- The AFF Suzuki Cup 2020 will take place in Singapore.
The biennial tournament, now in its 13th edition, will be held at the National Stadium and Bishan Stadium from Dec 5, 2021 to Jan 1, 2022.
Host country and four-time winners Singapore will kick off the 10-team tournament against Myanmar at the National Stadium on Dec 5. Singapore has previously hosted the event in 1996, 2002, 2007 and 2014.
Each team will play four fixtures in a round robin format the group level. Singapore will go up against Myanmar, the Philippines (Dec 8), Timor-Leste (Dec 14) and five-time champs Thailand (Dec 18) in Group A. Elsewhere, reigning 2018 cup holder will face Vietnam Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia and Laos in Group B.
The top two teams from each group will qualify for the two-legged semi-finals, before battling it out in the two-legged finals, slated for Dec 29 and Jan 1.
The Suzuki Cup was originally set to be held last year but was delayed to this April before it got pushed back to December due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
