Ikr, I mean it is impressive stuff but when I was 16 I was writing cringy wattpad stories. I couldnt even imagine making a game like this unless I had 5 years experience when I was that age
I still can't believe, how far you have come with your game. I learned GameDev 12 years ago and did not one game as far as you have done it. I think I definitely have less time than you, with a job, wife, and kids, but even with more time, I believe you're exceptionally talented. About half a year ago, I started the city-building project on my channel because in the evenings, I often lack the concentration to keep programming. But every time I see your video, it triggers me to want to get back into it, and by the way, in my opinion, your video is incredibly well-edited.
This is some great work, I will definitely be keeping an eye out for this. It has some really good style and you do a really good job with editing keep it up 👍
I’ve been trying to make my own game too and your videos have really inspired me, since I haven’t really managed to get into everything without giving up.
i really like the zooming in the house ! beautiful work as always ! (quick question: what the "item name" means in the creation tab ?) good luck for the rest of your journey and please not give up and ofc congratulations for your 10k its very impressive
Thanks, but yeah good question - I never really explained the connection. To easily identify each one of your worlds in the list they will have an icon, but since I couldn't really be bothered drawing loads of custom icons I just made it so that you could choose an item to be the the 'logo' for your world.
The game looks great hope you keep on working on it best of luck. Also 1 question is your game going to have a storyline or is it going to be just like survive make a home and just have fun.
I have thought about having some sort of storyline, and it's not out of the question, but it's sort of unlikely. Firstly, I feel like having a story makes the game less replayable, you know? Like, if you have a story then that's kind of what you have to focus on, and then that's what you remember, so the game feels mostly the same every time. Secondly, I don't know how well story-related aspects would tie in with procedural generation and building. Things like cutscenes would have to just be premade and non-interactive. Thirdly, I'm no creative writer. Building up an entire world with fleshed out characters and dialogue takes some serious skill and thought. So yes, I might have some background lore that can be discovered through notes or whatever, but I doubt I'll give it a proper plot.
I feel like the logo is a bit too busy compared to the rest of the game, if you can just clump some of it together i think it would look great! Awesome game(will it be free) :)
It would be really cool if you made the save files as small as possible and maybe even the game itself... To run it on a calculator!!! Just imagine playing with like 8kb of ram But I mean it would take a bit of time to do so might not be worth it
bro never make text font like this, it'll be impossible to localize into more languages and that can be really impactful for sales. anyways great video thanks
@@smarts_1l Aventyr and Arboneer were the top two, both tied with around a quarter of the votes each, which is why I had to just decide myself. Thanks for the suggestion though - it was close to winning!
"as I'm turning 16 in about a month" brother I thought this was a whole ass 30 year old man with 5 years of experience

Keep it up bro!!!
Can you add caves? it would be cool if there were bats or even a giant bat.
Bats could be a pretty good enemy, yeah
Ur turning 16? That's cool
I am leaving a comment to help the algorithm
Use stone for the name the name of the the game needs to be clear and easy to recognise
It would be really cool if you made the save files as small as possible and maybe even the game itself... To run it on a calculator!!!

@@sigmoiddev nah its a very good name. Just btw how did Aventyr do since I came up with that suggestion
@@smarts_1l Aventyr and Arboneer were the top two, both tied with around a quarter of the votes each, which is why I had to just decide myself. Thanks for the suggestion though - it was close to winning!
@@sigmoiddev Fair enough. I actually preferred Arboneer too
