She was on probation for another matter and violated that probation. That's what she was being held for and needs to finish that term. Also, she was also found guilty of tampering with evidence so there will be a sentence for that
After watching this trial she always was depressed and very hurt mentally. This time it’s such a relief that she had a beautiful radiant smile, I hope she can finally move on with her life. I literally cried because I felt her pain, I’m glad that the truth is finally out
The judge should've released her! Seems like she just didn't like her and wanted to make her spend as much time in jail as possible. She was acquitted of murder and even the max sentence for tampering with evidence isn't more than the time served already. It's literally unlawful to keep her in there, as her attorney stated at 9:46

As a survivor of domestic violence, when she testified, all of her testimony rang true. I’ve been pinned backwards over a desk, underneath my husband, who choked me while pressing one of his knees into my abdomen. I had two babies at the time, who were the only two reasons why I didn’t fight back. I knew if I did, I would also be arrested and my two boys would be put into state care. This woman defended herself during a violent attack. Period.

I just learned about this case, and I really pray she is able to heal from this. I went through DV with my ex husband and it was for a lot less time. I can’t imagine what this has been like for her

While you have not had privy to see all the evidence as the jury has, then you have obviously missed something. Juries are given a tremendous burden to confine perhaps even have to occasionally find someone who deserves the death penalty. Something I know I would not want to do. Considering the investigation was complete and the circumstances of this man's death and location of his body and other pertinent facts were all shown during the trial I trust the jury found her not guilty for a reason. Perhaps you missed something during the trial assuming you watched the entire day after day drama this trial would require you to come to your conclusion. Did you?

This is a classic case that proves to me, accused people should not be in jail awaiting their trials. Aren’t they supposed to be innocent until proven guilty! Three and a half years locked up and she was innocent! Home arrest, yes but not jail. Maybe in extreme cases of chance of flight risk etc. or a mass murderer, but not for many cases such as this.
Accused murders should be in jail cause you don’t know the intention or reality of someone’s mindset. They could been truly guilty or worse, someone on a mission to kill again. There’s many stories about serial killers who flew under the radar for this stuff and went on a spree. You just never know

This is a case that had tragic consequences for all parties. Domestic violence is a terrible thing. I am so happy to see Ms Redlick acquitted by the jury. It was the correct decision given all the evidence. I hope that everyone can now find peace from all this pain.
The judge was wrong. She just wanted to flex her power. That woman has stayed in jail for 3 years. When she gets sentence it would be illegal for this judge to give her any more than time served with maybe probation. Yes I felt the judge was very bias or just didn't like the defense attorneys much. There is definitely something that is causing the judge to act in this way. Judges have a duty to be unbiased and not pick sides.
I just have to say, as a survivor of DV, that her testimony was absolutely the testimony of a victim of DV. Just to show the difference-Amber Heard? No! No TRUE victim of DV is EVER that animated and dramatic. Just having to relive the event puts you in a sort of “numb” state, having to recall, in detail, what had happened. I cried when I saw this today, for her justice AND that it was SHOWN what a REAL DV court case is actually like. As well as the fact that people are FINALLY taking victims seriously and LISTENING and being just!! Praise the Gods!!!!

My friend's son also stabbed someone out of self defence. He didn't die but the case was thrown out of court. When you feel threatened you WILL defend yourself.

I get the frustration but at the same time the jury did find her guilty on some of the lesser charges. Her "winnings" are getting out and being free soon, and I'm sure she'll be more than fine with just that.
But she was found guilty of tampering with evidence so is not it common to hold a person until sentencing? The judge said she can get out on bail which is $1,500 (it’s 10% deposit of $15,000 is all she needs to pay). So although she will be back to court for sentencing at some point, she is now free to go home.

Judge has seemed biased the whole case. She allowed the prosecutor to basically scream at her. I really liked this judge in the beginning days of the trial but her bias became obvious. There is zero reason to not let her go home.

Isn't this the woman who did not call 911 for eleven hours after her husband bled to death and was on a dating app during that time, who said to the 911 operator that her husband had a heart attack then that he had stabbed himself the day before and whose husband had, while he was still alive, called 911 himself and said help was needed because his wife was a danger to herself and others and the 911 dispatcher did not send anyone and by the next call he was dead.

I read from comments that her daughter said she was the aggressor in their relationship/marriage. She also cleaned the crime scene, so that’s tampering the evidence. I didn’t follow this case, but maybe, just maybe the judge has little doubts in her.

I am not sure why they are keeping her in there when she should be granted time served. She will be released soon just not today. For some reason the judge wants to hold her until August.
She had a bond set of 15,000.Her Dad paid the 10% 1,500.00 and she's home tonight . She should not have to spend another day in jail because come August the sentencing of the 2nd charged will be time already served.

Because it wasn't self-defense. The problem is the 2nd degree murder charge, which means the prosecution needed to show intent to kill... And that was obviously not the case. Involuntary manslaughter, on the other hand, would have been an absolutely appropriate charge and I am quite sure, she would have been convicted of it. I think the prosecutor wanted to bolster his career with a murder conviction and in the end failed the justice system for this immoral reason.

Very clear self defense. He died when she was in the bathroom. He could have called for help instead of raging outside the door.
@@peterquennellnyc 1. Self-defense has to be proven by the person claiming it. What she said makes absolutely no sense and therefore is definitely not how the fight went down. You cannot open a drawer and get a knife when someone twice your weight pushes you into the kitchen isle where the drawer is situated. She would have had to reach around him and that is not possible. The only drawer you could open are the ones above the head and this is not where she claims the knife came from. Also to stab someone so deep that it goes through the shoulder into the lung, you need quite a lot of force. Certainly not possible when you are bent backwards and pushed into the kitchen isle, as she claims. Plus, he would have had to see her reaching for a knife and not tried to fight for it. He could have easily prevented her from opening the knife drawer if the situation was as she claims. It is much more likely that she drew the knife before he attacked her. With so many inconsistencies in her story, she certainly did not prove that she acted in self-defense by the necessary legal standards. You just take her statements as the truth, although she has the burden of proof. By your standard, every murder without witnesses would be a self-defense case. 2. Even if it was self-defense. If you attack me and I shoot you in the stomach, it is unlawful to wait until you die and call 911 afterwards. So, even with self-defense it would have probably been involuntary manslaughter. 3. What he could have done or not is irrelevant. Your obligation to help does not stop, just because someone else could have called 911. She had 2 hours to call 911 and save his life. She decided to not do it, he died --> Involuntary manslaughter right there.

I think this case proved to be about 2 people who were through with the marriage and could not leave because fear what they would lose in divorce. They decided to stay together, drink, talk rudely to each other while shoving and pushing each other. The children lived in a hot mess home. Only a matter of time before a tragedy happened and it could have been either one died. I hope everyone finds peace. Jury was once again right. Moral to the story....possessions and $$$$$$ are not worth your freedom and peace.

I didn’t watch the trial but I caught some of her testimony and thought she sounded very sincere , her answers were delivered in a way that didn’t seem like she was searching for reasoning. She seemed confident in what she was saying. Even in that five minute snippet , I knew she wasn’t a murderer.

She got the upper hand for a split second in over 16 years, and that blade landed just right when she defended herself. The truth is that, if he wasn't worried about having to explain how he got stabbed, he would have called for help. But he did not do that. I'm so happy for her.. I was thinking that she's guilty but after listening to her testimony I knew that she's innocent and it was self-defense, she was honest about everything during her testimony, she took accountability for the mistakes she's done.
I know what you're implying, but I find her credible, she admitted that she killed him..but it wasn't intentional.. cross-examination was horrible and the prosecutor failed to find anything suggesting that she killed him on purpose, therefore, there is no reason to believe It is a premeditated murder.

My understanding is the reason the judge decided to remand her back to jail was her lawyer declined the option of her being sentenced immediately. So, instead of immediate release, she granted her a very manageable bond ($15,000, with only 10% upfront), which she was able to meet later that day. This is the courts way of ensuring a defendant has good reason to show up for their court date, as failure to show can result in the full bond being enforced.

This woman defended herself during a violent attack. Period.

This is a classic case that proves to me, accused people should not be in jail awaiting their trials. Aren’t they supposed to be innocent until proven guilty! Three and a half years locked up and she was innocent! Home arrest, yes but not jail. Maybe in extreme cases of chance of flight risk etc. or a mass murderer, but not for many cases such as this.

I just have to say, as a survivor of DV, that her testimony was absolutely the testimony of a victim of DV. Just to show the difference-Amber Heard? No! No TRUE victim of DV is EVER that animated and dramatic. Just having to relive the event puts you in a sort of “numb” state, having to recall, in detail, what had happened. I cried when I saw this today, for her justice AND that it was SHOWN what a REAL DV court case is actually like. As well as the fact that people are FINALLY taking victims seriously and LISTENING and being just!! Praise the Gods!!!!

My friend's son also stabbed someone out of self defence. He didn't die but the case was thrown out of court. When you feel threatened you WILL defend yourself.

I get the frustration but at the same time the jury did find her guilty on some of the lesser charges. Her "winnings" are getting out and being free soon, and I'm sure she'll be more than fine with just that.
But she was found guilty of tampering with evidence so is not it common to hold a person until sentencing? The judge said she can get out on bail which is $1,500 (it’s 10% deposit of $15,000 is all she needs to pay). So although she will be back to court for sentencing at some point, she is now free to go home.

Judge has seemed biased the whole case. She allowed the prosecutor to basically scream at her. I really liked this judge in the beginning days of the trial but her bias became obvious. There is zero reason to not let her go home.

Because it wasn't self-defense. The problem is the 2nd degree murder charge, which means the prosecution needed to show intent to kill... And that was obviously not the case. Involuntary manslaughter, on the other hand, would have been an absolutely appropriate charge and I am quite sure, she would have been convicted of it.
I think the prosecutor wanted to bolster his career with a murder conviction and in the end failed the justice system for this immoral reason.

@@peterquennellnyc 1. Self-defense has to be proven by the person claiming it. What she said makes absolutely no sense and therefore is definitely not how the fight went down. You cannot open a drawer and get a knife when someone twice your weight pushes you into the kitchen isle where the drawer is situated. She would have had to reach around him and that is not possible. The only drawer you could open are the ones above the head and this is not where she claims the knife came from. Also to stab someone so deep that it goes through the shoulder into the lung, you need quite a lot of force. Certainly not possible when you are bent backwards and pushed into the kitchen isle, as she claims. Plus, he would have had to see her reaching for a knife and not tried to fight for it. He could have easily prevented her from opening the knife drawer if the situation was as she claims. It is much more likely that she drew the knife before he attacked her.
With so many inconsistencies in her story, she certainly did not prove that she acted in self-defense by the necessary legal standards.
You just take her statements as the truth, although she has the burden of proof. By your standard, every murder without witnesses would be a self-defense case.
2. Even if it was self-defense. It only protects you as long as there is a threat. When the threat is gone you have to call 911 for help. If you attack me and I shoot you in the stomach, it is unlawful to wait until you die and call 911 afterwards. So, even with self-defense it would have probably been involuntary manslaughter.
3. What he could have done or not is irrelevant. Your obligation to help does not stop, just because someone else could have called 911. She had 2 hours to call 911 and save his life. She decided to not do it, he died --> Involuntary manslaughter right there.

I think this case proved to be about 2 people who were through with the marriage and could not leave because fear what they would lose in divorce. They decided to stay together, drink, talk rudely to each other while shoving and pushing each other. The children lived in a hot mess home. Only a matter of time before a tragedy happened and it could have been either one died. I hope everyone finds peace. Jury was once again right. Moral to the story....possessions and
$$$$$$ are not worth your freedom and peace.

I’d be soooooo mad, if I had to go back to jail after being acquitted of murder. Like how many years would she get for tampering with evidence?!? That’s insane.
Time served will cover it. She will pay bond and go home today. ❤️

I didn’t watch the trial but I caught some of her testimony and thought she sounded very sincere , her answers were delivered in a way that didn’t seem like she was searching for reasoning. She seemed confident in what she was saying. Even in that five minute snippet , I knew she wasn’t a murderer.

Totally different,than AH. I saw her for about a half hour testimony today,and knew instantly that she isn't lying. I feel sad she still has to be in jail. I believe her.
I’m glad she didn’t take that terrible plea deal. Judge should have let her walk free she has served more than enough time required for that guilty charge on tampering.

When I heard her testimony I found it very believable and I felt sorry for her. Of course no one has the right to take someone's life, but in this case the attempt to save her own resulted in the killing of her agressor. I pray for his soul and I hope she finds peace.
She got the upper hand for a split second in over 16 years, and that blade landed just right when she defended herself. The truth is that, if he wasn't worried about having to explain how he got stabbed, he would have called for help. But he did not do that. He let himself die rather than answer for why and how she stabbed him.

Her reaction to the verdict for me, confirmed her innocence. I cried; clear she was praying before it was read, and then her looking up as if to thank God.
I agree! I was holding my breath waiting for the verdict. I’ve never been so happy for someone I don’t know.
Why? A guilty person would be just as relieved about not having to live in a cage until they die.
One stab wound isn't enough to put someone away forever. That's what really did it for me. No evidence of overkill, just evidence of someone wanting to get out of a situation.

@@jamesquattrone the immediate situation. According to the testimony he had her head pushed against the dishwasher and had a hand on her throat so she couldn't breathe. She reached up blindly to a drawer and found a knife and stabbed him once in the shoulder and ran away and locked herself in a closet until it was quiet a while. She wasn't stabbing to kill, just trying to get out from under him. And if there were more stab wounds, maybe I'd question it. But with only one, I believe her
It sounds very calculated to me. Egging his car, prefect one stab, on dating sites half a day with his corpse. She was gonna lose everything, instead gained everything.

I really feel for her, this is a nightmare. You could see at times how it took everything in her during the trial not to fall apart. Wishing her and her family love and healing

@@Manu_Lemoine_FR 1) Because they accepted lawful self-defence, probably. As it is, the issue was purely about intent. 2) Because of shock, trying to make sense of it, what might be thought and what to do, perhaps. Panicked and deleted potential evidence.
Some eventual feelings of self-preservation after the event, in that respect, are understandable. They do not necessarily indicate culpability.

He seems like a proper DA, he isn’t trying to be sued for Illegal incarceration… and have to pay her back for any over sentencing… I don’t know the case but watching the end it seems as though the DA isn’t being overly harsh with her. And everyone seems to be responding so very professional in this Court. Going by the book as it should be. 👏👏
now he’s magnanimous while trying case he’s was probably the reason she was found not guilty of murder.
Maybe cause he knew that she was the aggressor and attacked 3 people a year before and out on probation but that imfomation wasn't alowed into court...

I'm so happy for her.. I was thinking that she's guilty but after listening to her testimony I knew that she's innocent and it was self-defense, she was honest about everything during her testimony, she took accountability for the mistakes she's done.

well be safe then you dont know whos gonna kill you in self defence and you wont be there for to prove that you are innocent
absolutely not. she killed him. self-defense absolutely does not hold up because it altered the whole crime scene
I know what you're implying, but I find her credible, she admitted that she killed him..but it wasn't intentional.. cross-examination was horrible and the prosecutor failed to find anything suggesting that she killed him on purpose, therefore, there is no reason to believe It is a premeditated murder.
@@elephantintheroom5678 They also sated that OJ didnt do it and cant be retried, then a few years go by and he basicly admits it. He wrote a book about how he did it.
