A Taste of Tri-Rail's New Livery and the Downtown Miami Link Train

Tri-Rail, the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority's commuter service, began scheduled service to the Brightline MiamiCentral station in Downtown Miami with a shuttle train from Metrorail Transfer Station. Guaranteed to have a fully rewrapped commuter train set, I took a detour after some morning errands to get a couple photos and clips of it pulling in and embarking south to the FEC tracks.
The new service begins exactly six years after Brightline brought passenger rail to the FEC for the first time since 1968. In its own fashion, Tri-Rail makes a first time commuter rail connection between the South Florida Rail Corridor and the FEC line.
Thru Jan 19, trains are departing every two hours on weekends and every other hour or so on weekdays. They for now have a captive set with BL36PH 820, Hyundai-Rotem coach 1101, and Hyundai-Rotem Cab Car 520.
Due to inclement weather and personal business, I cut the outing short after the 11:10 southbound, which was the P669X train. But, I will be back especially on the FEC side to document this service on new territory. Perhaps will film a ride on it too, once a quick out-and-back ride is figured out.
I also managed to see CSX train L789 pull south with what appears to be a stamped on "Spirit of Birmingham" locomotive, CSXT 439, pulling.
Great running into "The Railroad Crossing Channel" at North Iris and Carlos P. at the station; Carlos rode this round trip to MiamiCentral before going on duty with Brightline later in the afternoon.
