ive learned that bees really dont like the super clean water you and i would drink. they tend to like muddy water from puddles. ive got an old plastic shelf i stuck on my back porch and put a bunch of leaves and branches in it to get it kind of nasty, but also to help keep them from drowning in too. does have to be actually cleaned out once in a while, or mosquitoes will start laying in it.

I have 2 bird baths here in FL and add water every day. Your pond looks safe for the bee's, if the pond water seems stagnant consider adding a solar fountain to raise oxygen levels.

I use a 1 gallon cat fountain waterer. I fill it up once a week unless it rains-then it fills itself.

I use a 5gal chicken waterer with stones, and a cow tank with a old trampoline draped over.

I found the cure for dragons.....bought a gallon of "catchmaster" brand sticky trap goop, put on a stick and stick around pond, haven't caught a single bee because they land on ground but dragonflies land on sticks. Caught dozens right before I had queen expected for mating flight. And the birds appreciate the caught dragons and come pic them off. Another answered prayer.God bless yall for making vids

For me this has been a odd year with putting out waters for bees . For years an years I have always put out places where Bees can get water an they have always used them it looked like there was hundreds in the water all the time BUT for what ever reason the bees have not been on them at all this year 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️. There is nothing different about them so I do not know why. Thanks

since when are dragonflies considered "evil"? That is messed up. They eat mosquitos and other troublesome bugs as well. Dragonflies are sign that your environment is clear and in balance. We are happy if we get to see them. Plus they probably feed other animals as well.

I'd guess dragonflies, like hornets and wasps are a net negative to biodiversity. Doesn't make them "evil" but it does make them a pest.

Personally, I wouldn’t consider a pond as a water source for my bees because in the pond bees can be eaten by frogs and dragonflies. I put a container with water closer to the hives.
