- On September 28, 2024, Hillcrest Complex, the TTC's largest facility, was open to the public to celebrate its 100th anniversary. Located at the intersection of Bathurst/Davenport, the complex is responsible for most of the maintenance work on the system's surface vehicles, including heavy overhauls, repairs, and repainting.
On display were mostly newer buses including 2023 Nova Bus LFS HEV 7062, 2023 New Flyer XDE40 7320, 2024 New Flyer XE40 6000 (part of an order of 340 new electric buses) and 2252, a restored 1982 GM (Fishbowl) New Look. A 1951 PCC streetcar, and a Swiss-made 1978 CLRV streetcar were also on display.
I made a second video of these vehicles, filmed on my phone, as a higher quality version which will be up soon. Unfortunatley due to issues, this video is not in HD.
Here’s the people I met on and off-camera: @Yahiathetransitguy @YoshiBros @nickysexperience004 @amphibiatransitfanyt @Kipling45 @mrtransitfan647 @FinchtheTTCfan @71ARunnymede @canadatorontotransit @Train_and_bus_fan @EpicNationHD4Life

@@torontowalker17 Thanks bro!
It was nice meeting you there, I was also messing with the doors manually opening and closing them on 7062.
@@Train_and_bus_fan Yahia was doing the same on 6000 and 2252 lol
Really fun day yesterday!!!
It was!
Great video 📹
Oh you met Karl? Dang it, I would’ve wanted to meet him. But hey, I really enjoyed seeing each other
Someday we will 😁
Fun fact: the New Flyer 72/7300s have a light on the dash that tells the operator that the bike rack is down
Interesting
Can’t wait to ride 6000 when it enters
Me too
6:12 8734 has had the plastic seats since October 2021 so it is not really a first for the TTC.
I completley forgot about that, thanks
@@AlexGetsAroundTOyea it happens. Also at 17:32 did the guy say they were retiring the Birchmount novas? Cause i heard him say something about that, which would not make sense since they are only 9 years old right now.
It already irks me because Queensway is pointlessly retiring 12-14 year old buses that are not even past their useful life. With that, they are pretty much experincing a bus shortage. As for Birchmount, it could happen too so higher ups and board members should really consider halting mass retirements of 9 year old buses. As much as I’m looking forward to our new eBuses, they’re going way too far and fast with retiring buses that are in good condition.
second best seat is in back in middle because you can look out thought window at the front of the bus
Was there just before it closed the seats on 6000 are ok. Still getting used to plastic seats
Cool
New Flyer > Nova
I may have to agree, but I wonder how the LFSe and XE40 will fair out once they enter service
@@AlexGetsAroundTO our LFSE+'s are full of issues
