LIVING HISTORY: Retired army officer recalls challenges in the forces

Retired Lt Jones Echeru Oluma was one of the first Ugandan soldiers to be trained in Russia. He reportedly attempted to overthrow former President Milton Obote, in a bid to make his dream of making Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania as one country. He eventually retired from the Army early, but still suffered under Obote government in the 1980s. He speaks to AGNESS NANDUTU about his suffering in Living History.
