I watched the drama without reading the novel or the manhua. I didn’t even watched the donghua. But I was on a chinese drama rampage and finished everything I can find interesting. When I first watched The Untamed, my first ship was definitely these two. The way LXC touched MY’s hands when he gave the present and to their obvious heart eyes, I was immediately dragged into the depths of this wrecked ship. But goddamn. I never imagimed myself getting hurt this way. Every ship in this drama, (aside from WangXian ofc) is lacking their other half. I’m just freakin sad.
This is so beautiful and so heart-breaking at the same time, just like the journey they two have been together. Nearly 20 years, side by side, as though the lifetime promise will be kept. But in the end, Er Ge is still the brightest, warmest moon too far away, whom A Yao cannot, and is not brave enough to reach to.
What hurts me more is that Lan XiChen was ready to die with MengYao, but MengYao changed his mind in the last second. It was never stated why, but I just know it's love :
i dont think mengyao will let xichen die with him in the first place.. i think hes just testing him and when he finally confirmed it he pushed him away

I always saw these two as the mirror image of Wei Ying and Lan Zhan. Where Wei Ying was able to keep himself from completely giving in to his demons, Meng Yao just couldn't stop himself and in the end LXC had to go through what Lan Zhan would have had to if things had worked out differently. The poor elder brother LXC had to go through what Lan Zhan didn't.
Now, I hate Nie Huishang for being the wicked person who make LXC stab Meng Yao with his own hand. Meng Yao has bring alot of suffering to WWX and his family, also Nie HuiShang has all the right in the world to kill this man in the worst way possible for what he did to his brother, but still watching this makes me sad fot Meng Yao and LXC
but nie huishang got his brother taken away from him. at the very start, it was obvious how he wanted such a simple life. he was suddenly forced to rule when all he wanted to do was appreciate the beauty in life. in the end, no matter how hard he tried, he still got blood in his hands. it was unfair too...

I wonder if he didnt do that to mengyao. Will mengyao pay what he did. Without being dead. Not all villain need to be killed in drama. He was worst but the death is not a answer. I hated him bc he was too cruel and even hurt the innocent people. And even worse than Xue Yang tbh. But I also felt bad for him,just like i did for Xue Yang. They both suffered in life in different ways
I tell you as a person who met people who live or lived the same or similar things as A-Yao, life makes them that way; to prevent the world from breaking them again and returning it to the beginning of what it was. The only thing they follow is the end justifies the means, and through it they do not care what happened to others unless they are their loved ones (friends, lovers, family, etc.) such as the way that A- Yao did not allow anyone to harm XIchen. If you see him in the novel or even in the other versions, he never did anything to XIchen, he never put Gusu Lan in his plans, he never specifically hurt something that referred to Xichen or his environment specifically and if he did. We see in Da-ge, in the end Da-ge was not even half of what Xichen was for A-Yao and his illusion with his wife and son were not either because it was they were the only mistake he made because he did not know it was his sister and his son was going to be an obstacle to everything he did with his own hands. I don't justify A-Yao, but I understand him in all his facets and he shouldn't have been judged that way.

I am devastated....... The lyrics of this song.. The scenes. XiYao was just unfortunate in this lifetime. Nothing was wrong with them. A-Yao sincerely loves Lan XiChen as much as XiChen loves him. What they had was real.

No other drama made me cry as much as this one did with just second ep the second time I watched it. You can’t even dislike the antagonist properly.
I despise Jin guangyao , but I understand why he turned out the way he did , filled with so much resentment and treachery in him. the world has hardly ever been kind to him , so he decided to return all the hatred it bestowed upon him with due interest. but in the end , he was left with nothing but bitterness and destruction. what a shame. this novel doesn't even allow me to hate the bad guy in peace
