Hi Bob, I found this a very interesting vid as I’m thinking of changing my folding bike. Can you please give me an idea as to the battery range / milage that you are getting.
Roland, thanks for your comment and question. The set up is a Bosch mid drive motor with a 500wh battery. Generally I am confident in achieving 40miles travel with the bike loaded and the battery controller set on ‘Tour’. This is in the hilly terrain of Scotland but does require some controller management. I can exceed that and achieve up to 50 miles if the weather is warm and the battery fully charged but it does require some active/ strenuous cycling on my part to limit battery strain. Most of my trips I like to cover 50 to 60 miles per day so do carry a spare battery in my rack pack and often have to change it out. My spare is from my Cube Mountain Bike with has the same Bosch drive system and the battery is interchangeable. Carrying a fully charged spare gives me options of doing 80 to 100 miles per day. I used to do such long distances many years ago but these days I like about 50 to 60 miles as my optimum. Clearly when my trips are below 40miles I use the fixed battery only but the freedom 2 batteries give is a huge advantage on trip planning. Thanks for your question, regards Bob.
