    An absolute banger from the Un-PC 1970s. Pete Walker did a few proto-slashers and they all have surprisingly good production values.

    I agree with you about the bleakness of the mid-seventies UK as depicted on film, and few convey that more effectively than Pete Walker. The grainy film quality, period clothes and attitudes and horrendous wallpaper - it's all here! Lynne Frederick has always been underrated as an actress. She's great here throughout - she even carries the wonderfully nonsensical twist-ending. That and some serious gore make this one of my favourites from this set. Great review!
