This brings back so many memories! My family lived in California, near San Diego, from late 2003 to late 2005, and we would often visit the zoo or the Wild Animal Park.
It hurts me to see people against the treatment of animals at the sd zoo. These people are extremely knowable on these animals and know their behaviors. If any animal in a show displays signs of being uncomfortable they would shut it down right away.
Unfortunately the same cannot be said for every zoo. Cheetahs are very needy and require a lot of attention, something zoos often can't provide. Having dog companions is the perfect substitute, though which is great. I really hope they can solve the Cheetah breeding problem. They are really a precious and affectionate animal.
Unfortunately they STILL play this. It was cool back when it was cool but the Zoo hasn't gotten up to date on the times at least with music. Still the rest of the zoo is pretty nice :D
Yup. Dogs always take the dominant role of the pair believe it or not. Cheetah are a lot like dogs but shy. Dogs are always mellow and confidant hence why they make perfect friends. The Cheetah always looks to the dog for confidence and receives it. That's incredibly important because Cheetah will not breed if they're too stressed. But we have figured out how to overcome that thankfully.
Cheetahs have one of the most powerful jaws in the feline world pound for pound, they routinely drag prey up into trees in order to keep hem from lions, heyenas and painted dogs
I know leopards do that but cheetahs do also. When I first heard it I had the same reaction you did, but then I did some research (aka youtube search) and they actually do. Its pretty amazing.
@@nsrivatsa5167 Cheetahs jaws are stronger than the dog next to her but I don't think Cheetahs drag their prey up trees, either. They aren't strong enough even if their jaws are.
1: the strongest feline jaws goes to jaguars, which are native to the americas 2: cheetahs can't climb, at least not very well 3: leopards routinely drag their prey up into trees to keep away from hyenas, lions and painted dogs
I like the fact that 90% of the comments here are like "zoos are bad! Free the animals!" From animal activists who think they know better If you free those animals, all those animals gonna have to be put down because of too much human exposure, on top of the fact that some zoos have breeding programs to help endangered species get their numbers up
That cheetah was rescued by San Diego Park because he was rejected by his mother in the wild. Of course, if you wanted nature to take its course, then he would have obviously died out there. Human intervention in this case helped save his life.
@@reyperez5362 They're so critically endangered we're really wondering if anything we can do will save them. Their numbers just keep plummeting. The farmers continuing to spread out aren't very bright. They are not in the least concerned about making investments that will create better farms, they just keep acquiring more land to substitute poor farming methods.
Shut up moron! The San Diego Zoo has saved countless species from extinction! Think about it, poachers murder wildlife but in zoos, wildlife is safe from them! SeaWorld also saves marine life! I have a membership to both parks!
you're an idiot Galactusgirl how does Sea World saves wild animals in captivity? it's like saying correctional facility saves humans in captivity... those animals were born to be free.. why don't they lock your stupid ass up in captivity and let me see how you and your families would feel?... yeah feed me Prozac instead of regular meals... :)
idontsignin unless countries in Africa and elsewhere introduces strict rules and regulations for poachers and hunters then yes we will see them goes into extinctions, fortunately, most ccountries todaynow have rules and regulations
Once again, you are proving how brainless you are! There are strict laws about poaching but poachers are still murdering these creatures! If the SD Zoo is so bad, then why are there more California condors? And why was a new orangutan and giraffe born there? Plus, there aren't any concrete cages but exhibits representing their habitats. If you love nonhuman creatures, then don't support PETA!
Lmao some people don't know that this zoo helps endangered species and prevents the extinction of them
Literally the only reason white tigers even still exist.

The fact is that sometimes suddenly, they shut it down when it s too late and tragedy struck. We all know that

what are you smoking? These animals are note being mistreated
Bro this is actually surprising a dog and a cheetah in a same enclosure at San Diego zoo
Just another reason I love dogs!!
Unfortunately they STILL play this. It was cool back when it was cool but the Zoo hasn't gotten up to date on the times at least with music.

A 50lb dog really be stealing from a 75-80lb cheetah

@@danielepstein6233 They do not, they have extremely weak jaws. That cheetahs jaws are statistically as strong as the dogs next to her.

4:58 Oh my god that dog is smiling :D
Am I the only one who keeps looking at the song and not at the cheeta lol
I saw them yesterday
Sven Olaf!
I thought that was duke
it's like she already died(the cheetah)
Those 60 cheetahs in Iran are dead by now
There are about a dozen left as of Jan 2022. So not yet but they will be.
I’m just here to see the animal activists complain like in all the other videos. lol
It's horribel thats the relation of these animals is use for human atraction

Cheetah eats too much
Recycling will NOT "help save the cheetah. ARRRRRRRGH!
It's a torture to tie up the cheetahs and humilate them in front of people. People are horrible
Animal abused !!!!! They suffered a lot to learn this!!! Poor animals!!!
Again, you don't know this
Two beautiful animals but animals should not be kept in a Zoo - even one as good as San Diego Zoo.
You're such an idiot! The SD Zoo has worked very hard to save endangered wildlife and PETA loving vermin like you just don't see that!
Galactusgirl
If it wasn't for zoos, far more animals would be extinct.
he should be free and not in the San Diego zoo.
Animal abused!!!!
You don't know for sure
I don't like Zoo, Zoos are animal prisoners, we all need to boycott Zoo and Sea World
