamp to be a better hideout for such dangerous night events so i didn’t even bother setting up in no.3 after i saw that it was practically a maze 💀
@@elerigwen8013 swamp hideout is the less scary hideout of all. But the mutants in this biome is no joke especially the human spider and swamp reptile. I feel so sad when someone killed the trader 🙁
It’s a scary game. I remember my first night playing someone knocked and I was like oh god please leave man who tf knocks at this hour in this neighborhood!?!!
And if you don't answer that one time you miss out on getting the Wedding Invitation. I didn't know about that and ignored the knocking which got more and more intense and the door started breaking down just as dawn broke and the screen went white.
20:10 Back in the time of the game (and even nowadays), rosin was used as a soldering flux (basically heat transmitter and antioxidizer). The guy is a tinker, not the Musician's secret brother.
This is awesome all around. I want more videos from you. You have wiite a way of looking at and explaining things. The way the video flows all excellent.
very cool video man! i have a suggestion though: sometimes the background music was too loud compared to your voice and I had trouble understanding you. other than that great job!
@@evilnigga444 I was implying heavy bruising or gangrenous necrosis, why did you bring race into this? I might be wrong in assuming that this was a dick joke, but my intention was to make a joke about the subject having medical problems in his private parts, not me implying that being black was a medical emergency, i get that this could be interpreted that way, but it was not my intention.
Super solid start for your channel. You pull off "the voice" without being obnoxious which is a truly rare skill :p Plus your editing is on point as is your sound mixing and most importantly (to me) the script is well written and immersive. It'll be neat seeing how you choose to move forward from here and watching what you've already done well improve as you hone your skills. Oh and anyone not the content creator reading this yep they are making more videos, I asked them, just be patient.
I liked the analysis, but I have a big complaint: I have a lot of trouble hearing your voice, because how naturally raspy it is and how low the volume is compared to the rest of the sounds and music. Saying all that, I really liked how you explained the story and characters.
Great video. I do have a question though, is there a reason why when you explain the story your voice is a lot more quiet than when reading written in game things? I had to turn my sound up a lot to hear you talk but then it was too loud when you came to reading in game stuff.
A lot of audio issues came about during both the recording and editing process of this video. Some of these against my control and some were just some noob mistakes tbh. All of these issues have been fixed for the upcoming video, and shouldnt be a relevant issue moving forward.
I really like this video and your style, keep up the good work :) As others have suggested though, please check through your audio carefully before posting for sound errors in the future :) the music got so loud at the 25~ish mark it was quite difficult to hear you. But! I also see this is your first vid so I'm subscribing and hope to see more :)
This video is really good! I noticed when the piano comes up in the videos music it makes your voice hard to hear especially when the story fet really good!
Hey this video was awesome but if you want to do more type of content like this then I recomend playing "fear and hunger" and "fear and hunger 2 termina" its an Horror, RPG, resorce manegment ,immersive simulator. The battle system is very diffrent then in other rpgmaker games when normaly one enemy is count as one enemy, one enemy has limbs like two Arms two legs one torso and one head a that count as an enemy and the two hands = two actions for the enemys
A good tip: have the music at least half as loud as your audio This is can be a big issue as the music can drown out what you are saying, which kinda is the point of the video… Silent hill home coming did this on the boat scene where it was a exposition dump for why they are going out to the lake but subtitles or turning up the volume absurdly would allow us to know what was going on…
Fantastic first topic for a video! Darkwood is extremely underrated and deserves more people talking about it. Just one suggestion for the future - please try talking without the vocal fry, it's very unpleasant to listen to and distracts from the points you're making. I'm subscribing and looking forward to the next vid!
Hey! I appreciate the kind words. Only time I will be addressing this, the vocal fry is mostly due to me being sick for about half the recording, later in the video you can tell it's a lot less fried and that's just my regular voice. Hopefully I'll be able to record in a better condition on my upcoming vid!
Great video, but I had to stop part way. The sound mixing was just to distracting and the volume at points being too loud then quiet the next was too much. When you read letters it got cringe inducing loud and the back and forth was annoying as I was listening in my vehicle. Tried to watch later and still the same. Then music was too loud to hear you much of the time. Great content but got to remember sound is just as important for a video and your hard work can be ruined by it too. Gotta to listen in other sources when editing otherwise that hard work can be for nought.
I just wanted to comment that I watched the video for like 5 minutes and couldn't understand more than a couple words, idk if the mic or how close you are to it or what but the words are completely unintelligible
I credited the steam post and the creator of the post in the video and description and entice people to go check out the written post. I did a lot to change the script though, actually, as the steam post doesn't really fit a narrative commentary style and there was a lot of stuff left out that I used the wiki for and a lot of liberties I took to not fully plagiarize someone else's work. But thanks for your input! PS, most commentary videos like this just read the wiki on their videos, so the criticism is dull at best 🙂
your voice is very difficult to listen to. speak with some confidence, with your chest and quit making your voice go low. awful listening experience made it impossible to watch
I'm commenting because I liked this and would love to see your channel grow. The vocal fry in the narrator's voice is very distracting and at some points very uncomfortable to listen to. If the narration can be done without vocal fry and over dramatization with voice, this would be perfect.
I love Slavic and Polish horror games, they have some kind of essence that no other games or developers can hope to capture.

Answering a knock at the door, even at 2 am, is only proper courtesy and you absolutely should answer
