    Hi Steve,
4 weeks ago a storm ripped off my felt flat roof.
Insurance finally picked up the claim after 3 weeks of dragging ass.
Now these builders have stripped and replaced the 60m2 roof in one day with a rubber roof.
However it looks poorly installed. The rubber is barely glued, the pitch of the roof is off, meaning the gutters are essentially redundant and we have a pool now.
I spoke with insurance, the contractors and builders with my concerns and asked for a surveyor. They sent out the contractors project manager who said it was ok.
I said again, it doesn't feel stuck down properly, no vapour barrier, no tongue and groove, and pooling water longer than 80+ hours.
    What would you suggest?

Had they had an issue within the house to initiate the first phone call to yourself?

NO, what had happened they became aware the roof had not been laid correctly because of bad detailing and they decided to find out how bad it was so I did a roof survey and a report on the condition however without doing an intrusive roof investigation we could not establish if the buildup of the roof was wrong so that's when we cut into the roof to find out

Is it ok to do a hybrid type flat roof built using joists with the insulation in between the joists pushed up tight to the underside of the OSB board without ventilation . I’ve seen this done but I’m convinced that this would cause the roof to sweat ?
However seeing you remove the ply sat straight on the insulation I’m not to sure .

If you look at the construction of a SIPS Panel structurally insulated panel you will see that it's basically what you have explained above and that is deemed to work. However, we are not allowed to construct like. Probably because in the structurally insulated panel there is no thermal bridging as there are no joists. Of course, we have joists and thermal bridging that it won't work.

What is the liquid system you're using to make the patch repairs? Also, in the description the auto spellcheck must have changed the word "repercussions" to "reproductions" in the last sentence.

@@SteveRoofer looks like a chop-strand reinforced polyurethane system, eg Ultraflex or Permaroof 500. Use these systems often as they perform well for the cost.
