I totally agree with what you said about it being over the top with the cussing. Sometimes it did feel mindless but like you said that’s GARTH ENNIS for you. He takes advantage of that max title haha. Reading this story almost felt like an independent story and not your traditional “marvel” story if you will. I think that’s what I loved about it so much. It’s like marvel for the “grown folks” haha. Love your commentary on your reviews man. Well done. Hope you review Vol 2.
This definitely has a very indie feeling to it. You could honestly rename all the characters, remove any reference to Marvel properties, and it would still work very well as a hard-boiled vigilante tale. It feels very different and I like that. Thanks so much for watching and commenting, my friend! Will definitely review Vol 2 when I get a chance to read it 🙂
Ordered it today. Really looking forward to it, espeecially since I've never heard anything bad about it. I generally like Ennis & the character of Frank Castle, so I have no doubt I will love this one! Great review btw - thank you! I enjoy having a little insight before spending 100 bucks on a book.
I think you will like it! And you’re welcome, thank you for watching! That’s what I’m here for - just to share my thoughts on these books and hopefully to help somebody along the way!
@@SuperFlyComicsGuy Will definitely come back to your place a lot! Over here in europe it's pretty tough to get your hands on english issues, so there's only online retailers, which means videos like yours are pure gold for those of us who think about buying some series but want to have a look at the books first.
I have this preordered for quite some time now. I have marvel knights and max vol.2 omnis and im counting days until i have all of them together!😆 And great review keep up the good work! That 1k is coming I can feel it!
Everyone loves this run for its 'maturity' but I generally find Garth Ennis' modus operandi to be cringy teenager-level edge, similar to Mark Millar. I can't take it seriously.
Yeah ngl I got that feeling a few times while reading this too, just because of how over-the-top it can be. But I found the stories themselves engaging enough to keep me going

Excited for you to complete your set! Thanks for the kind words Peter 🙂
Noticed you also reviewed Bendis Dardevil, which would you say is better of the two?
Fair warning - I’m totally biased here - but absolutely Bendis’ Daredevil. That’s my favourite Daredevil run!
@@SuperFlyComicsGuyjust ordered the reprint.
Keep up the great reviews thanks 👍🏻🙏
Happy to help, hope you enjoy it!
