Awesome video guys, as we are packing our 40ft container and planning our trip up North. It's taken a while but it's all seeming real. So good seeing this video hope to see you guys at sea 😊 Jacinta, Drew and the boys
Hey Mark and Kate I am really encouraged by your videos Particularly on the technical side of things like navigation. You’re doing what I’m planning to do myself and one of the reasons for this is because it falls under sustainability and a energy descent meaning when you’re sailing you are burning less fossil fuels, gas and energy in general do you think this is the case in Sailing ? Thanks a lot regards Paul :)
@CoolDaddyWho well, as is the case generally with sailing, we would say yes and no. When the wind and sea state are good, then happy days, there is nothing like the quiet swish of the boat surging through the water under sail. However, there are very many times when conditions are not ideal, and we are motor sailing. But we find that there are always factors to consider that lead us towards the conclusion that if we can't make at least 5 knots under sail then we light the iron Genoa to assist. Others may differ, and are OK with bobbing along very slowly, but we are not keen to stay out there waiting for the next storm to come and bash us. In the end, it's probably about balance, and being self sustaining when you can, versus prioritising your own safety when conditions take a turn. Wish you fair winds and happy sailing.
I just came back over the wide bay bar first bar corssing ive ever done in a yacht i just baught at tincan bay there im thinking about following the same path u guys are back up north
Awesome trip to do. We got as far as Cairns then back to Mooloolaba for cyclone season. Loved the Keppels, Fitzroy, and especially Lady Musgrave. You’ve got to get out there in turtle beeeding season. Fair winds
@@Rad-Nomads just asking because i was told not to fish there by the guy i baught my yacht off he said they have cameras off double island point and they come get u

Not half as interesting as watching a young guy do the same thing in a 23 ft trailer sailer.
