Bought the PC38x about a year ago, definitely in the market for a better situational awareness headset. The ability to pinpoint what direction an enemy is coming from is kinda weak. I play mostly Squad on PC.
While I agree on the volume wheel, I have to disagree with the overall conclusion. I find the H3 significantly more comfortable both in terms of the new thicker memory foam, and suede finish. To me the increased comfort alone is worth the extra costs. Even if The pads wear out quicker, its a trade off im willing to make and can always replace them. Hate pleather on skin as it makes me sweat.
Hey there, I know it has been 2 years ago you commented and hopefully you see this. I’ve used GSP 300 for years now and just changed to H3. I’m wondering if you’re having the same experience as me where the sound quality on the H3 is way worse than the GSP 300? Like I physically cannot use it to listen music because there’s no bass at all, and in game (valorant) I can only pick up the sound of footsteps and gun shots, and all the other sounds are deafened. Would be great if you could share more details.
I feel like the title is a bit click bate. I have had the H3 for a week now and when it comes to sound quality it is much better then my Hyper X Alpha, and leaps and bounds ahead of my Arctis 7 Pro. Directional sound in stereo is the best I have had in any headset. I don't care that much about how long the ear cups will last, EPOS sells replacements. I want good sound quality and a mic that is better then average. Is the build quality top notch ? I think it is for how light it is. People overlook the G Pro Headsets terrible mic quality, or the Razer headsets lack of quality control, and HyperX's insanely confusing naming structure. What I got from this review was. Great Sound, Good Mic, Good build quality for the weight, with the cons being cable noise (lolz) and ear cups that might ware out quickly. How is that overall a BAD headset ? What I am hearing is a Sennheiser fanboy mad that Senn is dead, I mean they could have had a single new idea over the last 20 years, but they just rested on their name and well, now they are part of a hearing aid brand ....
Hey, just wanted to follow up and find out if your H3 is still going strong. I'm in the market for a new pair right now and my top contenders are the GSP 300 and the H3, which are within 5$ of each other.
anyone still interested in buying these should know 2 years later and the price has bottomed out. I'm seeing these for around $50 USD. i think at that price these are finally priced right.
Thanks for making an honest review! Many reviews are just too euphoric but this is good! It looks like we've got a successor for the GSP300 and GSP600 here which have never been top of the line headsets. I hope they engineer a true successor with a broader frequency response to the Game One but I don't know if they are capable to do that. Epos is still selling the 10+(?) years old Game One on it's website and I don't know any better open gaming headset, yet. (There is no PC38x in Europe.) The only alternative I've seen was the Audio-Technica ATH-PDG1A but that one looks really outdated.
I loved my PC360, currently using Senn HD598 SE or Beyerdynamic DT770 80ohm + modmic, HD598 SE are my favorite. SO comfortable, no earcup wumble/slack noise like my Beyerdynamic, but with the AC running in summer, I need closed headphones to hear something in games.
I own the GSP 300. Great gaming headset overall, i really like it. But Dimitri, it is hard for me to believe that your earpads are in such an excellent state after 4 years of use. Mine barely last for 2 years before being torn open from the inside. I bought mine in 2018 and it has happened twice so far, both to the initial earpads and to the replacement earpads (bought from the official website). The replacement earpads are pretty expensive too. Around 20 euros (with shipping fee). You probably do not use them as extensively as someone who has them as his main headset and it is understandable of course since you must use multiple headsets for your job.
I don't get that either. Granted I'm not any kind of audiophile but I've never found a pair where the ears didn't wear off within a year or two. I have the GSP-350 and they are completely falling apart, I literally had to get a needle and stitch the sides back in (which worked pretty well tbh). Fortunately you can buy replacements. But yeah, pleather is not known for being long lasting, god knows every chair I've ever had with it has wound up on my carpet.
@@larion2336 That's exactly what i did too. I stitched the inner side of the earpads and they are fine for now. They clearly have a design flaw. It looks like they use glue instead of stitch in that area, so eventually that wears off over time and they open up like a chocolate bar wrap.
I'd like to see a video on how to make your custom keyboard from the switches, the layout, and the key caps. I would expect it to be quality from Canucks because he knows what to show in b roll
I bought the gsp300 after watching some reviews and was not disappointed by it ... now I'm using the fidelio x2hr and also the akg k612pro for gaming ... really nice, love the open back ... For now playing Horizon Zero Dawn, I've started it on ps4 and haven't finished it so I'm trying my best to complete the game on pc.
It looks cheap, but not horribly so. The sound quality and mic is still excellent, it is comfortable. It's not all bad, just not as good as previous senns because of the build(which had good and bad points) but mainly the volume wheel. I just Hope the don't do that single hinge design for the next open backs. Good thing I bought a pc37x and 2 pc38x, I'm good for a while.
I'm playing Hunt: Showdown for quite a while. It has the best audio game with binaural audio. May be it's also the best game to test gaming headset too.
Sadly i found gsp600 heavily bass-underemphasized playing hunt showdown. This thing make me crazy, but my old g635 sound way deeper and make easier to listen far and little noise and it's direction.
@@arijitzindahai I just watched the review to refresh myself on what he said and it's all true I own the headset myself and couldn't find him lying about anything.
@@arijitzindahai Once you wear them for a bit they were personally the most comfortable headset I've ever owned. The sound quality is alright but for the same price you get 1000x better audio quality from a true pair of headphones. But if you must use a gaming headset and don't mind using the eq a bit they are some of the best in that market.
I was a bit scared when I heard that EPOS would be taking over the Sennheiser Gaming products. Unfortunately, this shows that I'm right. Hopefully, Sonova carries the torch with Sennheiser's audiophile products. The latest flagship release (IE900) is a good start.

@@Th4mc Of course I know that and I stand by the comment that hopefully EPOS can make better headsets. The PC37X and PC38X are not pro-audio and much better value choices than the H3. EPOS should've been aware of that when developing the H3...since it's so well-known they're all under a shared corporate umbrella.
At $120 price PC37X is much better, low profile looks and solid sound performance. At under $99 there are so much options nowadays this new H3 is a hard sell. It's sad that EPOS couldn't move away from this gamer-y design and make something more value-orientated.
Even tho this review isn't very positive I think I'll pick up a pair of these. Got a deal on it atm for free shipping + $59 USD right now, so the price has come down a lot it would seem. I have a pair of GSP-350 atm which have been quite nice but the cable eventually got screwed (what happens to all my headsets seemingly), which means mic gives crazy feedback into headset.
Hi, what you recomand EPOS H3 vs GSP 500 ? They are the same price around 60 euro, or can you recommend something better regardless of whether it is wired or wireless? Tnx
I have a Sound BlasterX H6 headphones and I am happy but today I saw an amazing deal about 49€ for the Senheisser Epos H3 , Do you think that is interesting to change to the Epos H3 or is the SoundlasterX H6 a similar quality product and it is not necessary to do the change ? Thanks
@@HardwareCanucks Isnt it essentially the same drivers? I have been on the lookout for headset either pc38x , but had to order from US and probably would be close to 200$ or epos h6pro for 106$ from amazon.

Need something with big comfortable earcups, good mic quality, and a good sound while listening to music and game volume (not at the same time, just want good sound quality for both things). Any help appreciated, feeling super overwhelmed with all the choices lmao.
Man my PC350's that I got back in 2009-2010 was my fav headset of all time and sadly died after I keep rolling over the wire too many times with my chair.
@Hardware Canucks What features does a headphone need to be a gaming headphone and why? Can you review some audiophile headphones like the Hifiman Sundara, Focal Elegia and ZMF Atticus and compare them to gaming headphones for sound quality and long hours comfort?
I have moved to buying rubber cables for all my headphones. If durability is a feature of braided cables... I just don't care when you have to deal with that rubbing sound.

I bough EPOS GSP-370 for 180€ a little over a year ago and all I can say is, never EPOS again. Sound quality is maybe good enough for gaming, but far away from hi-fi music experience (one can get better sound with 60€ wired headphones). And then there are earpads... They started to fall apart just after a year of use. On inner side of earpad seam breaks (is only melted together) and foam protrudes out. That just shouldn't happen at that price range! I have more than 10 years old AKG K242HD headphones and they're still in perfect condition. Yes, I could buy replacement earpads (35€!), but it just isn't worth in long term.
Seems that the Turtle Beach Recon 500 is a better deal and cheaper. Maybe a comparison would be beneficial and Epos gets the memo of not trying to reinvent the volume wheel...
You do realize that the people that made Sennheiser gaming headsets are literally the exact same people who develop EPOS headsets, right? The Sennheiser gaming department were always separated from the professional audio departments.
Need a headset with a good quality microphone (for streaming), that is wireless (for VR). Also if possible, one that has dual audio and allows and aux input while still playing with wireless to transmit audio from a GoXLR into. If anyone has any recommendations let me know. Currently using a Steelseries Arctis 9 (Previously was using the Pro, till it broke).
I am looking for a new headset as mine just recently broke. I am currently coming from hyperx cloud alphas and overall they were pretty solid in the time they worked. I am looking for something with a more solid and clear sounding microphone. In todays market right now with all the options out there, what would you go with?
Still rocking my PG-1 from Audio Technica. Still good. Sad to see Sennheiser no longer making these headphones Speaking of expanding your library, tried the Nier series and the recent remaster of Nier Replicant/reincarnation?
My old headset was the gsp 300. It was so good but I hated the cable because it always got tangled on itself. Mainly switched my headset because I wanted to get wireless. Got the Steelseries arctis 7's and well the gsp's sound guality is much better. Now my sister is using my old gsp 300's

hey Dimitri, this isn't relevant to the video but which one would you say is better, the Logitech g pro x wireless or the hyperx cloud ll wireless?
Are u gonna review the MMX 150 MMX 100 by beyer?
i just bought a game one pair... i hope i at least get repairs if it get broken while under guarantee
Seems that the Turtle Beach Recon 500 is a better deal and cheaper. Maybe a comparison would be beneficial and Epos gets the memo of not trying to reinvent the volume wheel...
Why does it say "This video is sponsored by ????." in the description?
I think its pretty good. They made it Modern. Doesnt look so bad anymore.
Great review
You do realize that the people that made Sennheiser gaming headsets are literally the exact same people who develop EPOS headsets, right? The Sennheiser gaming department were always separated from the professional audio departments.
Need a headset with a good quality microphone (for streaming), that is wireless (for VR). Also if possible, one that has dual audio and allows and aux input while still playing with wireless to transmit audio from a GoXLR into. If anyone has any recommendations let me know. Currently using a Steelseries Arctis 9 (Previously was using the Pro, till it broke).
Virtuoso extented, or whatever it's called. The new one with Bluetooth support.
@@KraljHD I think I love you
@@ItsGibsy love you too bud, no homo.
Just purchased one of these at GameStop on clearance + sale for $70. Can't complain, but also don't feel that it was worth the $120 original price.
I am looking for a new headset as mine just recently broke. I am currently coming from hyperx cloud alphas and overall they were pretty solid in the time they worked. I am looking for something with a more solid and clear sounding microphone. In todays market right now with all the options out there, what would you go with?
Sennheiser game one
If you want to try open headsets then the pc38x. Closed back mh751.
I can get that for around $55 here in india . I think its a pretty great deal
Sennheiser GSP 302 vs Sennheiser GSP 300 which one is better and why?
Same headsets just different colour
Thanks for the review Canuck. I'm playing Rainbow Six Siege and I will be playing Battlefield 2042 when it comes out. I'm really stoked for BF2042.
i need a bluetooth headset to play pubg mobile .i can't find anywhere i would like to play i with oneplus. could you help me. if you can be clear
Still rocking my PG-1 from Audio Technica. Still good.
Sad to see Sennheiser no longer making these headphones
Speaking of expanding your library, tried the Nier series and the recent remaster of Nier Replicant/reincarnation?
My old headset was the gsp 300. It was so good but I hated the cable because it always got tangled on itself. Mainly switched my headset because I wanted to get wireless. Got the Steelseries arctis 7's and well the gsp's sound guality is much better. Now my sister is using my old gsp 300's
Heard in this review you played EFT, so whats your no budget dac/amp headphone combo? Im not unhappy with my set up but was wondering if you had a magic EFT combo for the extra sweats 😂
I just bought a pair of black GSP 302 and they are superior to my old turtle beach headset in every way.
