Welcome back dude. Just don't sell your soul to the youtube algorithm. Your down to earth approach really sets you apart from all the tryhards. I've always appreciated your content for being real and not gimmicky or clickbaity like so many others on here. There are quite a few youtubers who actually stayed genuine and didn't have to fake it for 1 million subs.
Ditto. Honestly I could care less about being a 'TH-camr' and that sort of content has led me to unsubscribe from others who have gone down that rabbit hole. I'm here for your bike builds and I do love a good Will It Run vid. Welcome back.
To make a livable revenue you HAVE to sell your soul to the algorithm, there's no way around it. Except maybe a patreon account. But that's only a bad thing if the content suffers. It sounds to me like he have a plan that will work for him and the algorithm both.
Ummm or maybe create a sister channel with similar content that is super clickbaity and bows to the algorithm so that you don’t end up in the same situation as six months ago? I mean guys gotta make a crust right?
Welcome back 83 Honda Nighthawk 550 I will be using in helping re build my ride. It's great to the point. Overall love watching all the other rebuilds 😊 Thanks for being on TH-cam.
No shame in stepping away to look for more fulfilling (and lucrative) work. Glad to have you back. I'd really like more vintage Honda content as I'm still working on a vintage Honda myself, but would be interested in seeing the bike scene in Austin as well as any shows you go to or enter into (i.e. the Handbuilt show, Mama Tried, etc.)
I love this. For me, I love the way you methodically diagnose an issue, and then just start opening things up and figuring it all out. As a former mechanical engineer and current software engineer and amateur mechanic, I learn a ton and gain confidence from watching you go through that process. I'm way more into the bike stuff than car stuff. You might want to consider putting them in separate playlists and making them easy to distinguish visually with the thumbnail and naming conventions. As the channel grows, perhaps one day they will be separate channels. Good luck and welcome back.
To be honest, I joined the channel for the motorcycle content. I have enjoyed the café racers, but one thing I’d really love to see is for you to fully restore a classic Honda 500-550 to beautiful stock condition but upgrade all the unseen items. Like install a full M-Unit with all stock controls, add a lithium battery with bluetooth, electronic ignition, full LED lighting and so on. That would definitely draw my attention.
Welcome back! ❤ Love the bike content. Would be cool to see a ride along to find some of these barn or junk yard finds. I started my own project thanks to you and your videos. 79 Yamaha XS 650. Building it part by part but the confidence to do so came from your videos. Thanks man.
I love the Honda motorcycle content. I’m restoring a Cb 350f and a cb550k and your channel has been a lot of help and inspiration. It’s great that you will return to making videos.
Great to see you back! I love all of your content but if I had to pick I would have to say the 'Will It Run' series and the KZ750 are my favorites. The 'Will It Run' series because it helps others to be able to better diagnose why their own bike might not be running. And the KZ750 because it was something different. It wasn't just another Honda. I'd love to see you branch out with other brands and even just other bikes from Honda. Trying new things and making custom bikes that we haven't seen before. Something like an old Honda Cub could be cool; it's small, different, and you don't see many people doing custom builds of them.
The bike content is what I come for. Loved the Kawasaki build and the Triumph build the most, but I also enjoyed the old Honda builds. I hope you’ll continue to show us how you do things in detail, as well as carrying us through your full build process. Welcome back, no apologies necessary!
Taylor , there is no need to apologise for not doing loads of video's, take time , take a step back and see what YOU want to do ,and in which direction you want to go in , we will be behind you all the way 👍. Peace out ✌
Glad to see that you’re back. For me you’re the motorcycle version of Nate on Dirt Lifestyle for off-roading. Just real guys working on projects in their garage but do a great job explaining the how’s and why’s without making us feel dumb. Here’s to hoping you see the growth you are aiming for.
Glad you're giving it another go. I think maybe doing a little collaboration, Common Motor in Houston does some how-to videos for classic honda twins (and a few for 4's) . They seem to do videos as needed but I really enjoyed their sort of "featured rides". Some of those guys also did the vintage 1000. I definitely think diversifying the bikes would be good. You've got a niche but why not take a crack at an ironhead? There's a Dirtster meet up happening in PA and maybe doing an Ironhead scrambler style bike could be fun. You might also have some overlap with Brickhouse Builds, he seems to concentrate mostly on CX's, but he also was working on a cb750 and has a cbx he was working on. I think that if you're trying to focus on community I think giving a bit of an example of other bikes, maybe checking in on previous builds, maybe talking to other builders, creators, or just riders of vintage bikes. I know that Common Motor has a bikes and coffee thing. I think that Shadetree (a completely different kind of creator, I know) does well by connecting with other folks in the youtube bikesphere.
Hey man, your one of the better youtubers in the build content. You never milk it, or hide your mistakes. And your builds are always top. Glad your back.
Good to see you online again Taylor, I would be happy with what you were putting out before, a good mix of both car and bike. It's whatever YOU want it to be, I think most folks would be more than happy with that.
I think that making this is a business is a lot harder than people think. As hobby - TH-cam is enjoyable to me, as a business I think it would drive me nuts. You definitely have the subscriber base that I think could yield a decent living - but what do I know - I'm not trying to do this as a busniess. At any rate - it sounds like you have a good plan - I wish you the best. Looking forward to what comes next for Classic Octane ~Mike
The refurbishment of old parts is a real driver, the day in the life of a classic rebuild is great(not Honda specific), the laid back style of here is me in the shop and I have a quick tip is perfect for mid week content and socials, and lastly watching the growth makes me feel more invested like opening TH-cam and hitting like matters.
Glad too se you back ☺️ Hope you manage to i find a sustainable business model! Trying to deliver both quantity and quality can be stressful, I would focus on quality before quantity 😬 Some ideas: Try some kind of spectacular build/project. Use storytelling style to make the videos more exciting and entertaining. Try to reach out to a broader audience. Team up with other TH-camrs to stay motivated, brainstorm ideas, exchange experience and for collaboration. Good luck 👍
You have your own style and down to earth personality that your viewers appreciate, even though you are not the click-bait, showbiz type that dominate the TH-cam custom builder segment. I would like to see more riding segments, anecdotes and back story, maybe even showing your projects in events to add an extra dimension. Mustie1 proves that you don't need glitter and tinsel to build a big following. Authenticity goes a long way, even if it takes a long time to get there.
Glad to hear you’re going to be putting out content regularly! I’m never disappointed with a Honda project, but would love to see you’re creativity applied to a HD Sportster build
I actually love the classic Honda motorcycle videos. Watching you do engine rebuilds and customizing customer builds was one of many reasons I became a motorcycle technician myself!
I enjoyed the Honda wiring, wiring problem diagnosis, and m.unit installations. I'm not a motorcycle mechanic, but with your help I was able to rebuilt a 45 year old Honda.
I am so glad to hear and see that you’re coming back. You have been missed but understand why. I love that you go into detail on fixes and not waste time on things that you’ve covered on previous videos.
Was concerned about you man, glad to see you back, many people go thru those kind of episodes, I know I have, sounds like you’re going to be stronger for getting thru it! Luv the builds, more riding vids would be great.
So glad to see you back.Your early motogadget m unit content really helped me out whilst building my cafe racer. Really missed the channel . I agree with you to branch out with different classic manufacturers and we can all learn stuff together. Best wishes from the UK.🤘🏻
We all go through a down period with our builds! I can't imagine making a living from it. Youre doing something truly your own man and wish you the best with it!! Loved your scrambler KZ750, would like to see more scrambler builds, welding and fabricating for bike frames; stuff like that! Riding videos of course, show off how well your work holds up!
Any bike build or even working on yours cars are good content. Seeing you laying on the floor working on your car is really relevant for most people. Not everyone has a lift in their garage, or frankly the knowledge and skills you have. If said this before if you load the video , people will watch it.
Great to see you back! I personally enjoy the bike content, but do enjoy a bit of classic car as a change. I know putting together a video is very hard work on your part, so pace yourself, and enjoy what you do. That's the best content, when you truly enjoy what you're doing. Cheers from Ontario, Canada!
Welcome back. You were missed! I came here for the bike content but also enjoyed the car stuff. The will-it-run episodes before a new build are always fun the watch. More variety will always help a channel... cafe bikes, adventure bikes, and travel/camping. Again, great to see you back!
I admire your transparency. A break from something is often rejuvenating and needed! Glad you've set a course and feel confident moving forward in it. Blessings and respect!
I don't normally comment, but I love your videos! Your build series gives me hope that one day I can pick up an older 650 and build it up in a fun running cafe. I'd love to see complete restoration videos where you pick up a cheap barn find and breath new life into it. I don't care if you take it back to stock, or chop it up! Also, I love the idea of bringing a modern flair to an older bike. Kind of like your Camarro. I enjoy the classic looks with modern features. Keep up the great work. I appreciate you sharing your talents with us!
Great to have you back! I love the fabrication videos and also the fabrication failures. Michael Sabo is good about including his failure and lessons learned in his videos. We all learn from failures, just keep pushing the comfort level. As a fellow IT pro, and gearhead, I don't blame you for getting out of the industry. Diverse content is great. The channel is named Classic Octane, not Classic Honda CB's. So, branching out to the f-body or the C5Z, is perfectly acceptable to me.
I'm glad that you are back. You don't have to apologize 🙂 It's always nice to see some build content, but riding vlogs are also ok and if you've got acces to some interesting bikes or cars you can make a review.
I kinda like restoration video's, so old bikes or even not that old bikes that had a hard life and get restored to a fully functioning bike again. Good to see back again!
Hey Taylor, You Rock Buddy! Thanks for letting us know about your challenges. You're smart n very talented. You're going to make it Taylor. My son Josh n I started rebuilding old Hondas last year. I think we've watched every one . Your tips have saved hours of grief. Keep your vision clear my friend. It's all possible for you. Mike n Josh (MaJa motors)
Your m unit videos were invaluable to me. I just finished wiring up an m unit blue on my older honda, and probably watched those videos 50 times or more. Can’t thank you enough. 🙏🏻
Glad to see you back! Remember, its a business, make a business plan and get the core correct, then branch out. I love the classic Hondas. Smell what sells.
I'm not sure my soul could handle going back to the tech industry. That, and the world has changed. Including TH-cam. But glad to see that you're back, in depth moto builds are what brought me and got me to stay, but you could also consider car shows, bike shows, tool and vehicle auctions, trips, product tests and reviews
How you explain [and teach] is a great talent, you could add interviewing others who have done nice builds to the mix. Maybe at car and bike shows, or meets. You have the insight to ask engaging questions. Great to see you back, we all respect those who have the courage to step out an do their own gig, sometimes it takes, well a few 'takes'.
Welcome back! Would love to see some more How-To's on things like replacing steering bearings, wheel bearings, chain inspections and replacement, fork rebuilds.
Big ups from New Zealand, Taylor. No need to apologize. A break often sets us all in a new direction, then life gets better. Missing your content and now sounds even better ! Charge more for your projects, people want quality and a unique ride for life. Razor.
Welcome back Taylor! Everybody goes through a rough patch at some point so no shame in that! Regarding the channel as some of the comment mentioned, the down to Earth and methodical approach to your work is what makes you great, so keep doing that! Don’t try to do too many videos in a week once a week if the quality is good is more than enough! As for new ideas I would say to check out other channels like “Home built by Jeff”, “M539 restorations” or “RRC restorations” for some inspirations. Those are just examples, pick and choose whatever you like from wherever you want! If you truly like what you’re doing it’ll show on the videos and the likes will follow!
So glad you’re back! Your videos are very inspiring. Your business model is very unique and extremely difficult. Definitely easier said than done. I would appreciate seeing more about how you run the business. Like what do your costs and profits look like. Maybe that’s a little more private but just anything you can share about how you do things is interesting to me. Again, welcome back! I’ll be here for every video! Your channel is what lead me into wanting my first bike and now bikes are a huge part of who I am. Peace!
Great to see you back. Don't think you owe any of us viewers anything. I would love to see more classic bike content. Especially the diagnosing of issues. The car stuff is great but more bikes for me. Welcome back from the UK 🇬🇧.
Would love to see some more Triumph builds, and more videos on trouble shooting and upgrading electrical systems, but all your videos and builds are great and enjoyable to watch!
I just started watching your old videos a couple of weeks ago and am so glad you're back. You have a great talent for teaching us a lot about using certain tools and how to build these bikes. I'm working on getting my nearly mint 1993 BMW R100GS PD ready to sell. My favorite build has to be the 550 Honda cafe in 7 days build. You should be a teacher maybe!
I love restoration videos. I'll watch a video of a Russian guy silently restoring a Ural. The more trashed the bike is at the beginning, the better. I think my favorite series of yours was Barn to Brat.
Love Classic Octane. That won't change. Love first time start ups and rebuilds. I'm a bike guy; love seeing you working on a variety of brands and models.
No apology needed. Do what you need to do man. I think the process you've been through is really vital to make sure you're on the track you want to be on. Happy days. Like the ideas for content that you shared. Up for that.
Welcome back, glad you are ok. I was drawn in by the Honda's & stayed for your methods & explanations. More on the builds, does not have to be classic Honda.
My favorite videos center around honda bikes. Riding videos would be cool, seeing your favorite new gear would be cool. Fabricating stuff was cool. Anything classic Hondas!
I recently got a forever bike for me a 77 CB550 K3 and watched pretty much all your videos. I learnt loads which kept me coming back. I love I classic bike builds and seeing what you do. Glad your back and hope it takes off 👍🏻
Good to see you back. Im a Harley guy but I am now starting to appreciate the older metric machines. I really enjoyed the Kawasaki dual sport you made.
Good to see you again, you were absolutely right to have a brutally honest fresh look at the whole thing, and find the way forward. Myself I'm a sucker for old Hondas because I owned a few, but I'd happily watch you work on anything. As others have said the will it run videos are great, whether car or bikes, always fascinating. Maybe watching you road test a few vehicles etc. Personally I like long videos too, no danger of getting bored. You should feel free to say whatever you want too, you're the boss! Wishing you well whatever you decide on, good luck.
I hope your channel blows up! In a good way... I really enjoyed your videos in the past and wondered what happened to you. Keep doing what you're doing and thank you what you contribute to the biker community.
Heya mate, fan from Australia here, any bike / car build videos of yours are awesome. Wish I wasn’t on the other side of the world to you as would easily get you to build me a bike if I was in the US. Keep doing what you do. Thanks for all the content.
Welcome back Taylor. I am so glad that your back. Your videos has made me buy my own Honda CB500four from 1976, which I am trying to make a brat style cafe racer from it. I loved the 1 week build on that Honda. I know that was a tough job to do but it was very fun to watch, I watched them several times. Also the barn find videos I find very fun to watch, especially when you show us the technical part of disassembly en assembly of a motorcycle. Well that covers pretty much it! Keep it cool and greetings from the Netherlands
Love to see you getting back on youtube, we missed you! But I wouldn't change much about the channel in terms of content. I loved the educational video's the most, specially about the old honda's so I hope you don't stop showing the work on those.
Very excited you're jumping back in to the content world and will be posting. Have really missed your videos! Your channel was top on my list to watch any time you posted. Thanks!!
Hey, just stumbled onto your channel after getting a kz 750. I watched the scrambler build, and have been going down the rabbit hole with these classic bike videos. Awesome work 🍻
Great to see you’re back posting videos. Yours was always informative and entertaining one I subscribe to. Personally I like the vintage Honda builds and not so much the car side but that’s just me. Looking forward to seeing you in the future!
Welcome back dude. Just don't sell your soul to the youtube algorithm. Your down to earth approach really sets you apart from all the tryhards. Personally loved the triumph bobber. Changing a bike and making it so custom was an awesome series to watch along to and see the progress
Don't feel bad, you do not owe us anything.
I enjoy simple, budget type, builds.
Nice to see you back buddy! - Dont apologize, take care of yourself. Do barn finds, and also maybe some "camping" MC trips. Would love to see that

really happy with this news, will you be at MotoGP in April? I'd love to see you there
Life is not easy and has many chapters. Keep strong, and as a community, we are here! I think a Harley Davidson Sportster build would be cool.
Welcome back. You were missed! I came here for the bike content but also enjoyed the car stuff. The will-it-run episodes before a new build are always fun the watch. More variety will always help a channel... cafe bikes, adventure bikes, and travel/camping. Again, great to see you back!

Honda diagnostic repairs are my favorite content of yours!
Hope things work out for you buddy. I always enjoy your videos, looking forward to more builds and such
Glad you are still here. Thanks for the update. I have sent quite a few people to your channel.
Good to have you back. The motorbike fabrication has always been a great part of your channel, Would love to see more of that.
Pleased to see you back, missed Classic Octane over the last 6 months! 😊
Don’t worry about it. We are just happy you are back. Love from Denmark
Love seeing fellow young guys working on classics. I have a CL350 and 2 CB350s
Great to have ya back!! Can't go wrong with Honda stuff, but I like everything else as well. Thanks for always making informative and honest content!
All your videos helped me out big time with my CB550K.
I have liked pretty much all of your content but the restoration of old inline fours are my favorite for sure. Just love that sound.
I really like when you motovlog a build you just finished, it's cool to see and hear the bike run under load
No apology needed. Do what you need to do man. I think the process you've been through is really vital to make sure you're on the track you want to be on. Happy days. Like the ideas for content that you shared. Up for that.
Glad to see new content. Thanks again for rebuilding my CB350F carbs.
It would be great to see some Barn Finds and restore them back to their beauty. That’s my thing and would be great content in my mind.
Glad to see you back definitely understand what you have to do for money but so glad to see
You back and you were not gone due to illness or
Injury….
Yes! Nice! You’re an expert and that’s why I come here. To learn.
Awesome, welcome back! makes me want to make a new video
Happy to see you back, your triumph build is one of my favorites on TH-cam. Still hunting for the right triumph to build my own
Heya mate, fan from Australia here, any bike / car build videos of yours are awesome. Wish I wasn’t on the other side of the world to you as would easily get you to build me a bike if I was in the US. Keep doing what you do. Thanks for all the content.
Really pleased you're back in the swing. Really looking forward to seeing more of the BMW build.
Welcome back! I did miss your content and I really liked the workshop stuff and it helped me with my own projects. Thanks for coming back to us
Love to see you getting back on youtube, we missed you! But I wouldn't change much about the channel in terms of content. I loved the educational video's the most, specially about the old honda's so I hope you don't stop showing the work on those.
Great to have you back, Taylor! My favorite stuff is the bike content. If time permits, I will try to watch as much of it as I can going forward.
Sometimes we all need a reset. Welcome back and looking forward to what’s to come ahead!
Good to see you back in the saddle as it were. Missed your videos.
