That was amazing! In 1985 I bought a Scott Joplin Maple Leaf Rag 12 inch vinyl. I still own it! What a great song
Great you're keeping the fantastic banjo playing of over a century ago alive. Would love to hear old folks at home the way vess ossman played it.

Hey man love your style , do you have any tips for a beginner banjo player to playing the ragtime style ???
He is playing what’s called “classic” banjo style. Not necessarily classical music, it refers to the fingering style popular from around 1885-1920. Google videos by using the term “classic banjo” or the recording artist Fred Van Eps.
Thanks, and sure -- I have a playlist for beginning classic banjo: th-cam.com/play/PLHNRyddU-ceqlJ0ecjqYrpaF73QjsDkCK.html I am also available for one on one lessons (online or in person), email me for more info -- aaronjonahlewis [at] gmail.com

cool, I like it ... oh my cat to
Interesting, as the syncopation in piano was, I understand, borrowed from the banjo, for which syncopation comes out natural.
I thought ragtime was played on four sting banjo?
